How the **** is wearing a crucifix or a yarmulke or a hijab “shoving religion down your throat”?

You know that “shoving your religion down someone’s throat” is? It’s using the force of government to make sweeping prohibitions against someone else’s faith.

those who worship big government are exactly the same. You do realize there are people who honestly oppose abortion and its not because of their religion? Now those who want to ban gay marriage-I see that as based on religious bigotry. But many pernicious political actions are based on personal views-and it matters not to me if say someone is a gun banner because of their faith or their politics.

The public at large is forced to tolerate religious discrimination.

BS? What's BS is ignoring that it's going on.
So you uphold discrimination against the religious. How tolerant.
IF you personally get to decide what kind of funding we should get rid of then this will no doubt lead to getting rid of funding you support.

How are they spreading it into YOUR politics.
    They aren't.

Admit it. You want to censor speech just like the nitwit groups in our universities want to censor uber-conservative groups from speaking.

I don't agree with censoring speech.

Oh they're spreading it into my politics, by legislating their belief into law.

When I am held to the moralistic standard of a bunch of social conservatives who believe a 2,000 year old sand djinni invented the world in 7 days along with the universe, they are forcing their religion into my politics.
I am held to laws their religion enacted and enforce.

If they would simply stop doing that, I'd stop speaking out against them.

Alas, they insist on continuing to make a mockery of the republican party and turn it into an evangelical **** hole.

You should try a cottage patio on Georgian Bay in mid August around sunset, with the temps starting to come down just a touch, the smell of campfires in the air, the loons calling against the gentle ripples of the lake you've been swimming in all day...a little Tragically Hip maybe floating across the water from someone's place... That's about as close to Heaven as we're allowed to get in this life, bud.

I appreciate Quebec's efforts to keep it's unique French culture. I am amused as I drive through.......no English. When you get to Ontario all signs in both English and French. My wife and I go to Montreal or Quebec City for vacation.....its like going to another country lol
I remember as a kid the huge outcry when there was a proposal to make English the official language in Maine.......many immigrants from Quebec living in French speaking households here. Now as second, third and forth generations have replaced the first; French has faded away as the immigrants became American.
Today there are groups immigrating to Canada and America with no intention to ever become Canadians or Americans. Bravo for Quebec to recognize its unique culture and its fragility.
