Judge rules against Trump in lawsuit to block Democrats’ subpoena for financial records

Cohn went to jail for lying on a credit Application....why wouldn't Mueller have filed charges if Trump lied on a credit application? or some other financial crime involving RUSSIA transactions?

OLC states a sitting president cannot be indicted.
Mueller followed the rules, regs and policies.

iirc, DoJ policy is not to charge a sitting president

Could that policy have been relevant?

idk

with Mueller so many questions....really would like him to testify.

Have you read the Mueller report? He specifically laid out the reasons that the DOJ can't indict a sitting POTUS. And he also specifically laid out that any evidence of possible crimes that were discovered that weren't specifically "committing conspiracy with Russia" or "obstruction" were handed off to the FBI or other investigators. This is all common knowledge.

and Trump is still President....after they look at these bank doc Trump will still be President....according to Mueller a sitting President can't be indicted...what's the point?

Iirc, the House, the folks conducting the investigation, have a remedy other than indicting a sitting PotUS.

It has something to do with peaches or nectarines or some such.

so, maybe the point is for the House to gather info to use whil making its decision.

idk

Does that sound plausible to you?

It remains to be seen where this will end up. However, one thing is certain, the next Dem who sits in the White House will be buried in accusations, etc..

Sad our country has devolved politically to reach that point.

Does it also not clearly demonstrate how the executive branch has declared that congress has no oversight.
After all it is clear- trump will obstruct any oversight from the House, deny any and all subpoenas from documents to testimony

even if they get the records...what are the chances IRS hasn't been up Trumps ass for years? Obama never liked him....remember? had 8 years to look up his skirt.)

sets a bad precedence GOP will use it one day ...stupid begets stupid

At least you admitted that Trump wears a skirt.

Why not just spill the beans in Mueller report and Impeach from there?

All of this stuff is fruit of the poisonous tree imo....Crossfire Hurricane was illegal investigation...stay tuned

Now let's just hope that the same Federal judge will get the Deutsch Bank and tax return cases too.

Being serious, though, I'm pleasantly surprised to see that this ruling was made in such short order. If this is a sign of things to come, we may expect to see similar rulings on the other subpoenas over Trump's financial records with this speed.

In before trump supporters boo hoo over Trump's privacy.
I expect a similar ruling in that case.

The best part about a potential Mazars appeal? The appeals judge is, wait for it ...

No, wait for it some more ...

Merrick ****ing Garland.

Karma for Cocaine Mitch.

Impeachment, oversight, public accountability, future legislation etc.

At any point when Obama was president and the republicans were running investigations did you ever say "well he's still gonna be president, why would yall even investigate!"? Not to sound smug, but these are very simple questions that you're asking. You very likely could answer them all if you'd just say to yourself "flip the political parties involved, would I still think the same/ask the same questions?" You should really consider it.

****. that's ironic.

Do you think congress should have subpoenaed Obama school applications? see if he received financial help based on claim as foreigner? or see who paid for his schooling?

one big hunting expedition based on....just a hutch.....but we do have oversight?

It's just another Democratic Party **** show because they know darn well Trump's legal team will appeal.
When Trump's attorneys appeal, the Dems will say, "Oh look, Trump is trying to hide how corrupt he is from the American people." Their standard M/O... so dumb. ;)

In the appeal, Trump's team will say there are limits on Congress’s investigative authority and that the Dem's purpose is purely political.
I think in the end, Trump will win.

Iirc, the full text of the report has been blocked from the House.
So, that may have put a damper on it.

Also, there's an off chance that Mueller did not look at the things you assume I assume he looked at.

But any of my speculation about why some other thing is not happening is just speculation.

If Congress felt that they should've, then they should've.

If it's within Congress powers Trump should comply. However, it is shocking how radical and insane the Democrats have become weaponizing congressional powers to do anything they can to overturn an election they believe was owed to them. They put attacking the president ahead of legislating and trying to better America. Hopefully, all sane voters turn the House red again in 2020.

Judge rules against Trump in lawsuit to block Democrats''' subpoena for financial records

Not sure how anyone can be surprised by this. The judge didn't even order a stay as requested by the president's lawyers so that this ruling can be placed on hold pending appeal. Our country doesn't work if one branch can't provide checks and balances on another. Everyone should be happy regarding this ruling.

Edit: Heres a link to the judges opinion.

Now we get to see if crime is still illegal.

how mad would Nadler get if he asks Muller under oath..."Mr Mueller did you look into all financial exchanges between Trump Inc and Russian connections"? and Mueller says Yes/No whats worse?

He'll probably be overseeing any appeal on the Deutsche bank case, too.

Part is here
Judge rules against Trump in lawsuit to block Democrats''' subpoena for financial records
Mehta wrote in a 41-page memorandum opinion that while “there are limits on Congress’s investigative authority ... those limits do not substantially constrain Congress.”

Last one is here
Judge orders Trump accounting firm to hand over records to Congress - CNNPolitics
Mazars has seven days until it will have to comply with the subpoena, Mehta said in his opinion Monday, but the judge refused to halt the subpoena after that. Another court would have to do so. Trump's team has not yet appealed the ruling.

What investigations? Obama never had any investigations or scandals in 8 years. )

There were plenty of investigations. Just no scandals cause they never found anything. That's why republicans had to essentially lie about anything and everything for 8 years. Death Panels, he's coming for your guns, hes muslim, he wasn't born here etc.

how mad would Nadler get if he asks Muller under oath..."Mr Mueller did you look into all financial exchanges between Trump Inc and Russian connections"? and Mueller says Yes/No whats worse?

It may be possible that Trumpco et al had business exchanges with folks who were not Russian.

idk

What do you think?
Can you tell what the chances of that are?
