US makes deal with Mexico on tariffs, immigration, Trump announces

Well, when it is demonstrated that something actually is done .. then let's discuss it. Of course, Mexico was shipping 6000 troupes to their southern boarder even before the tarriff threat.

The singular reason Mexico intends to send thousands in the Guatemala border was exactly acted upon because of the tariff threat!
The fact that this country can send asylum seekers back to Mexico is perhaps even a more useful concession to this country.
This deal to prevent tariffs being imposed by June 10 has been signed by Mexico.

I'm aware they promised to help in lesser fashions before but I suggest a signed agreement has more teeth in it than verbal arrangements
that proved not effective in the recent past.

What is accurate, is that Trump "Tweeted" he had a "great deal", just like he did with China, just like he did with NK, just like he did with Canada, just like he did with Germany. And they've all been B.S.

So please excuse me while I don't believe a word he says.

This was a Trump Tweet. The same as we saw with NK, China, Germany, Canada, etc. It's meaningless. I can't see how anyone would buy into this. We've seen this (reality) show before.

I'm at a loss to see why anyone would pay attention to Trump Tweets anymore, at three years in. They're all nonsense. I wish the media would just leave them alone, and let him create his ridiculous Reality Show for his followers using only Fox & Breitbart. We don't need to hear this crap from the legit media. It's distracting.

They wonder why he's so powerful. It's called propaganda.

They should not cover his Tweets. If he has something to say, let him say it on camera to our eyes and ears, instead of hiding behind the internet like a *****.

It will soon become plain enough - either matters improve on the southern border or they do not. Either the rush of asylum seekers stay in the US or they get sent back into Mexico. It's hard to fake a change in that situation if none actually occurs.

Well no doubt there is a lot of butthurt in the Democratic party tonight that he was able to reach a deal with Mexico to crackdown on their southern border and other things to stop the flow of migrants being able to make their way through Mexico unhindered.

One of the most important issues to people in the U.S. is illegal immigration because their states, their communities, their school districts are feeling the impact. Democrats, because they have been unwilling to work to resolve the problem are looking like yahoos especially now that Trump and his administration alone actually was successful in making a deal with Mexico to thwart the invasion. Something he should have never been put in a position to do. The left just lost bigly with these folks that illegal immigration is a major concern, especially those seats they won in 2018 in the House that Trump won in 2016.

Trump's supporters are in too deep, they can't turn on him. They've drank the kool aid and to admit they see any truth to our observations, is for them to have to take responsibility for being reckless with their civic duties, and we know they will never do that.

They'll wait for the power of time to erase their embarrassment, where they can claim ten years from now to have never supported him, just like conservatives did with Bush.

It's best not to play along with their games, where they pretend not to see what he is.

I disagree. The problem is the Republican voter base who were deeply radicalized by their parties leaders going all the way back to the Clinton in the 1990's when right wing pundits like Limbaugh were calling the Clinton's murderers. Things got much worse when Democrats dared to elect a half black president for two terms, and which resulted in right wing politicians and pundits telling their base he was a foreign born muslim terrorist sympathethizer/socialist/communist who hated white people and wanted to take away their guns. All of this resulted in Reality T.V. Con man Donald Trump jumping on the birther bandwagon, and using that nonsense to help himself solidify popularity with the radicalized segment of the Republican base. The Republican voters, a large portion at least, ARE the problem, which is why Trump and his thugs in the GOP can pull conspiracy theories out of their ass, and have 95% of their base believe every word.

Not exactly.

Reagan brainwashed the nation with all kinds of propaganda, he just covered it with a cleaner and more elegant veneer. Both of the Bush regimes were the same way.

The war on drugs, AIDS, evolution, stem cell research, heavy rock, etc. They spread effective propaganda that was almost impossible to deprogram out of people, but they were more sly about it, and they always did it with a smile on their face. Whereas the buffoon we have now is just not smart enough for that playbook, so he has to use his carnival barker antics.

CS, do you really believe Trump may have gotten the substantive deal he's claiming in a Tweet. The same as he did from NK, China, Canada, Germany? We've seen this Reality Show before, my friend. For three years! Is it possible? Anything's possible, including me winning the Lotto. Is it likely? No. It's as likely as his successes in the aforementioned countries, which is to say not at all.

What's going to happen is that just like with those other countries, Trump will claim there's a great deal, Mexico will claim there's a great deal, the heads of the departments he placed there to control will cook the books, and his supporters will herald him a God Genius, and they'll admonish us for not believing it.

We've had three years of this nonsense. Three_long_years. And I can't wait to place my vote next year to end it.
