NYT: Trump’s Trade War Escalation Will Exact Economic Pain, Adviser Says

Yes.

The alternative Conservative universe... where budget surpluses are bad, and high real estate prices mean low demand. When Democrats are in charge.

So does your state pay deficit service or debt service? Budget surpluses aren't bad unless you create those surpluses by kicking the state problems down the road which California and liberals always do

You seem to have a real loyalty to the state o California, wonder if the homeless, those in poverty feel the same way?

If they don't, they can always go to Texas where houses are cheap and jobs plentiful.

Odd that you want to talk about anything but high real estate prices in California.

Maybe it’s because you DO understand supply and demand, but have a fixed ideology that doesn’t conform with reality.

Yes, liberal arrogance on full display, people are indeed moving to TX for low wages, no health insurance, high pollution because they don't know any better and need the nanny state like you have in California. Homes are cheaper in Texas because supply is plentiful in TX, a concept you will never understand or don't care to learn about

I understand what you don't builders aren't going to California because of the massive costs of doing business in California, My "fixed" ideology is one of logic, common sense, and the understanding of the private sector including incentive that you don't

What are you talking about? I've already said that houses are expensive in California due to supply and demand. If houses in Texas are plentiful, then it follows that they will be less expensive.

Since it is the poor who are moving out of California, it follows that the first part of your post is right on.

Builders are busy in the Golden State, mostly building large high end homes for the wealthy people who keep moving there.

It will exact some pain, but it's a necessary price to stick it to China. I don't think most people understand the threat and humanitarian crisis China poses to the world. We cannot continue to allow them to abuse US (and other foreign) businesses and enable their rise to superpower status. We have a moral obligation to decouple and exact economic pain on China and push for the destruction/destabilization of the Chinese Communist Party.

So you believe it is a poor that are leaving California? Do you really live in a personal bubble where you are clueless about what goes on in your own state? It isn't the poor moving out it is retiring as well as the taxpayers to be replaced by illegals and those looking for a free lunch which California offers

I posted a link explaining the housing crisis in California, I'm not going to do it again because you ignored it the problem is Supply in California and the massive regulations, EPA, taxes and permitting process the builders have to go through there

So, you think it's all on the supply side, not demand?

And yet the population of the state is approaching 40 million. Interesting. Actually, inexpensive houses are still available in parts of California, parts that have less demand for houses. How do you explain that?

San Francisco used to be one the most beautiful in the country that has turned into a homeless hell hole of radicals who have destroyed the city. You can bury your head in the sand, support your state, and have zero credibility, your choice. guess it is always easier to bury your head in the sand vs. address or even recognize the issue.

Of course it is about both but address the supply, make it easier for builders to build homes and that will handle the demand.

What demand?

You said everyone is leaving CA because of its liberal hellhole qualities... like high housing costs.

So many people want to live in CA, they’d rather be homeless there than have a home in some red state!

There is more to California than San Francisco. Of course, if you have the bucks you can live in SF:

Or, you could opt to live in Bakersfield:

Some places have a high demand for housing, others not so much. Generally, a high demand for houses means a lot of people want to live there.

Why would they want to do that?

When Red States sends its people, they're not sending their best ... They're sending people that have lots of problems...they're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Better to keep housing prices high. That works far better than any wall to keep Red Staters out.

Where are they going to build more houses in the LA or SF areas? Did you check out the availability of land with water?

This is an absolute waste of time, you want to defend California and have no credibility so be it

Now that we have that out of the way, of course there are lots of homeless people in CA. It's got a great climate to start with. It's got great beaches. Beautiful vistas. Even homeless people recognize a good thing.

You keep buying what the left tells you but the reality is Canadians would like nothing better than having the U.S. return to the Obama policies of appeasement and feel good rhetoric while implementing the entitlement ideology and massive central gov't so that your country doesn't have to take care of itself.

I really don't see any reason to continue this with Canadians who have opinions based upon biased information and leftwing media spin but are totally clueless when it comes to economic results and official data nor do Canadians care about actual facts.

People move into California for various reasons so keep ignoring the negative reasons of the social programs offered by the state including illegals and sanctuary cities.

Eliminate LA, SF, and San Diego and you have a Red State!
