The Phoenix Police Department has opened an investigation into some of its officers and how they handled a shoplifting-theft incident.

The decision comes after cell phone video was released showing an officer sweeping the leg of a handcuffed man.

A family spokesperson says the two were considered shoplifting suspects, stemming from their daughter taking a doll from a dollar store.

Ames says the officer never identified himself and never signaled them with the lights and sirens.

"A police officer, we don't know who he is, a guy, random guy came up to the door banging on the window with a gun, says he's going to shoot us in our face, telling us to get out of the car. He hasn't alerted us that we're being pulled over anything," Ames said.

Now I know, 10 cops should have pulled her over and assaulted her while her partner aimed a weapon at me...

A doll, at the dollar store, probably cost 1.06 after tax.

Or is it common, where you live to call the cops on a kid that shoplifts?

Really can't wait to hear what the authoritarian bootlickers have to say on this one.

Because this isn't the only incident we got of cops pulling guns on kids.

A Utah police chief defended an officer who pulled his gun on a 10-year-old black boy, saying the officer believed the child might be an armed suspect and will keep working during an independent review.

Hrubes has said her son didn't have any toys or objects in his hands. The officer told DJ to put his hands in the air and get on the ground and told him not to ask questions. After Jerri Hrubes confronted the officer, he got in his car and left, she said.

Soffe said the officer was part of a group chasing suspects after authorities received reports of a shooting and were told the suspects were black, Hispanic or Polynesian, he said.

Check out the description the cop was going on when he decided to pull a gun on a ten yo boy in his own yard. But left right quick when his white mother comes out.

I posted the picture with no context. The fact that you automatically interpreted it as a defense of the officer shows that it is one (if the kid actually looked 10, looks being all the officer had to go on, then someone posting his picture would be interpreted as a condemnation of the officer).

You know exactly what context you meant it in. Here is a picture of him, he looks almost adult, the cop wouldn't have known he was 10.

It's obvious. So glaringly obvious stating otherwise is an insult to everyone's intelligence.

It was racist. You knew it when you posted it, you know it now.

Why would anyone caught shoplifting have any reason to misrepresent what happened?

Why would their families pursue million-dollar payouts for alleged misconduct by their apprehenders?

I certainly can't think of a $ingle rea$on...

Hate to be on topic, but yeah, kids sometimes steal stuff, and they sometimes lie when caught, and adults will also sometimes lie to achieve big paydays rather than being good parents.

Law enforcement also behaves badly sometimes.

None of us have any idea what REALLY happened here, so all of the speculation is nonsense.

And the accusations of racism and so forth are pathetic nonsense.

But illiberals gotta illiberal, so what can one do?

Have you seen the video? A 4 year old put a barbie in her backpack and cops threatened to shoot her parents in the face because of it. It's on video but you go keep defending thug cops bra.
