Bill Barr reveals Russia probe review to focus on Trump dossier briefing, leaking | Fox News

Attorney General Bill Barr, in an exclusive interview with Fox News, revealed that the recently announced review of the origins of the Russia probe will focus in part on a controversial briefing that intelligence officials gave President Trump shortly before he took office in 2017.

Barr told Fox News’ Bill Hemmer in the interview aired Friday that one portion of the review -- which he has tapped U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead -- would cover the time period between Election Day and Inauguration Day, saying “some very strange developments” took place during that time.

Barr specifically was referring to the early January 2017 briefing intelligence officials gave then-president-elect Trump at Trump Tower, and “the leaking of information subsequent to that meeting.” At that meeting, Trump was briefed by intelligence and law enforcement officials on Russian election meddling -- and was also informed by former FBI Director James Comey about the now-infamous anti-Trump dossier which included salacious allegations against him. Details later leaked to the press.
Time to go back to the beginning to find out how this all started.

He should go a hell of a lot further than election day. There was a movement afoot months before election day.

Why do you assume he won't based on one article?

I hope he does but...... Trump has tweeted that the FBI has committed treason. Projecting is a curious defence mechanism.

Interesting that he said nothing about the long stated conservative claim, that the FBI lied to the FISA court in order to get a warrant to allegedly spy on Trump's campaign, because they wanted to use investigative measures to sabotage Trump's campaign and presidency.

I guess he knows the IG report that conservatives have been saying would prove their deep state claims, is in fact going to undermine that narrative, and so he's coming up with a new one.

If this is the case I will be happy to offer a signature professing how I was wrong to believe right wings news like Hannity. Will you be willing to offer the same signature wager if you are wrong about FISA abuses and profess Hannity was right about the deep state corruption?

Posted that interview for anyone wanting to see it in it's entirety.

True they gave him a full briefing about the Russian interference operation and were absolutely stunned afterwards when Trump, nor anyone else on his team there, did not ask them a single question about the Russian operation. Not even one. All the Trump people did was to gather together off to the side of the intelligence briefing team to discuss amongst themselves how they were going spin it politically. Almost as if the intelligence people weren't even in the room there with them. They were flabbergasted. The only question Trump asked of any them was about alleged golden shower tape to Comey after Comey had briefed him aside privately about the dossier. And that was it. Other than that they didn't seem to care anything about or any curiosity as to what our intelligence people knew about the nut and bolts of the Russian operation, what the Russian objectives or plans were, or what measures were being taken now, or what measures could be taken in the future to stop them from them from doing it again. All things that make you go hmmmm..

It all started when an abnormal number on the Trump campaign staff were meeting secretly with Russians.

i mean, who hasn't tried to set up a secret back channel with Putin?

Sure, but we have to be specific on what we say will/won't be found to each other.

If you're saying the FBI abused the FISA court system, you're accusing them of intentionally lying to the court (perjury), correct? At least, that's what Hannity and the Federalist have been saying.

So, if that's found, I'll indeed declare in a signature that Hannity was right. OTOH, should that crime not be found, you have to profess you were wrong to believe him.

And that is the reason Durham has been working with the IG for weeks and empaneled a grand jury.. because its a big nothing burger.

Comey only gave Trump an abbreviated Dossier predominately containing the Golden Showers portion. Of course Trump knew it was a lie designed to damage him politically.

Bet you believed the phony Russian collusion story? Yup I would say yes!
Did you see the PapaD interview where he said someone gave him 10K in Greece . He was suspicious and left the money in Greece. He was arrested in the airport in the US when he returned they searched him for the money. He believes it was setup and wants Durham to inspect the money.

I think this sounds fair and reasonable. Say the losing sig has to be carried for what at least 30 days?

Bill Barr is a fat asshole, a Toadie for trump, this will amount to nothing

I gather the Biden/Ukraine thing didn't pan out.

I bet you believe it was phony and a hoax.

In other words you haven't read the report and are only repeating right wing propaganda...
