The solitary confinement aspect is odd though. Putting him in protective custody would make more sense.
What is the difference at this facility?

My concern isn't for the inmates, including(soon to be) Manafort. My concern is that the state of New York has now weaponized the process.
I thought solitary confinement was only for the most violent?
Who do you think deserves to go to Rikers?
Not white collar criminals.
It is a federal conviction. Sending him to Rikers - and then solitary - is sadistic and outrageous. This is for non-violent FEDERAL crimes. People have died in solitary at Rikers - and the abuse by guards of such inmates is well documented - denied water, starved, denied medical care, scalded to death, beaten to death.
It is either personally retaliatory by the radical DEMOCRAT FBI team of the Mueller team or to try to do everything possible to bait the President into commuting his sentence - then use that to claim "obstruction of justice!" for impeachment.
Steal a billion go to a country club prison, steal $10 go to Rikers?
Deterrence is needed for white collar criminals as well
Not white collar criminals.
Someone who stills ten bucks isn't going Rikers. That's a misdemeanor.
I would be surprised if the majority of the Riker's population ever had a trial.

While white collar crimes are kess graphic and more complicated, they generally hurt far more people than many common criminals do.
From your source:
Therefore, blue-collar crime will more often use physical force, whereas in the corporate world, the identification of a victim is less obvious and the issue of reporting is complicated by a culture of commercial confidentiality to protect*shareholder*value. It is estimated that a great deal of white-collar crime is undetected or, if detected, it is not reported.
Why? He's currently a prisoner under sentence for his guilt in a dozen felonies. They can't release a con serving his sentence. The solitary confinement aspect is odd though. Putting him in protective custody would make more sense.

Sent from the Oval Office using Putin's MacBook, and Barr's Wi-Fi password.

That's my question.
If a criminal like Manafort is too good for Rikers, then it should just be shut down.
Maybe it should be shut down anyway since it's so poorly managed. But Manafort is not too good for it.
Cool, now we know where to send Obama and his minions for spying on their political opponents.
If you defraud someone out of 10K, who is the victim of your crime apdst? Nobody?Corporations are people, now? :lamo
It's for political prisoners, too.
