Donald Trump laughed and joked after a supporter suggested shooting undocumented migrants who cross into the US from Mexico.
...
“When you have 15,000 people marching up, and you have hundreds and hundreds of [immigrants], and you have two or three border security people that are brave and great – and don’t forget we don’t let them and we can’t let them use weapons,” Mr Trump said.

“We can’t. Other countries do, we can’t. I would never do that. But how do you stop these people?”

In response, someone from the audience shouted: “Shoot them!”

Mr Trump then appeared to laugh before shaking his head and saying: “That’s only in the Panhandle you can get away with that statement.”

The crowd then erupted into laughter and cheers, and Mr Trump added: “Only in the Panhandle!”

Trump jokes about shooting undocumented migrants during wild rally speech

The dehumanization of the immigrants appears to be complete. Just my opinion, but I think those people in the audience wouldn't have laughed and cheered if Trump had joked about shooting dogs. And imagine the conservative outrage if Obama had suggested shooting dogs.

But shooting innocent brown skinned human beings? Something to laugh and joke about.

We really are getting a front row seat into how what happened roughly 80 years ago began. I'm sure they cheered just as loudly back then when the topic of shooting certain groups of people came up at a rally.

How irresponsible on Trump to respond like that. As our President, and a decent person, he needs to shoot that kind of rhetoric down right away. Deplorables.

I agree. It's pretty shocking that the President of the United States would think that comment was funny, and wouldn't either ignore it or say that he doesn't agree with it.

Trump is seriously a deranged man. And his supporters are just sick.

Yep, that's agreement.

Disagreement is: "No, that would not be acceptable" or "No, we can't shoot innocent people". It's not "Hahahaha! (Crack a joke)"

But I suspect Trump thought agreeing about shooting brown skinned people would energize his crowd. And wasn't he right? But that's always his goto strategy when he wants to excite his base, isn't it, to attack brown skinned people?

Yeah, Trump doesn't give a **** about anything or anyone except Trump. And sadly whenever he's wants to energize his base, his main campaign strategy since literally day one has been to attack brown skinned people.

Don't expect a change in his campaign strategy any time soon. He loves those cheers, and he seems to know how to get them.

Exactly, remember McCain defending Obamas character when someone insulted Obama during a McCain town hall?

It dosen’t look like Trump was joking, he didn’t say it, sounds like the audience member said it. Go have some more coffee. No one has been dehumanized.

Yeah. But that was also the final nail in McCain's electoral coffin imo. It went against everything most of the Republican party believes in. Christ, as of less than 1 1/2 years ago, well over half Trump's base still believe Obama is a Kenyan.

AFAIK, it is legal for people are allowed to cross into a country and apply for asylum. AFAIK, it's a civil crime, like a traffic ticket, for them to cross and not report.

But you're gonna support shooting innocent people, or people who have a traffic ticket? That's crossing way too far into jackboot territory for me.

I think it's wrong to shoot anyone. Weird huh?

Psst...Hey...I watched the rally and saw what happened.
Trump took a nasty comment by a person in the audience, and deflected it to a joke, thus deflating and halting the conversation right there.

A. ILLEGAL ALIENS are NOT INNOCENT.
B. Your faux outrage by this is playschool whining. Do try to not give our nation the image of little girls in a playground.
