Barr assigns US attorney in Connecticut to look into government surveillance involving Trump campaig

And there is exactly your problem.

Ummm, so what in the linked Quora post that was presented as historical fact was not historical fact?

Or are you just doing a blind ad-hom with no evidence?

LOL

You must have read a different report. The Mueller Report plainly stated there was no collusion.

Now, if I were a Hillary fan, I'd be real nervous about what could be coming down the pipe with the investigation into her, and those who tried to manipulate a National Election.

Maybe she could move to the Ukraine?

Hardly:

“Further, the Office learned that some of the individuals we interviewed or whose conduct we investigated — including some associated with the Trump Campaign — deleted relevant communications or communicated during the relevant period using applications that feature encryption or that do not provide for long-term retention of data or communications records. In such cases, the Office was not able to corroborate witness statements through comparison to contemporaneous communications or fully question witnesses about statements that appeared inconsistent with other known facts.

Accordingly, while this report embodies factual and legal determinations that the Office believes to be accurate and complete to the greatest extent possible, given these identified gaps, the Office cannot rule out the possibility that the unavailable information would shed additional light on (or cast in a new light) the events described in the report.”

Kinda funny how the Trumpists went on and on about how expensive the Mueller investigations were (the made a profit) and now they are pushing for another investigation...

Sent from my Honor 8X using Tapatalk

Of course they are, the cultists are huge hypocrites. An investigation against Trump is a witch hunt, it's too expensive, it's politically motivated, blah blah blah. But a politically motivated investigation in the other direction...well that's just all fine and dandy. Who cares how much it will end up costing.

lol

i am inclined in the opposite direction
if there is a possibility of government wrongdoing, then let's investigate it
as an example, i will cite BENGHAZI!
notice how nothing untoward was ever found, despite the multiple, ongoing investigations
i expect the same result in this instance
so, let's await the investigator's report and then decide which party gets to wear egg on their face as a result

many of us correctly point to tRump hiding information despite his instance he has nothing to hide
likewise, if there is no genuine basis for the investigation, then let's not oppose the investigation but instead celebrate the opportunity to reveal that there was nothing wrong with the actions taken to determine if team tRump was playing footsie with team putin

Well, then clearly we need to investigate the investigators from the Benghazi fiasco.

Let’s have another investigation and make more profits! Profits are good No?

It’s amusing that suddenly, very suddenly, investigations are bad news for the left! Yes?

You would be correct.

I know the House and Senate held their investigations into what started the Russia investigation. In fact, you can actually say at least three such investigations have been held since House Republicans conducted theirs and House Democrats soon followed with a counter-investigation of their own which stated that it was surveillance of Carter Page that started the Obama Administration down this road.

This is nothing more that Pres. Trump's AG appointee, William Barr, following through on Trump's insistence that the AG use Justice Department lawyers to investigation this matter, re: FISA abuses, because they have "prosecutorial power". (Mueller Report, page 110, Volume II, Footnote 768)

There are already 2 investigations going on. One by IG Horowitz. One being led by US Attorney Huber in Utah.

According to what I have read this morning, Trey Gowdy implicates John Brennan more than Comey as to how the biased, mostly uncorroborated, unverified Steele dossier was found to be a weapon used to obtain the FISA warrant.

Trey Gowdy says John Brennan in more dossier peril than James Comey

During an interview on Fox News, the former Republican congressman from South Carolina discussed a document he saw as a leading GOP investigator before his retirement from Congress.

"I think that it's one more place for Mr. Durham to start," Gowdy said, referring to U.S. Attorney John Durham, who has been tasked by Attorney General William Barr to look into the origins of the Russia investigation.

"That's a pretty easy thing to sort out, who insisted that the dossier or the unverified material from Chris Steele be included," he said. "But ... sometimes when you have two people, I can tell from you having been in the courtroom, sometimes when people are blaming each other, they are both right. It's both of them. And I think it's interesting Brennan and Comey right now, the only thing they seem to share is a hatred for Donald Trump. It's going to be interesting if they begin to turn on one another. I've seen the document. I'm not going to describe it any more than that, Comey's got a better argument than Brennan based on what I have seen."

