    From The Sydney Morning Herald

We helped you defeat Islamic State now please help treat our wounds, say Kurds

Hassaka, Syria: Kurdish soldiers who lost limbs fighting the so-called Islamic State in Syria have been rebuffed in their efforts to get medical visas allowing them advanced care in Western countries, the Kurdsí top foreign affairs official says.

Abdul-Karim Omar, the co-chairman of foreign affairs for the Kurdish self-administration in north-eastern Syria, said many of the 20,000 soldiers wounded fighting the terrorist group on the ground could not get the high-level treatment they needed in Syria.

"We have repeatedly asked all our partners in the coalition and the European countries to give the visas for helping with the treatment, but they havenít responded," Dr Omar said.

"The injured soldiers are part of the coalition against the Islamic State. The Islamic State were the ones threatening the world.
"A lot of our injured fighters cannot be treated here ... We will pay for [the treatment]. They havenít even given us that visa. This is not fair."

    COMMENT:-

THOSE PEOPLE simply cannot be allowed to come to the United States of America because they might become "radicalized" by Islamists and turn into terrorists, I mean they ARE Muslims. Besides Executive Order 13769 bans them and that's the LAW (the US Supreme Court has upheld it). Besides that, they CHOSE to run the risks of being wounded, so no one should feel that they have any obligation to them.

    Right?

Turkey will not be too happy about this.

Oh I don't think that the Turks are going to lose much sleep over the plight of militarily trained Kurds who are no longer combat capable and who support terrorists inside Turkey.

Abandoning allies in a fight trends toward bad outcomes down the road; that's a lesson learned from support for the Mujahideen. If sending Kurds to western countries doesn't make sense, then perhaps assisting them locally does.

Unfortunately that "locally" includes land that is part of Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Turkey. Equally unfortunately the governments of Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Turkey don't seem inclined to give up that land.

Maybe a solution like Israel would work. All that would be required would be for non-Arab lands to be given to the Kurds in recompense for the fact that the Kurds have never had their own country.

How about Arizona, it's sort of "deserty".
