William Barr to give Thursday press conference on Mueller report - Washington Times

Attorney General William Barr will hold a press conference Thursday morning to discuss the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. The press conference is scheduled for 9:30 and will include Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

It will be Mr. Barr’s first time fielding questions on the release of the larger, although heavily redacted version of the report. He will be grilled by lawmakers on when he appears before the House and Senate Judiciary committees on May 1 and May 2.

Any guesses as to why William Barr feels it's necessary to have a press conference before the release of the heavily redacted Mueller report?

He color-coded it so even Leftists can understand. What more do you want?

It's pretty laughably shady.

Purpose of this presser seems to be not to let reporters ask informed questions but rather to get TV footage of Barr saying things Trump will like that can play all day.

A rational AG who wasn't the president's man would have it much later in the day (if at all) so reporters could have time to read the report and develop informed questions.

Barr and Trump clearly don't want that.

IT HAS BEEN EXTENSIVELY REPORTED FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!! I didn't make it up out of thin air. GEEESUS

Any guesses as to why William Barr feels it's necessary to have a press conference before the release of the heavily redacted Mueller report?

It is kind of a waste of time. The press and the lefties in congress are going to say whatever they feel like saying anyway and anything he does say is going to be treated as if it's a lie and obstruction of justice and collusion and whatever else Don Lemon and Rachael Maddow can come up with.

Oh, I almost forgot, his press conference is racist too.

He color-coded it so even Leftists can understand. What more do you want?

Then he better revise the other 400 pages and convert it to 'baby-talk' so you Trumpers can understand it.

Any guesses as to why William Barr feels it's necessary to have a press conference before the release of the heavily redacted Mueller report?

Because he has to lay the groundwork for Trumps defense. This is what Trump appointed him to do.

If there's nothing to hide and every Republican including Trump has been insisting on transparency, there's certainly been a hell of a lot of effort trying to conceal it or show as little as possible. Why is everyone so nervous if there's nothing to be afraid of?

He's not Trump's lawyer, HE'S THE LAWYER FOR THE UNITED STATES and all of us Americans. Trump has his own bevy of lawyers. William Barr took an oath to serve the American people, NOT TRUMP.

William Barr should be impeached along with Trump.

Seems like Barr works for Trump and not the people doesn’t it? Why does there need to be a press brief before the report is released? Smells to me.

Yawn...grand jury testimony has to be redacted. Its the law...

Any guesses as to why William Barr feels it's necessary to have a press conference before the release of the heavily redacted Mueller report?
Why? Because he is announcing indictments. McCabe, Srtok, Page, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Ohr, Lynch, Obama Et al.

"HEAVILY REDACTED . . ." has been extensively reported? "larger version" has been reported? Where?

Why? Comey had a press conference. Twice. Its pretty normal. Ken Starr did too.

Any guesses as to why William Barr feels it's necessary to have a press conference before the release of the heavily redacted Mueller report?

1. There is no indication that the press conference will happen before or after the release of the report.

2. Calling this a "heavily redacted" version of the report is nothing but speculative spin, since nobody knows exactly HOW redacted the report will be.

These two points just illustrate the usual nonsense from the media. Why can't they just engage in straight reporting of the facts?

As to why Barr is having the press conference? I suspect he wants to establish very early that everything he's done is based on law and policy. You know those idiot reporters will ask stupid questions...stuff that he cannot answer...and he'll be slapping them upside the head till they get it right.

We are not sure yet about the "heavily redacted" part yet, and odds are the press conference is a preemptive idea for dealing with Congress' (specifically the House) probable response. I doubt it is even read fully before everyone with a (D) behind their name rushes to the first available CNN, MSNBC, etc. mic and camera.

Man...there are so many stupid people walking around acting like they are real people. In case anyone missed it, Mueller isn't dead and none of his team is dead. What this means, for those a little slow of thinking, is that if there is something inaccurate then it will be found out with simple testimony from the innumerable people that worked on the report.

Ya'll just trying to stretch out your debunked fantasy as long as you can. You're in your death throes of this particular conspiracy theory you've been suckered into for over two years now.

Any guesses as to why William Barr feels it's necessary to have a press conference before the release of the heavily redacted Mueller report?

My best guess is to explain the color coded (categorized?) redaction scheme used in the SC's report and why each color (category?) of redaction was (legally?) necessary. It is interesting that Mueller will not also be present for this press conference since the topic is his report and what was (had to be?) redacted from it for public release.

Rod Rosenstein {no friend of Trump} who helped prepare the report for release will be included. So I think they will again explain why they think the conclusion supports no collusion and no obstruction. They will likely explain the color code system for the redaction and the legal reasons redactions are required by law.

I'm still trying to get a straight answer on the reference to "the larger . . .version of the report". Are they trying to claim Barr's letters were a "report"?

He color-coded it so even Leftists can understand. What more do you want?
Did he include big letters and lots of pictures because they need those too.

Nothing in it is going to say that there is evidence of collusion. The report, written by a group of Leftists, may talk about how much of a reprobate and how stupid Trump is, and it may even say that it doesn't mean he's exonerated. It's not their place, tough, to be judge and jury. However, again, it won't say that they found any proof of collusion with Russia to steal votes, obstruction of justice, or anything else they're accusing Trump of. Saying he's a big, fat, doo-doo head doesn't mean anything in a case like this (or any case for that matter). The only thing that'll happen is that whole idea of "even though there was no evidence, it doesn't mean he's innocent or exonerated" fiasco. It gives the media something to go off of. The Left doesn't care if Trump's innocent or not, they want him gone because they're bitter over the fact the he won the 2016 election and Hillary didn't. AND to cover up the ACTUAL collusion, which was between Hillary and the Russians. AND to cover up that there was spying going on, by the FBI (illegally), into the Trump campaign. Why? For a lack of a better phrase, cheat for Hillary.

Before the release? You can show this? Thanks

News has said it will be simultaneous. Barr will have the report with him and offer explanations. Then it goes to Congress. Apparently its color coded as well so he wants to explain it fully. Rosenstein will also be there and answer questions.
