Franklin Graham blasts Buttigieg for being gay

Simple truth...you support Trump and identify as a Christian...you forever cede any moral high ground you may have once enjoyed. Welcome to the new normal. You traded your ability to be morally self righteous so an unrepentant adulterer could be president. That is one of the few good things that came from the election. All the right wing evangelicals showed their true colors.

Simple truth...I support Trump as the Commander in Chief. Nothing more. I support him for the good and success of the country, in the same way I supported Obama as the Commander in Chief. My record on both is identical and clear.

You on the other hand are simply a partisan. You voted for Obama when he opposed gay ,marriage and made excuses for him. So your comments now are all ridiculous partisan hypocrisy.

And again...we both know that.

Notice he didn't say anything about same sex marriage. Sex outside of marriage is fornication and fornication is a sin. So, yes, the Bible considers homosexuality a sin.

Believe what you want, but don't lie about what the Bible says.

Again, your interpretation. It doesn't matter what you believe, only what he believes when it comes to whether something is hypocritical.

There are plenty of things in the Bible that most Christians do not believe.

Proverbs 13:24

Ephesians 5: 22-23

1 Timothy 2: 11-12

It is interesting how much some Christians want to ignore that Timothy verse. It says pretty explicitly to most that women are not allowed to teach men or have authority over them, yet we are supposed to believe that this can be interpreted many ways and other things can't?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

So your support of Pete Buttiegieg ISNT based solely on his being gay.

Now that is a slippery slope.

Trump's primary campaign strategy to energize his is making racist attacks. On Mexicans, on immigrants, on black football players, on African countries, on Muslims, on Latinos, on a black POTUS, etc. etc. etc. Hell, Trump gained his street cred with his base by being the leader of the racist Birther Movement. He spent a decade calling a black POTUS unAmerican because of the colour of the POTUS' skin. And his base loved it.

So obviously Trump believes his base is largely composed of racists, or else he wouldn't be using that strategy.

Yet nearly all the base denies being racist. Did you say it best....
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight......

This is what the Bible says about slavery:

"Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death” - Exodus 21:16

"As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith. 5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. 7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me." - Timothy 1:3-11

These are the verses you presented:

11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

Whoever spares the rod hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.

You got caught lying, bad on that one.

What does Obama not supporting same sex marriage have to do with Trump being an unrepentant adulterer? Are you comparing my support with same sex marriage to your faith?

It's even funnier how Liberals lie about what the Bible says.

I am just sharing the same justification that good Christians who beat their wives and children have used for centuries.

Regardless of your feelings on whether or not you were born gay, does that change the description of homosexuality in both the old and new testament as a sin?

So is mixing fabrics, but I bet you don't worry about that one eh.

Christians use the bible to reinforce their bigotry. Christians are all for quoting the bible when it supports them, but when it doesn't, or says something they disagree with, suddenly it doesn't apply for some reason, or it needs to be interpreted.

That isn't an interpretation. The Bible says it.

It's an interpretation of what that means.

Not to mention the very translation to English can be something completely different.

Good people don't see those verses as justification for beating their wives and children. Only a ****ing idiot would get that from those verses. Just like anyone who thinks the Bible justifies involuntary servitude.

And you're welcome to believe what you want, but don't lie about what the Bible says.

Why would anyone need to lie about what the bible says? It paints Yahweh as a most disgusting being all on it's own. He advocates genocide, human sacrifice, slavery, killing for a myriad of trivial reasons, and eternal torture simply for not believing in him, when he has provided no reasonable evidence to do so.

And you think we need to lie about what the bible says? :lamo

I relieved you of your own bigotry.

Haven't lied about anything the Bible says. I'm telling you that you interpret things a certain way, that is different than how others interpret it. Yet you expect everyone to accept your interpretation without question.

To hide their own ignorance and bigotry.

Just like this...

It paints Yahweh as a most disgusting being all on it's own. He advocates genocide, human sacrifice, slavery, killing for a myriad of trivial reasons, and eternal torture simply for not believing in him.

You said that, even after I posted this...

"Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death” - Exodus 21:16

Now, explain how that verse justifies slavery.

Good people don't see those verses as justification for beating their wives and children. Only a ****ing idiot would get that from those verses. Just like anyone who thinks the Bible justifies involuntary servitude.

So then how many good Christians are there? For that matter, how many Christians would you say there are and would you say that Christians still maintain a majority even if most of their interpretations do not match yours?

Haven't lied about anything the Bible says. I'm telling you that you interpret things a certain way, that is different than how others interpret it. Yet you expect everyone to accept your interpretation without question.

You said the Bible doesn't consider homosexuality a sin. That's a lie. You also claimed that the Bible teaches people to beat their wives and children. That's another lie.

So then how many good Christians are there? For that matter, how many Christians would you say there are and would you say that Christians still maintain a majority even if most of their interpretations do not match yours?

Would you agree that people are inately good?

Good people don't see those verses as justification for beating their wives and children. Only a ****ing idiot would get that from those verses. Just like anyone who thinks the Bible justifies involuntary servitude.

Not my fault you are a liberal Christian.

You're wrong about that. In no way would any amount of votes that were possibly cast merely because of his sexual orientation could be considered a 'virtue signal'. If anything, it could be a signal that people just think he's the better candidate to be president of the US because he's intelligent, logical and likeable.
I think you are applying your opinion of him to others. We have absolutely seen the trend of increasingly powerful identity politics in the Democrat Party.
