When CivicScience, a Pittsburgh-based market research firm, polled more than 3,200 Americans on the issue of mathematics instruction last week, 56% of the respondents said Arabic numerals should not be taught in American schools; 29% said it should be part of the curriculum, while 16% offered no opinion.

How dumb can people be? NOTE: America has been using Arabic numerals since......... um, since before the founding of America. LOL.

I didn't see the others, but I checked just now, and this is the only one in breaking news Mainstream Media. You can join the conversation, or you can leave. The choice is yours.

See post #5

Reminds me of when the Man Show circulated a petition among females to "End Woman's Suffrage" and how enthusiastic those ladies were about signing it.

See post 8 which says please stop acting like a jerk.

I think they remove your sense of humour when you join the Republican Party.
With a fish-hook through your nose.

Theres 10 knds of people- those who understand the binary system and those who don't.

Relevance? Who cares?

Is our children learning?

These are the same people who are going to vote!

Truly...most days I weep for the future of our nation.

Yet despite all its flaws, America is still #1! :ind:

Onion piece?

Too bizarre.

Chicago Tribune. Got any opinion on the matter, or are you just here to bait and troll? If you have an opinion, I'd like to hear it.

أنا غاضب. ;)

Do I win the 99 cent cigar?

I assume that's accurate, and I quoted it to see how many 'letters.' Fascinating seeing a language in a different form. Even deleting the 'letters' one at a time doesn't work normally - I guess the system deletes from right to left like it's read. Pretty interesting to be as ignorant as I am about a major language..... :(

LOL.

These people are obviously smart enough to know that you shouldn't send your children to university. Wouldn't want them getting indoctrinated by a socialist.

I hope they do the next poll on algebra. :) Pretty soon Americans will be marching in the streets, demanding schools quit teaching "Muslim Math."
