Key House Democrat plans to take 'enforcement action' against Justice Department

Federal highways are under the purview of the Federal Government, federal lands, all federally built and maintained infrastructure. I don't know where this Glitch guy gets his info from but he needs to demand a refund.
Sounds like Prager University.
Based on the post you were responding to, it appears Glitch wants to abolish Congress.

Starting to sound like somebody is bordering on unhinged. Now the entire democratic process, and the Democratic Party itself is invalid and worthy of attack.
He says he despises Trump but bowing to an authoritarian strongman seems to make him moist.
Wow.

We are all connected, by stupidity.

There was some chicanery afoot. But I think McConnel holding up Garland is unforgivable. Also Republicans broke the record on filibuster then scorched harry Reid for going nuclear. And now use that as an example to become more extreme. They are the grave diggers of American politics imo.

And don't even get me started on their attack dogs in the media.

The OTHER horrible party, yes.

Remember what Chuck Schumer said - all elected officials must do everything the intelligence communities want or they will destroy that politician. After ranting we MUST all accept anything anyone in the DOJ, FBI and CIA says - now the Democratic Party does another 180 going on the attack.

Never think there is anything any Democratic official or MSM talking head says has any integrity or truth to it. It is more likely than not within a year they'll be ranting and sobbing the exact opposite. There is no truth, no intellectual integrity in anything they say because they are perfectly amoral.

Schumer is a special kind of dangerous, hypocritical scumbag.

The comment you reference should have led to his departure from the Senate.

I do think more and more people are beginning to feel exactly that way. Not that I have the numbers to back that up. It's just I have the feeling that after 2 1/2 years of this stuff, with the Mueller report out, enough is enough. It could be seen as piling it on for a partisan political advantage. If so, it might just backfire.

I actually think we were past the enough is enough stage a couple of years ago...

The Democrats are digging their own political graves with the witch hunt.

Its irresponsible to run around making allegations that you cant back up. They kept telling everyone to wait for the Mueller report, now its done. Make the case or move on.

I'm not surprised; the Puters have morphed into Peachers, but the obsession and underlying psychology are the same.

They will NEVER let it go that the vampire lost to the pig.

Then kindly don't quote me and start with "You...on the left..." Thanks.

And although I don't want to see impeachment, Pelosi and the House Judiciary Committee might not have a choice. Trump is flaunting his corrupt and illegal behavior; the Democratic base (i.e. voters) may insist, because doing nothing makes the party look weak and impotent, not to mention sets an abysmal precedent for future presidential behavior.

Which I have said before in this very thread; apparently you missed it.

What makes the Democrat Party look weak (and abysmal) is a complete refusal to address their criminal conduct in 2016.

The cynical shift of focus from their own actual chicanery to Trump's imaginary misdeeds, and continued channeling of the irrational grief of Clinton's supporters into first the collusion delusion, and now the impeachment obsession?

Appalling.

Not everybody on the left is a democrat, but everybody on the left is delusional if they believe Pelosi will start impeachment proceedings.

Very, very few on the left are Democrats.

2016 was when the final divorce papers arrived.

The contents of the bill, and the fact that they gave up. Too busy with political investigations.

I'm reading conservative estimates (not politically conservative) that this nation is in need of more than $30 trillion of rebuilding money over the next ten years, and another $20 tril for new infrastructure construction over the same period of time or the costs will treble during the following decade. $2 trillion won't cover much more than soft costs. That covers everything from rebuilding highways, train tunnels and tracks, harbor dredging and clean water initiatives, levees, international and domestic airports, bridges and commuter tunnels, river recovery, reforesting, mine cleanups, toxic cleanups, fish husbandry, coral repair, beach reconstruction, new energy sources and repair and upgrading of the national power grid, Federal park reconstruction, and so on, and on, and on and...........

The jobs that would be created alone are worth the investment, but we don't have enough workers, skilled workers and the birthrate is dropping despite Alabama. How many can operate a bull dozer, a road grader, do stake surveys, spin cable on bridges, operate core drilling equipment for tunnels, ah, the tasks are endless. The workers insufficient and in need of training. How much do you really think $2 trillion will accomplish?

There's always money for floods, but not quality levees. What will we do about the water shortage already appearing in the west? Shall we see more barriers on the California borders for Okies? Those responsible for governing must start developing long term solutions and leave the quibbling for online critics with too much time on their hands. Hmm, more forest fires because we've removed the predators from our lands and the deer destroy the water retaining shrubbery and grasses as they feed, and ranchers worry about a few sheep and cattle which will die from thirst. Encourage a few more wolves, buffalo herds, the fauna that makes our lands stronger. Restrict housing and commercial development where it is a threat to our lives. Governers need to govern. That is why the people elected them. Not because of how much they spend to get elected, but for doing for the nation. We don't need income redistribution when jobs go begging, we need the right education of skills for those jobs. And if need be, let's bring in the immigrants willing and able to work for our prosperity and fiscal health. There is always work for masons, plumbers, carpenters, with skills. It takes quality governance to see the light.

