Former national security adviser Michael Flynn told investigators that people linked to the Trump administration and Congress reached out to him in an effort to interfere in the Russia probe, according to newly-unredacted court papers filed Thursday.

The court filing from special counsel Robert Mueller is believed to mark the first public acknowledgement that a person connected to Capitol Hill was suspected of engaging in an attempt to impede the investigation into Russian election interference.

“The defendant informed the government of multiple instances, both before and after his guilty plea, where either he or his attorneys received communications from persons connected to the Administration or Congress that could’ve affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation,” the court papers say.

Nobody should be surprised that "people linked to the Trump administration and Congress" tried to interfere in the Russia probe. I'd be willing to take some bets as to who in Congress tried to obstruct justice. Was he threatened or was he bribed. If Congress is ever allowed to do their jobs, we may eventually find the answers to those questions.

William Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein determined that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the matter further. TOADIES!

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise. Let deflect-o-rama begin.

The Trump administration (especially Barr) is doing everything possible to suppress information/testimony of criminality in the Mueller Report.

Time to activate "Operation Mike Flynn is a Lying Piece of Crap!"

Trump: I fired Mike Flynn, because he was a liar! He's still a liar! He's a lyin' liar! Believe me!

Saw this on the news when it broke last night. So even the Republican stooges in Congress are guilty of trying to obstruct justice. How surprising (not). How much you want to be it was that toad Devin Nunes?

He'll say "I hardly knew Mike Flynn. I thought he was a coffee boy."

Question, when you say "people tied to trump", are you just using that as a euphemism that trump himself tried to obstruct justice?

We already knew this.

Time to impeach.

Grow a spine, dims.

Why do you suppose that not one of those unnamed people was charged with obstruction of justice by the Mueller team? Perhaps they are unnamed because they were either charged with other crimes (also accepted plea deals) or there was not enough evidence present to overcome "reasonable doubt" - after all, those convicted of lying to the FBI do not make the best witnesses.

I don't know if you heard but people are calling him Lyin' Mike. That's what they call him these days, Lyin' Mike. I hear people say it all the time, people ask me all the time, they say why did you fire Lyin' Mike? That's why I call him Lyin' Mike, that's what people are calling him now, at least that's what people are saying.

Dear lored abuff; unreal.

It's a conspiracy theory invented by middle school girls.

Instead of:

Well, I talked to Taylor and she said that Emily told Jennifer and Ashleigh that Jason REALLY likes Jessica's hair better than Kendall's - can you BELIEVE it? I mean, Jessica is SUCH a slut!

It's:

Trump is a slut with ugly hair who has no friends and should just go die because Robert (who is supes dreamy) heard from Michael (who I heard secretly likes Alexandria - gross!) that somebody told Adam (ew!) that he saw Trump totally kiss a girl on a Russian airplane that I heard somebody who has a crush on Vlad (vomit!) flew on!

Oh come on - Donald is gross and has super-cooties - EVERYBODY knows!

You are incorrect as usual. More trolling comments from you and nothing more. Thank you for proving me right about you.

You members of the "resistance" really need to get a new obsession. How long will it take for you to face reality?
Consider putting your energy into putting up a candidate that can actually beat Trump in 2020.
There is no future in your current course of action.

We might know if the DOJ would release the rest of the Mueller Report and the footnotes to Congress. It may be that what was needed was Flynn's corroboration.

What a hoot ...

The only fact in those articles is that Flynn told Mueller he was contacted by members of the Trump administration and Congress.

"... that could’ve affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation ..." is Mueller's way of admitting: Okay, nothing happened, but let's not exclude that something could have happened.

Donald Trump is not "people linked to the Trump administration and congress" but probably does have super-cooties.

Oh please.

[Unnamed] persons!

That's slut-speak for "I totally made out with him and it wasn't super-gross but now I kind of feel like Mitch thinks I'm a whore."

This is just the latest in an unending cornucopia of cynical derangement courtesy of the "Look - a squirrel!" crowd that refuses to condemn or correct massive Democrat criminality, but insists Trump is the bastard offspring of Hitler and Satan.

It's dangerous, it's insane, it's destructive, and guess what?

It'll backfire.

Totes backfire.

Like that super-skanky dress Angelina wore last week - who was she kidding?

Incorrect on your part, your trolling comments ignored.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

They think Nancy actually likes them.

As if!

What was redacted "may be" almost anything (or not related to this at all) which makes this "breaking news" which lacks anything but a summary of "cooperation" being used to justify a lighter sentence (coming soon?) for Flynn rather vague and useless.

Eating nothing burgers now means total thigh gap later; Kamala will look SO hot when she loses in 2020!

He'll say "I hardly knew Mike Flynn. I thought he was a coffee boy."

Same old sleaze, different day. The cultists are too busy practicing their glossolalia that their cult leader inspires to understand any facts.

It was ever thus...

The last I heard (on the radio while driving) was that a federal judge ordered the full unredacted tape with names be transcribed and released by next week. I don't remember the date.

One major problem the public has is the lack of transparency. We don't know what we don't know. The administration doesn't want anyone to have information. We can only speculate.
