Hey, with punch cards you at least got the chance to "program" so that when you "loaded" the computer played (reasonably) recognizable melodies.

And, of course, finding some essential task that had to be done in the computer room in the middle of a Texas summer wasn't to be sneezed at either.

I am firmly of the opinion that (other than audio-visual amusements) over 90% of all (home and small business) computer tasks could be accomplished using Windows 3.11 on a computer that war running at around 800MegHz - and with a whole lot less frustration to the average user.
