How deliciously and predictably irrelevant of you. I wasn't addressing the press conference, but rather the meetings between the DOJ and Trump's legal team. That said, why do we need to hear from Bill Barr when his job is to simply to facilitate the Mueller report?

The AG is not the POTUS's lawyer. The DOJ is not his law firm. They have no business briefing/strategizing with the POTUS's legal team as to how to respond to a report that was a criminal investigation into him.

Not even remotely surprised that such a simple fact escapes you.

I understand that the press conference is three hours before the redacted report is released to the Intelligence Committee. My take is that they need early damage control. If the report really was the "exoneration" previously told, the report wouldn't need anything to get ahead of. The report would say what they want already.

Barr is also ending up to show that he's not the objective AG that has been customary. He's acting as the president's lawyer, like John Mitchell was, not the county's lawyer.

Where did you read that it will be "heavily" redacted?
We know it's going to be lawfully redacted. That's a given, but that does not mean it will be heavily redacted.

William Barr is now officially the Attorney General of one person, donald j-fineous trump.

He shared the Mueller report with the white house allowing the trump team to prepare their "rebuttal". Although according to trump and barr trump was totally exonerated, so why the need to prepare a rebuttal at all?

barr having a "press conference" to put trump's spin on the report has sacrificed totally his independence.

How low this white house and the office of the AG has fallen.

There's about as much chance for this to happen as there is for the Easter bunny to bring you a bunch of 24k gold eggs Sunday morning.

The Trump haters are pretty predictable. All they did was talk up the Mueller report and now that they have it, they rebuke it.
