Mexico draws weapons on American soldiers on U.S. side of border

I am pretty certain that ALL members of Mexico's congress support their soldiers enforcing Mexican border laws.

How sad that the majority of our House of Reps does not support our people when they try to enforce our border laws.

I am now a wall supporter libertarian just for the sake of border efficiency. But still for immigration and people using the border checkpoints for asylum.

Better to just have better relations with the Mexican government and coordinate activities.

LOL, and you call yourself a libertarian??
You're ca conservative.

Will you still call yourself a libertarian when Trump grabs the land of property owners along the border and builds a wall? You know, eminent domain?
I'd hate to see you as a hypocrite.

No trump will have to give them heap-loads of money for that land. Probably x100 worth its price. Although we all know he will dakota pipeline the whole thing and pay them only x1.5 its worth. Or hell pull some stuff like "They still own the land on both sides but we are building the wall anyways" lol.

I mean at this point tho if lefties are blaming militias for mexico disarming our troops on our side I dont really see any choice but to build a clear and obvious wall.

Mexican soldiers cross over into America. Strip 2 U.S. soldiers of their weapons and make them lay down in the dirt at gunpoint.

Why are Mexican Militairy patrolling so close/so far into our territory and LEGIT pointing their guns at innocent people and taking their weapons from them and making them lay face down in the dirt?

"This business will get out of control" The Hunt for Red October.

Mexican troops need Trump to build a border wall so they can know which side of the border they are on.

Right.. We had leftists on the boards screaming "Just wait till these vigilante militia get met by Mexican Special Forces!" hoping for their death and now the next day we have incursions by mexican soldiers CROSSING THE RIO GRAND RIVER WHICH IS THE BORDER and leftists just dont care. The river is the damn border!!! how could they cross it on accident???

Its time we build a Wall just to fix the issue.

I am now official Wall supporter because of the left just not caring.

Methinks it's past time you took personal responsibility for your own decisions and actions. Throwing up your hands and blaming others for your plight sounds like a claim of victimization. So I look forward to the day you can pull yourself up by your own bootstraps. Or whatever.

Righhhht. So its the vigilantes fault that Mexican militairy is sending incursions past the border river and blaming it on accidents. Stupid vigilantees see what you did! You made Mexico violate our sovereignty! God damn you vigilantees why did you force the Mexican military to degrade and humiliate our soldiers like that?!

I also look forward to the day you get a grip.

I dunno i think foreign military coming onto our soil and disarming troops is very much a thing. And if it happens 2 or 3 more times this year our leaders need to take direct political action.

Mexico paramilitary/police is some of the most crooked in the world and we cant let them force our troops to surrender on our side of the border, who knows what cartel stuff is running behind them or a mile away while they pin our troops down.

If were gonna let them make us surrender on our side of the border we might as well just put on the giant hanging wooden betacuck signs around our necks and tell the most machismo violent outsiders to come in.

Those "machismo" Hispanics are hard men for sure. Big they are.

So is Mexico going to pay for your wall in a lump sum or installments. Inquiring minds want to know. Because I care.

Any time someone comes into my yard with a weapon, unless it has a red tip I'm going to assume it has bullets and treat it accordingly.

That's awful kind of you to trust a red tip.

I mean the soldiers didn't have ammo. They had no choice but to stand down or go melee.

Sounds like there was some geographical confusion that was worked out among adults without incident. Both parties were in unmarked vehicles and there have been reports of vigilante militia groups patrolling the border - that could be a factor.

Another reason for those dipstick 'militias' not to ponce around playing Rambo in their airsoft kit. Real soldiers might be mistaken for these bozos.

That's an act of war.

Those soldiers should be disciplined for surrendering without a fight.

How do you accidentally cross the Rio Grand River..... Common....

Interesting to see that when malitias detain people without even pointing their guns at them people go ape****.