Don't talk to me about forlorn, forgotten baby steps that stopped at a wall.

Some excellent points.

The Obama DOJ turned over millions of papers relating to the Clinton private server investigation, which was an unprecedented document request, so it's you that's spreading known falsehoods.

Your the ones ****ting on the law and constitution that you say you care about sooooo much.

What you are witnessing is old school bare knuckles politics. Fun is it not? I suspect it gets even uglier soon. Wonderful fun. I look forward to the beat downs.

Enough is enough. It is long past time for key democrats to do the job they were hired to do, govern. They can start by examining, investigating the state of the American infrastructure, going on from the knowledge they gain to plan rebuilding and new construction. Far more important than political game playing.

Do you realize how many bills were passed by democrats that died on the Senate floor because Mitch McConnell flatly refused to take it to a vote in the Senate? People don't understand that bills ARE being passed in the House. They are good bills and written and voted on in a bipartisan manner in the House. But Mitch McConnell thinks he's God and those bills get shuffled back to the garbage heap. Mitch McConnell has given himself the nickname 'grim reaper' for killing Democratic bills. It's something he's actually proud of. Is this what you mean when you refer to "political game playing"?

There are many so many bills that died on the Senate floor that nobody is even aware of. One of them in particular is HR-1 which House democrats just passed. It is a slate of significant reforms to get money out of politics. Basically, it's an anti-corruption bill and already, it's doomed in the Senate. The sweeping bill is aimed at getting money out of politics and increasing transparency around donors, cracking down on lobbying, and expanding voting rights for Americans by implementing provisions like automatic voter registration. Democrats are indeed acting on core pieces of their agenda passing legislation to curb gun violence, tackle the gender pay gap and bolster Obamacare, but the Senate has ignored the legislation.

Charles Schumer is calling on Mitch McConnell to hold a vote on the House-passed 'Equality Act', which bans anti-LGBT discrimination. the House approved the bill Friday by a 236-173 margin, with eight Republicans joining every Democrat in voting for the legislation. The bill would expand the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Fair Housing Act to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, jury selection or public accommodations based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Remember the happy announcement outside of the White House by Pelosi ad Schummer about the 2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill that Trump agreed to? It was a package that would rebuilt our roads, tunnels, bridges and dams. It looked hopeful, for a moment anyway. It was a rare moment of democratic-Trump bipartisanship. So what happened to that bill? On May 10th, Sarah Sanders admitted that Congress will likely not pass President Donald Trump's massive infrastructure plan this year. Uh-huh --- so deep six that infrastructure plan.

House Democrats in the energy committee released an infrastructure bill this past Wednesday focused on combating climate change that would dedicate tens of billions of dollars to renewable energy and energy efficiency. More than $33 billion would go to clean energy, including $8 billion for grid upgrades to accommodate and expand the use of more renewable energy. More than $2 billion would be used to install solar panels in low-income and under-served neighborhoods and communities.

I could give you links that list every single piece of legislation proposed by a democrat in the House of Representatives that had gone nowhere. So please, stop blaming the democrats for not getting bills passed, because THEY ARE.

Do you realize how many bills were passed by democrats that died on the Senate floor because Mitch McConnell flatly refused to take it to a vote in the Senate?

Now do tell how distraction from governing makes for infrastructure improvements?

And no, that bill presented an insignificant drop in the bucket. Whine, whine, whine.

No, you 'do tell' why Mitch McConnell likes being known as the 'grim reaper'. Do you think he enjoys busting balls by not allowing any bills passed in the House to be put on the Senate floor for a vote? You bet he does.

I think it's going to take the women of the democratic party to show the guys how to grow some balls. My opinion swings from yes to no on an almost daily basis, however, it's time to start playing hardball with these criminal republicans. Has our country gotten so out of hand blatantly breaking the law no longer matters as long as it comes from the executive branch of the government when a republican is sitting there? Start impeachment hearings against the AG and the prez. We all know the senate will never go along. The dems can then use those facts when election time comes around again. The obstructionist republicans save the lawless president again. Most of america is tired of trump and his administration's antics. It's time for some integrity back in the oval office. A demented liar does not deserve to sit there for four more years.

