Trump: If President Xi does not attend G-20, more China tariffs

Bluster, foot-stamping, bullying, and threats, usually empty ones. The hallmarks of a master deal-maker

It would be nice if he found something new to threaten nations. I hear it so often that this morning I threatened to impose the most severe tariffs ever seen on the barista if he didn't use oat milk in my cortado.

Xi Jinping, President of China, also known as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China.

Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping, (born June 15?, 1953, Fuping county, Shaanxi province, China), Chinese politician and government official who served as vice president of the People's Republic of China (2008–13), general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP; 2012– ), and president of China (2013– ).

"President" sure makes me feel a whole lot better about China though huh?

lets not forget what China is.

Doesn't the law define the lawful justifications for levying a tariffs? Like national security, or when a country engages in unfair trade practices?

Something has to be done, and I lean a bit towards Trump on this issue. The problem I have with this is how he is presenting it. He says China is paying for it. No, China isn't paying for them. That's not how tariffs work. A tariff is levied at the port of entry. The buyers who resell the goods to consumers pay the tariff. The buyers pass on the cost to the consumer. Essentially, a tariff ends up being a tax on the consumer.

Having said this, I can agree with Trump on levying the tariffs. A trade war is needed at this time. Trump just shouldn't be lying about who pays for them.

Is this supposed to upset me, Marxistleninist? As far as I am concerned, China's fascistic party and its leader cannot be threatened enough.
Generally speaking, I always thought it was a bad idea to essentially state publicly "**** you, do what we want or we'll hurt you."

Although arguably tariffs on imports from china hurt us more than them.