Do you have a citation to support this assertion? Seriously, I'd like to look it up, as I don't think that was addressed, but I may have missed it.

Mueller Report, Volume I, page 66, second paragraph:

[In particular,] the investigation examined whether these contacts involved or resulted in coordination or a conspiracy with the
Trump Campaign and Russia, including with respect to Russia providing assistance to the Campaign in exchange for any sort of favorable treatment in the future. Based on the available information, the investigation did not establish such coordination.

Yep Gowdy is one of the few congressmen who were allowed to see the most sensitive documents and he says its worse than has been reported. I suspect Trump will declassify most of it after the IG report is released.

I have no doubt much of it will eventually get declassified. The chain of emails between Brennan and Comey seem to be something a lot of people are focusing on. I am getting curious exactly what is in them.

First we saw Clapper, Brennan, and Comey out there trashing AG Barr as soon as he made his spying comments. Then Comey went one further and trashed Rosenstein. Next day Rosenstein trashed Comey. And today I heard Comey and Brennan are at odds over whose idea it was to include the Dossier in the FISA application. Clapper appears to be backing Brennan. Last year we saw McCabe turn on Comey when Comey said he was unaware of McCabe leaking to the press.
It looks like they are turning on each other.

:popcorn2:

This is Pres. Trump using his executive power in an attempt to root out disloyalty as opposed to having the IG conduct an internal audit of the FBI to determine if it used proper procedures for issuing FISA warrants. It's overkill, but this is Trump's style.

That's because Trump is a vengeful man who is still steaming that Clinton bested him in the national vote count. He's never going to get over that. Nor will his supporters, who all share his hatred for the FBI because he's sexy and some members of the FBI didn't love him.

its always the coverup the idiots mess up.

I’m guessing Comey & McCabe made plenty.

Brennan & Clapper have changed tune lately.

Who’s gonna flip first?

There is the question. When does somebody flip? To do what they did they are of very questionable character and one of them will flip to save themselves.

So the fun begins when the investigation into the investigation yields fruit. Watch the democrats cry foul at the start and until the end.

Do you actually believe this tripe you posted? And that's Mr. President.............. ;)

I wouldn't go as far as to ever call Donald Trump sexy, not even when he was in his prime. Charming, charismatic, influential certainly. But sexy...no.

in 2017 Jeff Sessions assigned the Utah US attorney to look into this. There is also an IG investigation going on at this time. So why is this one needed?

Attorney General William Barr said Wednesday that he is looking into efforts by the FBI to investigate members of the Trump campaign before the 2016 election, saying he believes "spying” took place and he needs to be sure it was justified.

“I think spying did occur,” Barr said during a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing. “But the question is whether it was adequately predicated and I’m not suggesting it wasn’t adequately predicated, but I need to explore that.”

“I am going to be reviewing both the genesis and the conduct of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign during 2016,” Barr told lawmakers. “A lot of this has already been investigated and a substantial portion that’s being investigated is being investigated by the Office of the Inspector General of the department.”

In later remarks, Barr attempted to clarify his statement, saying he was concerned that “improper surveillance” may have occurred in 2016 and he was "looking into it."

"I am not saying that improper surveillance occurred. I'm saying that I am concerned about it and looking into it. That's all," he said.

I never heard anyone address him as "Mr. President Trump", sorry. His name is Trump. Her name is Clinton. Or should we call her "Madame Secretary Clinton"? I noticed you didn't mention that.

Yes, I believe what I posted. No, it isn't tripe.

Charming? Not even close, no. Not even in his prime. Charismatic? Sure. Jim Jones was charismatic, too. Influential? Yes. Like Kim Kardashian.

the noose tightens

“I’ve seen the spreadsheet, Martha, I have seen each factual assertion listed in that dossier, and then I’ve seen the FBI’s justification. And when you’re citing newspaper articles as corroboration for a factual assertion that you have made, you don’t need an FBI agent to go do a Google search,” said Gowdy, who served on the House Intelligence Committee and is a Fox News contributor.

So, if there are two open investigations already this one is for show then?