One party - either party - presenting bills they know have no chance of becoming law is gamesmanship, not leadership.

Democrat political suicide?

Count me in.

:)

I'm not a Republican. Mitch the bitch is not my responsibility. You tell us why? On the other hand, I don't care. Don't bother.

You look good in black. An improvement.

Perhaps you can explain why democrats are such whiney wimps?

One party - either party - presenting bills they know have no chance of becoming law is gamesmanship, not leadership.

Indeed. Which is what the GOP did when they controlled the House and the Democrats controlled the Senate. They passed the repeal of Obamacare 39 times while Obama was President. Yet can't seem to manage to pass it once while Trump is President. Why am I not surprised?

Now the Democrats in the House are getting the exact same treatment while Republicans control the Senate. What goes around, comes around. A lesson Democrats never seem to learn.

When the Republicans demanded the entire FBI file on the Clinton investigation and all 302's relating to underlying evidence, interviews, etc, the DOJ was told by Chaffetz "you don't get to decide what I see, I get to see all of it!", and the DOJ turned over the entire Clinton FBI file to the Republicans.

When the Republicans demanded hundreds of thousands of documents relating to the ongoing Russia investigation, the FBI turned over those documents, too.

These were unprecedented requests, that the DOJ and FBI eventually caved to, but now they are refusing to do the same for the Democratic committees, and refusing to turn over a single document.

Adam Schiff plans to take 'enforcement action' against Justice Department - CNNPolitics

BTW, the law allows grand jury information relating to intelligence matters to be turned over to the intelligence committees, so don't anybody give me that "they're asking Barr to break the law!" ****, because that doesn't apply here at all.

Enough is enough. Barr has politicized the DOJ, mislead Congress, purposely slow walked the SCO report, and has refused to turn over documents that the DOJ has previously given Republicans.

Just impeach him.

Democrats are in serious trouble. Barr has appointed a special prosecutor to look into the mischief which produced the investigation into phony Trump/Russian collusion. Democrats stand to lose more than just the 2020 election if they cannot stop Barr and the investigation into political corruption behind the illegal and immoral democrat efforts to destroy Trump. Several key democrats could end up in prison.

I wouldn't count the Democrats out yet, they have their media sycophants. They could simply pretend Barr's investigation never happened by not reporting it. Mainstream media is infamous for what it doesn't report. CNN, ABC, NBC, and CBS will pick their favorite Democrat candidate and shower them with praise and keep them spotless from any dirt Barr might throw up. They've been doing this since 1992, so they are old pros at it now.

I don't count them out. Wicked men have gotten away with murder for thousands of years. Democrats are no different. They often skate while others are buried by brute police enforcement. Manafort was seized in the middle of the night and taken to solitary confinement while his cohort in the crime was never charged because he was closely allied to Hillary Clinton.

What the Democrats are doing to Barr is Obstruction of Justice. The Democrats are trying to undermine an investigation into the front end of the collusion delusion. These front end crimes must have been really bad, since the Democrat leadership views their attempt at Obstruction of Justice, as the lessor of two evils, that can bite them.

Think about it. When Trump complained about the Mueller investigation and threatened to fire Mueller, which he never did, this was called obstruction of justice by the Democrats. By their own standard, with the shoe on the other foot, threats of impeachment, obstruction and contempt, against Trump and Barr, are all attempts at obstruction, so the investigation can be undermined. Pelosi is walking the fence of impeachment, which means she is offering to take this off the table, if Trump lets sleeping dogs lie; obstruction and witness tampering.

People like Numes, who requested documents, was slowed walked for over two years by the bureaucratic state. Trump is giving the Democrats a taste of their own medicine, with his version of bureaucratic foot dragging. Trump is not recognizing the dual standards that the Democrats used to get away with.

An interesting note is the former AG to Obama, Eric Holder, was treated the same way by the Republicans, as Barr is being treated by the Democrats. Holder, was connected to a gun giveaway scam where the US government funneled guns to gangs and criminals. The goal was to created a negative political backdrop, to help get rid of the second Amendment; Operation Fast and Furious.

Holder refused to cooperate and was charged with obstruction. His Obstruction case and the document request is still going through the legal process 6 years later. The Republicans learned from these Democrat games, and know they have the plenty of time to spare, as their round up the criminals. Once the criminals are rounded up, the bogus legal case will have nobody to fight on.

Impeachment in my opinion is a waste of time, energy and money if you don't have at least 50% of independents favoring it.
.

Also a waste of time without a High crime or misdemeanor.

HR1 on May 18th JUST PASSED. Do you see any problem with your logic?
