Ben Carson Confuses A Housing Term For A Cookie

No, it just proves how wrong Trix's post and argument was.

Are you trying to date her or something? You keep playing her hero today. That's sweet. But she's happily married.

The better question is, why do you need to derail threads with this petty :bs?
Yes, I got a minor detail in my post wrong which I have already acknowledged, but it didn't change my point so why point it out to begin with?-... unless of course, you have a need to be right. My detail was wrong, my argument was correct, so stop pretending you know everything.

ETA: ....
Last I heard, this is a public forum. American is free to post his opinion.
Leave my personal life out of your rants, and stop implying American is posting for some unbeknownst seedy reason.
You are better than this, tres.

You leave me sadly disappointed.
Shame on me if this happens again.

Is there a reason you always need to shout when pointing out the inane errors of others?
All that shouting didn't change my initial point though, did it?

Yes, to help people understand what part of his or her post I am referring to in my post.

Yes, it completely changed your point. I agree with you that Carson isn't drug addled or anything else. I already said that. But I didn't make something up to back up my comments on him. You did.

Aren't you the one who said this yesterday to someone else?

You should familiarize yourself with facts before guessing.

You're triggered again.

You wag your finger at others for not checking their facts (and of course, you did that not realizing that poster actually had read your links), but when you're called out on an untrue comment, you carry on like this.

Do as I say, not as I do? Is that your new schtick?

Really wish this was an Onion article. Yet another Trump appointee embarrasses him/herself in a congressional hearing. Congresswoman Porter asked Carson about REO rates, and he replied, “Oreos”. What an embarrassment of an administration.

Watch HUD Secretary Ben Carson confuse Oreo cookie with housing term - POLITICO

See more Carson gaffes from the hearing below.

Man, you guys are getting desperate! I wonder how many of the committee members new what she was talking about. Got anything else? :lamo

Seriously, I am tired of making the popcorn.
Going to stop visiting bait threads like these in the future.

IMO being head of HUD and not knowing what an REO is is complete incompetence. He got R=Real, E=Estate, and had to guess at the "O" - "Organization"?. No, the "O" is for "Owned". What happens when a property goes to foreclosure.

This is incompetence of the highest order. What does he do in his office all day if he doesn't even know the most basic facts?

Actually, when it comes to management of an agency as huge as HUD, knowing every acronym is not only unnecessary, at his level, it would be rare for him to be involved in such day to day matters. HUD has over 8,000 employees, with hundreds of supervisors, Dealing with these low level matters is delegated a good ways down the organizational flow chart. If a problem with REOs or anything else at the operations level should arise, so urgent that it demands his involvement, a report along with definitions, explanations, possible outcomes, desired outcomes, and so on would be in his hand, with assistants to keep him up to speed.

Some people come to this forum everyday triggered. And they constantly post sometimes a 100 posts in one day often just personally attacking other posters over non-superfluous bull ****. :lamo

Why did you quote me and tell me about how triggered you are?

REO properties are not a "low level matter" in HUD. The entire issue of foreclosures and the processes a financial institution must follow to foreclose are all under the auspices of HUD. HUD itself even hold REO properties. HUD is also responsible for the programs that a homeowner has access to in order to prevent foreclosure. By law a lender must provide the distressed homeowner with full information on the HUD contacts prior to foreclosing on a property. It is not a low level matter. In fact, it's one of HUD's biggest responsibilities.

Trump isn't bothered by this trifling ****, that's why all your attempts to sink him since 2016 have failed.

Attempts to sink him failed because Trump isn’t bothered? Do you read what you write?

They have failed because the Trumpcult doesn’t care their leader is an illiterate buffoon so long as he talks trash about those evil libs.

B

Very “Bidenesque”.

I suggest everyone calm down, except those who have never misspoke.

Biden is known as the walking gaffe machine ****** him. Now can we get back to Carson?

Secretary of HUD absolutely should know basic real estate terms.

"Her" acronyms are part of the department he runs. Don't you think he should understand the basics of the department he runs? This wasn't some obscure or just made up acronym, it's even on the HUD site.
Perhaps he doesn’t use acronyms because in Medicine they cause confusion and can be dangerous it’s considered good form if you use them to first say the full name then it’s OK to use an acronym after that. It’s not like he wanted to wipe a hard drive with a cloth.

Trumpists and especially fox talk radio when they had a slobbering love affair for Putin. Embracing tyrants to own the libs.

You just cant post something without showing yourself to be a hypocrite can you?

To be fair the evil libs give him plenty of amino

Then maybe Dr. Carson is better suited to HHS or CDC, just sayin’!

I cannot imagine Ben Carson with a sharp instrument anywhere near my skull, just sayin’!

I agree with one of those points

It would indeed be rare for Ben to be involved with HUDs day to day matters

Or any HUD matters

He’s too busy arranging and rearranging his china sets to be bothered with it. Probably for the best, anyways.

I said earlier that he'd be good for Surgeon General but even HHS and the CDC would be better suited for his background.

I passively know someone whose child was a patient of his. He was an exceptional surgeon. But that's his forte - not HUD. I still have no idea how he ended up with this job or why.

How would you know this unless some are actively spying on the Director of HUD?
Mind you, I wouldn't put the sewercrats past this kind of activity.

It is perfectly understandable that the head of HUD thought that a member of Congress was asking him about a couple of cream filled chocolate cookies in the middle of a committee meeting

It happens all the time!
He probably thought they wanted desert after fried chicken

It's below his level. If, for some reason, he was dealing with a HUD home, foreclosure, selling it, buying it, which won't happen, BUT....if it did, I'm sure he would be able to find the meaning of a acronym. You know, like ask the person using it, looking it up, even google, I mean c'mon man, it ain't brain surgery.;)

One of my great cousins squints his eyes like that. I find Ben adorable, smart, and a gentleman.

That's great. But that still doesn't make him competent. He can go be adorable elsewhere.
