How can you read about these facilities - by any name - and think the inadequate treatment of human beings, to the enrichment of already rich people, is right? Where is your humanity?

I do. The rhetoric is exactly what shows up in every genocide case in history. They're invaders. Murderers. Rapists. Invasion invasion invasion. Taking our jobs. Etc. Etc. Continuously painting these people as an enemy.

Eventually people start believing it, and there's only one way to respond to an enemy invasion.

The only reason anyone is "quibbling" over a word is because "concentration camp" invokes imagery that is not reflective of ordinary detention, refugee, prisons, or jails...including the boarder detention camps. If universally concentration camp only meant detention without trail, the disingenuous usage would not an issue.

Every attentive school child or minimally educated adult think that "concentration camps are where large numbers of people, especially political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area... to provide forced labor or to await mass execution." They associate it "with the several hundred camps established by the Nazis in Germany and occupied Europe in 1933–45, among the most infamous being Dachau, Belsen, and Auschwitz.". (Bing Definition).

To use that term directed to a general audience, while also attempting to link it to the "never again" phrase for rejecting another holocaust (AOC). is grossly ignorant of (and dishonors) history.

In short: no, the border centers are NOT concentration camps as generally understood in common discourse. AOC knew that and addressed a general audience using that term.

I didn't believe he'd put children in concentration camps.

Do you think the holocaust just started one day out of nowhere? Do you think continuously painting these people as an enemy invader has no consequences?

People are already dying, and it's absolutely a larger number than we're being told.

Calling what we are doing today as our version of a concentration camp does absolutely nothing to diminish what those of Jewish faith (and others) suffered at the hands of Hitler's ideology. Defining a concentration camp is nothing more than saying a location where people are confined and monitored for reasons of national security, or punishment, or exclusion from society for whatever governmental or military order reasoning.

Take your faux outrage elsewhere. Concentration camps were not the same thing as death camps. Concentration camps just means internment without trial.

No, I am offended of those who use the term to disingenuously mislead the public, and thereby dilute the perception of Nazi camps of genocide. If you are "hardly offended", the problem is not mine.

Regarding the detention centers, people are not being held without trial. There are being held pending trial, and anyone of the foreign citizens (many having attempted illegal entry) may leave and exit the United States.

Germans went all over Europe rounding Jews up, put them on trains and sent them to concentration and work camps. They worked until they were murdered. Learn your history. You will not appear so ignorant.
