Trump vows removal of ‘millions of illegal aliens’ starting next week

Ask the Angel Moms what they think about this "manufactured" crisis.
Or are you going to pull a Nancy Pelosi and ignore them too?

Yeah, ask the tiny number of people Trump exploits to push his cruel and racist policy at the expense of decent people. That's telling 'em.

No its not. Its sound and rational thought.
You, on the other hand...

Sound and rational thought is the last thing that will ever come out of tertiary trump’s mouth.

I agree with the E-verify. However my most pressing concern [in the event this is successful] would be who will replace all these workers in one of the fastest growing regions in the country. [central TX]

OTOH it might seriously affect people's decisions on moving here in the first place. :2wave: Traffic might dwindle!

Who will replace all those workers for republican businesses?

That "tiny number of people" lost loved ones to TRASH that shouldn't have been here IN THE FIRST PLACE. Enforce the laws and those people might still be alive. Of course, i'm talking to a Liberal, who loves the idea of murdering a defenseless lifeform right up to the second before it's born.

Maybe the Russians you are so paranoid about. I'm sure those Russians who watch your every move could use a few extra bucks.

So. Should illegals whom judges have ordered deportation but who refuse to leave, be deported?

In a perfect world what you say might make sense. But in our current US world we have the reality of a wealthy nation sharing a land border with a much poorer one, not very common elsewhere, with illegals from the south subsidizing our lifestyles through cheap labor in agriculture, food processing, and the hotel and restaurant industry. This is coupled with a refusal of conservatives to support policies that would increase wages and help make such jobs more attractive to citizens and legal immigrants. In addition, we have a humanitarian and human rights crisis in part of Central America which the US had a hand in creating, coupled with the legal and treaty obligation of dealing with asylum seekers. The cherry on top of this mess is the President's quasi-racist rhetoric about Mexicans at a time when their illegal migration was diminishing, and his hypocritical ignoring of visa-overstayers, a substantial portion of illegals, in favor of scapegoating Juan the leaf-blower over Hans the barista.
ICE will be going after the more than a million that already have deportation orders first. A lot of them have criminal convictions and many are visa overstays . Anyone else caught up in the dragnet that is not waiting for a court asylum hearing or who didn’t go to their hearing will also be deported

Enforce the laws .....law makers can change laws if they want but we are a Nation of Laws.

No need to over complicate it.

Well the courts will enforce the laws, and that's where this whole plan is going to stall. Even if he can bring so many cases in the next few months it'll take years. 'Conservatives' harp on about 'enforcing the law' but they don't realize it's not Dirty Harry. That's how the law works and what has stalled travel bans and attempts at mass deportation in the past: the law.

Besides Trump only said this because he's had a crap week in the polls and needs to deflect. The number? He just pulled that out of his ass. Like most of his manufactured crises it will be forgotten in the next news cycle for either the next scandal or his next knee-jerk response. In the meantime he hopes his supporters don't notice they're being played because they mistake his tough talk for action.

At least the visa over stays were vetted before they came into the country we know nothing about those that sneak into the country. Hell we have over two hundred illegals from the Congo in San Antonio right now the Congo has a large out break of Ebola now the only thing protecting us is if the had it they probably would have died before reaching the US.

I hope that you're right. I've been disappointed with years of inaction on this front. It's not as if we're going after the mafia here. These people are out in the open, many openly living here illegally. We should have been doing this from day 1.

America's greatest problem is"segments of white people" wanting to dictate to others how to live, wanting to dictate what they can and can't have access to, and still in this day and age trying to dictate which skin tone can get and have respect .. then they want
to think they have some role and position to issue out rights to others who are not white.

Why is this wrong, but what you said okay?

Most of these people already have deportation orders no need for another court hearing

Trump vows removal of 'millions of illegal aliens' starting next week - News - The Columbus Dispatch - Columbus, OH

Be interesting to see if they ACTUALLY do this, Trump likes to boast and talk, and really if you want such to be successful, you DO NOT TWEET ABOUT IT... FFS.

FYI, when you post, you can edit out those strange characters (that appear in the index), replace them with the actual ones on your keyboard, and the strange characters will disappear (cutting and pasting ; ", etc, does this, you need to manually type those in ). I do this all the time. As for the headline, you have to do it in the "go advanced" tab.

Not sure that visa overstayers have final deportation orders, but at any rate some may be harder to find not that Trump shouted out a warning.

Oh good, it should all be over in a couple of months then. No need to keep whining about 'illegals' in 2020. Problem solved right?

As I mentioned, the MAGA crowd have seen before that 'the law' as they imagine it, is not all they want it to be when it comes to immigration. It won't simply be sending trainloads off in the snow and never seeing them again.

And your point is? You can enforce the law on the border without breaking other laws. One could do something about Central American migrants and still keep Congolese out of San Antonio.

Oh, thank you, mayhaps I will. I always just shrugged that it was some weird forum bug.

US citizens and legal immigrants will fill the void but at higher wages/benefits - the only losers will be those that gamed the system by ignoring federal immigration law(s).

I'll be eager to hear what the narrative will shift to if that shift were to materialize. Raising the minimum wage has been an uphill battle, so I suspect more of the same.

Why raise the MW when we have millions of foreign nationals illegally entering (or remaining in) the country for economic reasons now? Wages/benefits rise to what is required to attract and retain qualified labor. Currently, having US citizenship or a legal immigration status is not a qualification for US employment.

Oh good, more policy via Twitter. Without the details behind Trump's plan all we have is speculation, but we also have at least some evidence that Trump will push ICE for more deportations as a blanket statement.

The numbers vary greatly depending on source but for 2018 it looks like deportations ended up around 95K, apprehensions around 225K. The irony is for the same year Mexico deported just over 100K, after their apprehensions were around 110K. They caught less but deported more in raw numbers and percentage of who they caught. Also Trump is now praising Mexico, a far departure from the rhetoric of a few weeks back.

According to ABC News, they have "administration officials" saying this was about the more than 1 million who have already seen final deportation orders issued by federal judges but remain somewhere in the US. That would put the onus on ICE / law enforcement investigations and raids, to unknown conclusions.

Politically Trump has every reason to see this through, it rallies his base and perhaps speaks to Independents who do not agree with Democrats general cavalier attitude regarding Immigration.

We'll see.

I wonder if he informed the people who would have to carry this out before he tweeted it, and gave them enough resources. If I was a betting man, I would bet NO.

What's next, "Krystallnacht" ?

I wouldn't be surprised if there is an uptick in violence towards these folks. They don't, of course have anything to pillage. So they will be spared that.

Jews were citizens, were they not?
So, according to you, will there be trains, planes or buses going to the ovens?
... not all concentration camps have ovens. The US had Japanese concentration camps, we managed to not have people in ovens. That isn't the point though.
