I wonder what trump hopes to accomplish by firing Brett Loyd, Mike Baselice and Adam Geller while ignoring realty of what the polls say?

<Privately, the president was livid that the numbers leaked out, according to White House and campaign officials.>

<“He is madder that the numbers are out than that the numbers exist,” said one senior administration official.>

<Trump’s “kill the messenger” strategy in response to the leaked polling data reflects his desire to show strength at all times, even <in the face of less-than-favorable news from within his own campaign.>

<The disclosure of the polling data has upended what has been a relatively smooth-running reelection operation so far — and highlights the stark challenges the president faces in forging a coalition to repeat his 2016 victory. While there has been some tension between Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and White House adviser, and Republican National Committee officials, it has largely remained behind the scenes.>

<Several campaign advisers said they were dismayed by the leak of the polling data — but that the numbers, and conversations with advisers, explained Trump’s fixation on Biden, who is leading early public polls in the race for the 2020 Democratic nomination.
Trump has complained to staffers about the polling data disclosure for several days, White House and campaign advisers said.>

<After the leak of the internal polling, both Parscale and Fabrizio argued that the numbers were out-of-date and that once the Trump campaign “defined” Democrats to respondents, the numbers shifted in Trump’s favor.>
<“The Trump internal campaign data being reported is incomplete and misleading,” Fabrizio said in a statement Friday. “The old numbers from March being reported represent a worst-case scenario in the most unfavorable turnout model possible.”>

Those numbers, this far away from the election, are meaningless...except as talking points for his opponents.

But the fact that people employed by his campaign would violate confidences SHOULD make him livid. He has a right to be livid.

So face it, Donc...your spin is nonsense.

I wouldn't blame anyone for firing people who leaked confidential information. I'm just wondering if Trump knows that these three were the leakers. After all, his administration is rife with leakers.

The person at the top sets the tone, and Trump has made it clear that he has no loyalty to anyone. Obviously, the people he's hired are just as lacking in that respect

My only spin was that trump fired the messenger that brought him the bad news. What other spin would you give him?

Anonymous spokespeople are lower on the scale of possible sources for facts than lying hearsay witnesses.

Just one little problem with your argument: if polls are meaningless this far away from the election, why did the trump campaign have this poll conducted in the first place?

Well, if they were really the leakers, sure. Does this mean you now realize Trump was lying to you about the numbers being fake news?

What"lying hearsay witnesses"are you referring to?

My only spin was that trump fired the messenger that brought him the bad news. What other spin would you give him?

And your spin is wrong.

The fact is, he fired people who broke confidentiality.

Well it's all fake news, didn't you know? Fake pollsters, fake results, fake news.

Just one little problem with your argument: if polls are meaningless this far away from the election, why did the trump campaign have this poll conducted in the first place?

That's their job.

That's their job.

Which means that the Trump campaign, unlike you, clearly believed that such poll results were meaningful.

Well, if they were really the leakers, sure. Does this mean you now realize Trump was lying to you about the numbers being fake news?

It could still be fake news. Breaking confidentiality is still a firing offence whether they told the truth or not.

Perhaps they do. I don't.

#45 doesn't like to be told reality. The fact is, 55% of voters say they won't vote for him.

It could still be fake news. Breaking confidentiality is still a firing offence whether they told the truth or not.
Trump tweeted "The Fake (Corrupt) News Media said they had a leak into polling done by my campaign which, by the way and despite the phony and never ending Witch Hunt, are the best numbers WE have ever had. They reported Fake numbers that they made up & don’t even exist."

If the fake news media made up the numbers, then why fire the pollsters?

Trump's underlings said they were old polls, not made up numbers. Which also disagrees with Trump's tweet. So are they lying to you now?

Meaningless, unless you have been around for a year-and-a-half, and know that this is consistent with #45's popularity that has a floor and a peak ranging from the low 30s to the mid 40s. I don't see anything on the horizon to improve these numbers. Will Trump get us into a war to boost them?

And your spin is wrong.

The fact is, he fired people who broke confidentiality.

You forgot to put the preface that "trump thought" that the people he fired "broke confidentiality." Coming from trump...that's a bit of stretch.

Well unless trump is somehow going to become wildly popular with the American People these numbers are really bad news. Of-course that depends on if they actually turn up next November.
To a degree I agree, he should care about Leakers within his own camp. That said it also shows once again that many of those around trump don't agree with his behavior and still have a shred of integrity.

As I said...doesn't matter if the leaked stuff was fake or not. That fact that anything was leaked...that Trump campaign employees are talking to the media...is a firing offense.

Oh...so you believe what might be fake info based on other fake info.

Your choice.

I didn't forget anything.