But when mexico crosses over into our territory WITH TROOPS, over a river, and targets our troops and deweaponizes them at literal gunpoint and makes them lay belly facedown in the dirt. And takes our sovereignty. Certain leftiests "dont care".

I am now officially ON BOARD with The Wall. Its time to build it.

I am sure there were good people on both sides. Please ask Mexico to write a check for the wall.

Correct. Often against drug traffickers. I've observed their operations in Chihuahua. For several years, the military was in charge of policing Vera Cruz because the Cartels ran the police force. Not sure if that's still true.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the current state of the situation is, but that was the case when I was stationed there back right after 9-11. They intentionally would station military members in those areas who were NOT from those areas and they got rotated out fairly frequently. It helps reduce the odds that the cartels can influence the troops, but I guess it also means the troops are not as familiar with the area, which can lead to misunderstandings like this one.

Those soldiers should be disciplined for surrendering without a fight.

2 US Army troops were disarmed, detained by Mexican troops in TX

“After a brief discussion between the soldiers from the two nations, the Mexican military members departed the area. The U.S. soldiers immediately contacted CBP, who responded quickly. Throughout the incident, the U.S. soldiers followed all established procedures and protocols,” Deputy Director of public affairs for NORAD and U.S. Northern Command John Cornelio told Newsweek.

Theres nothing wrong with surrendering when outmatched, but Mexico shouldn't be allowed to embarrass and neuter our troops like this.

American Liberals will hand the Mexican soldiers medals for valor.

US Military News website has a rather factual and professional report about the statement by US Northern Command operations headquarters in San Antonio. US Northcom with headquarters at Peterson AFB Colorado has the 5th Army and 1st Air Force to defend the continental USA. That is within the laws and the Constitution of course, which put the Pentagon under the Department of Homeland Security in this deployment, to include the Department of Health and Human Services....

“Though they were south of the border fence, US soldiers remained in US territory, north of the actual border,” the statement explained. In some areas of Texas, the border fence does not match the exact location of the border line.

The U.S. Army soldiers didn’t have enough time to request emergency assistance before they were quickly approached by the Mexican troops wielding FX-05 Xiuhcoatl military rifles, Newsweek reported.

They were instructed to stand at the front of the vehicle where they were searched and disarmed. One of the Mexican soldiers removed the Army sergeant’s Beretta M9 service pistol and placed it inside the vehicle. Officials said the sergeant permitted the Mexican soldier to disarm them “in an attempt to de-escalate a potential volatile situation.”

The soldiers were part of B Battery, 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment from Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, and deployed as part of the southern border support mission ordered by President Trump in Oct. 2018.

The Mexican troops sped away in a Ford pickup truck with no “identifiable seals or symbols.”

Experience would inform us that at the southern border which is the instance of the moment, the Rio Grand is not always the clear and obvious deliniating point it could otherwise seem to be. Rio Grand is famous as a stream of water that in places footsoldiers can cross on foot. Women and children can do it too. Other times the river is classically dry. The Soldiers in this instance were well instructed, the one sergeant applied a superb disciplined judgement, and the troop with the sergeant performed commendably.

It is highly unlikely civilian militia would have responded in this appropriate order. This is likely true despite news reports that many of the militia members are former police officers and military veterans. Indeed, civilian militia whether they are former police or former military tend strongly to be a ragtag lot once they are alway from orgainizational and military discipline and the chain of command. As we see here the militia mindset poses some very high risks to peace, stability, law, order and to the sanctity of life.

LOL, your POTUS proudly wears that sign around his neck every day. The world has rarely seen a bigger snowflake than Donald J. Trump. And much of his base isn't far behind. Whinging and crying about how the poor white man is so hard done by in America. Pathetic.

Excellent assessment. The discipline exhibited by those soldiers did your country proud. Two thumbs up.

It wouldn't if there were a wall.

Unless, of course, one was far enough on one side of the border that the wall wasn’t in sight.

Or one got totally turned around and kept heading across the border when one thought they were heading home.

Or any one of about a dozen other possibilities.
