‘You’re Literally Bullying Her’: Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Sims’ Controversial Videos Berating Abortio

This guy is definitely out of his mind.
Being pro-women, pro-choice is respecting ALL choices, including the "old white woman's" right to protest.
And what was he trying to prove to dox some teen young women?

This shameless moron needs to be thrown out of office.

Can you prove that the old lady and the three girls were doing anything like that.

JFYI, he called her an "old white woman"

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia politician is causing a storm of controversy and nationwide outrage after he recorded himself confronting protesters outside of a Center City Planned Parenthood facility. Now the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and police are looking into the videos.

...The nine-minute video uploaded to Sims’ Facebook page has been seen more than one million times.

Most of the reaction on both sides of the abortion debate has been negative. ‘You’re Literally Bullying Her’: Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Sims’ Controversial Videos Berating Abortion Protesters In Philadelphia Causes National Outrage – CBS Philly

This guy is really something. In one of the videos he offers $100 to anybody who provides him with info so he can dox some teen girls. What a bully. And jerk.

Before I went to the link, my first thought was that this would be another case of an anti choicer harassing people, because of their history of having done so in the past.

My heart sank when I found that that was not the case.

I’m pro choice, but I’m outraged at what this guy did. Yes it was bullying. His attempts to doxx some of the protesters are despicable.

It doesn't matter what message you intended to send. You never spoke. Being there in the first place ties you to a whole network of Christian Fundamentalists who routinely picket planned parenthood.

Obviously you have no clue as to what the first amendment protects!

Is that what I said? Come on now.

Protest away. But I think the single biggest hit to the credibility and integrity of the anti-abortion movement is their practice of patient interference and harassment / intimidation. I would categorically support any law or initiative that would end this abusive practice.

If you were praying in protest outside an abortion clinic, A) you were not acting Biblically, therefore were weaponizing Christianity to oppose something you are not in favor of, and B) regardless of the content of your prayer, you were clearly sending a message that you condemn what is going on there, and that Christianity condemns it.

Note that I admit that I could be completely wrong with this...you could have happened to be outside an abortion clinic praying for rain for all I know. But that is the optics of it...and how you could miss that is beyond me, so far in fact that I don't believe you did miss it.

Matthew 6...right? Or only sometimes...?

What utter nonsense.

What utter nonsense.

What a highly intellectual and decipherable rebuttal.

Got something say, Trix, or you just taking cheap shots from the peanut gallery again?

I don't frankly care. They are protesting a constitutional right. You don't see protesters sitting outside of gun shops, do you?

I have no sympathy for them. Disgusting ideologues and grotesque authoritarians of the absolutely worst stripe.

Obviously you have no clue as to what the first amendment protects!

And you obviously have no clue about the sincere motivations of christian dominionists that have infested the republican party.

So please, stop playing ****ing coy, Trix.

Why is it shameful to stand silently and pray in public?
It is done to shame the women entering the clinic, and it is actually against the religion's instructions.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Obviously you have no clue as to what the first amendment protects!
Where did I say I wanted to make some law preventing these activities. The First Amendment protects many shameful things.

A grown man bullying and intimidating old ladies and young girls is shameful.

Grown women bullying and screaming at innocent people exercising their constitutional rights is shameful.

The endless amount of shade thrown by anti-choicers is shameful.

I have no sympathy for them or a single person who is anti-choice.

You dug your grave.

Get on your knees, pray for forgiveness and LAY IN IT.

Protesting is a constitutional right. And yes you do see protests outside of gun shops.

AGAIN do you have any proof that these women were intimidating or shaming anyone? Because the only one I saw screaming at and threatening anyone was a male Democrat state representative bully.

Yeah, it's a constitutional right, just like abortion.

Religion after all does poison everything, including a right to privacy. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of these scumbag anti-choicers are breaking HIPPA laws.

My conscious is clean . I'm not the one ending human life.

I know a LOT about HIPPA laws exactly which law do you think they are violating.

Put a 500 yard no protest zone around hospitals and clinics, and this problem goes away.

Not excusing the behavior at all. Not condemning the old lady at all. But neither one should have been there. Pray in your closet, and all of that.

No it won't. If anything, you just create a new problem.

Do you really wan't to limit the right to free speech to only speech you like? This from the group that has been actively protesting the results of an election for the past two years?

Be careful what you wish for.

The right to privacy, especially if they know and run their goddamned mouths about people after ward, I'd presume.

Either way, this is settled law, and only cons would want to upset the apple cart and destroy in turn one of the remaining bastions of voters they have.

I have zero tolerance for anti-choicers, zero sympathy for them, and frankly, his tongue lashing did not go far enough.

The best way to shut them up?

Park a beautiful red Iroc Z28 right next to them, blast the beautiful people and rev the engine until they disperse.

I can't think of anything that can't be protested from a distance of a few hundred yards.

Also, do you want to lose general support for the first amendment? Keep using it to excuse the lowest human behaviors. Watch all the folks DEMAND the 1A be repealed or amended. People are getting sick of it...make freedom of speech not worth having by refusing to bake human decency into the equation, and you're doing more to destroy it than I ever could.

(Edit: that came off a little harsher than I was going for...hopefully this admission softens it a bit)

A civil society is not one wherein religious constraints are forced on the public at large "simply on the merit of a fiction novel written 2,000 years ago."

I don't agree with the freedom to exercise religious speech if it insists on belittling and degrading people in the public square.

Just because something is legal does not mean you ought to do it.

It doesn't matter that you can't think.

So now we've gone from Constitutional to ought (not) to do it?

Again, it doesn't matter what you agree with.

Dang it, I hate wasting punch pulls on people I mistakenly took for being worth them.
