[W:44] New York Passes Bill Giving Congress a Way to Get Trump's State Tax Returns

The hits just keep coming. First he loses the case with Mazars, then he loses the fight over his banking records, then he lost the fight over the counterintelligence records for the FBI investigation, and now the NY state is providing another path to his tax returns.

Buckle-up, it's about to get serious. :popcorn2:

New York Passes Bill Giving Congress a Way to Get Trump’s State Tax Returns - The New York Times

If only our most transparent President ever would actually just be a little bit transparent, this all could be behind him and us (one way or another)

Yep, because "impeach 45!" (if ever actually followed though on) is likely to end with no conviction by the Senate. Let the "show trial" of the POTUS begin ASAP - the American people deserve no less.
What the Democrats are doing isn't a show trial. This is a show trial:

Sent from the Oval Office using Putin's MacBook, and Barr's Wi-Fi password.

Not the DOJ. Congress. Congressional committees. You should consider reading the links and watching the news.

1. The Republican controlled Senate can get all those returns.

2. The Executive Branch is co-equal to the Legislative Branch. Do you understand "co-equal"?

You didn't read the links or watch the news.

At least you're admitting the DOJ has nothing to do with this.

So again, did you email your rep and ask him or her to demand Clinton's NY state tax return yet? And what did you suggest they do with it when they get it?

She released her state taxes? I doubt that...lol! But, now, the DOJ can go git'em.
As Tres said above, the new NYS law gives CONGRESS the right to NYS tax returns. We can see your vindictive motives bleeding through our computer screens, which is 'well, if NY is going to get Trump's tax returns, then Trump's DOJ lackeys can get Clinton's NYS tax returns in retribution,' except the DOJ has no right to those returns. However, if Republicans want to see HRC's returns, the Republican controlled Senate can get her federal returns.

For people who have been strenuously arguing on these pages that such requests must have a legitimate legislative purpose, you have shown what hypocrites you guys are. There is no legitimate purpose to request HRC's returns. But, I am sure, unlike Trump, the Clintons have nothing to hide and would voluntarily give those returns if asked.

Of course, the act will backfire. The people will see this as politically motivated retribution.

Like I said:

The Senate is part of Congress and the Executive Branch is co-equal. Do you understand what co-equal means?

apdst can't get Hillary Clinton out of his mind. I think he's pouting now that he realizes that Trump won't be able to get his hands on her state tax returns.

He probably also thinks he could get Devin Nunes or one of the other Trump loving GOP reps to send him a copy of her returns. There isn't much else they can do with them. Maybe they're bored in Congress and need some reading material?

Like I said:

We all do.

Now, since you agree that Congress and the Executive Branch are co-equal, you expect the White House to fully cooperate with requests of their co-equal counterparts.

Those are Federal taxes. :lamo

What information of interest do you believe could be discovered about the Clinton's finances that could only be found in the state returns but not the federal returns? Or is this just an exercise in pedantry?

The same thing you expect to find in Trump's state returns.

I expect the state and federal tax returns to largely match eachother. We've seen Clinton's federal returns, so one likely won't learn much from reading the state returns. We haven't seen Trump's state or federal returns yet, so either one should provide one with lots of new information.

So, to clarify, I'm asking why you seem to be making such a big deal out of not seeing the Clinton's state returns, when you can read their federal returns?

He is just playing his endless passive aggressive game. Its the pathetic way he deals with getting smacked down over and over and over in actual debate.

More fun to just point and laugh at it.

The state returns wouldn't have any thing different than the federal so not sure what the distinction is.

It's yet to be proven that the president has lost anything, but I'll admit it makes for a great anti-Trump narrative.
When there's actual substantive proof of something, wake me up.

House sewercrat hysteria doesn't count. :naughty

I just love and admire your passion here. You are, of course, right also. The Trump cult is obsessed with HRC. They view a defense of Trump as not defending Trump making a legal case but to instead, attack Clinton. That is a strange calculation -- Clinton being 'guilty' (of whatever) means that Trump is innocent.

Yeah, because Trump hiring an army of lawyers and filing multiple lawsuits, violating subpoenas, etc. to keep his financial records secret can't possibly be because he knows there is scorchingly damning information in those records.

The anti-Trump cult is obsessed with Trump and more obsessed anytime Obama or Hillary's names are mentioned.
Why is that?

Lol!
