Trump complains US troops at border 'can't get a little rough, like they would normally'

Donald Trump has complained that US border troops cannot “get a little rough” with migrants because “everybody would go crazy”.
The president lamented that his military “can’t act like they would normally act” by being heavy-handed with refugee families.

He blamed “horrible laws that Democrats will not change” and said he was considering deploying more troops to the Mexico border to stop migrants attempting to cross into the US.

Speaking to reporters in Texas, Mr Trump said: “I’m going to have to call up more military.

"But our military, don’t forget, can’t act like a military would act because if they get a little rough, everybody would go crazy. So our military can’t act like they would normally act, or let’s say another military from another country would act.

COMMENT:-

It appears that Mr. Trump would prefer that the US Army have the same freedom to kill people in other countries as the IDF does (or the same ability to beat people senseless that the Brown Shirts or Mayor Daley's Chicago Police Department had).

I'd like to see our military be able to use this on the border:

Machine guns and landmines are cheaper and MUCH more "American".

Besides, if you sued that, it wouldn't take but a minute before someone nicknamed it "The Voice Of Trump".

I like non-lethal when dealing with civilians. You seem to disagree.

So it goes...

Trump seems to disagree with you. And TUC is right, what is more American than shooting people? I suppose we could chuck apple pies at them but I'm not sure it would be as effective as bullets.

Trump seems to prefer a more 'traditional' approach that leans more toward violent area defense systems and not pricey point defense systems.... I wonder how much your solution would cost to do in more than a Pentagon Parking lot... :peace

So Trump was sending troops to massacre border-crossers?

That was his plan all along?

I mean, it's technically within our rights, but blaming Democrats and their "liberal" laws for not preventing a massacre?

Don't let'em stop you, you big tough CnC!

Place the orders, and see what happens.

That whole posse comitatus thing sure is inconvenient. ;)

What does Trump even know about the military. Oh that's right, he probably saw some old war movies on tv.

Contrary to the nonsensical thinking from our Trump hating brethren here on DP, Trump and I don't always agree.

Is Canada encouraging these people to come to Canada? Has Canada opened it's borders for them?

One more thing to be grateful for.

Chicago has always been run by Democrats, so that's where the brutality comes from. I wouldn't mind if our troops shot traffickers, and Mexicans soldiers/drug cartels henchmen that shoot at our troops.

Ah, the people Trump loves.

I know Americans are notoriously ignorant when it comes to geography, so perhaps you're unaware that Canada doesn't have a common border with any Latin American countries, or Mexico.

U.S. Students Are Really Bad at Geography
IT'S NO SECRET THAT U.S. students are horrible at geography and have been for some time.

No ****, Sherlock!

That doesn't answer the question: is Canadadian gvernment encouraging Central American to come to Canada?

How would Trump know service members can get rough. Its not like Ol Bone Spurs has first hand experience.

For 2019, Canada will be admitting between 42,000 and 58,000 refugees.

For 2019, the US will be admitting no more than 30,000 refugees.

Taking the average for the Canadian numbers ([42,000+58,000]/2) , and adjusting for relative population size (37.06Mn vs 327.2Mn), that means that Canada is taking in (proportionately) 14.7 times as many refugees as the US is taking.

The "Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the United States of America for cooperation in the examination of refugee status claims from nationals of third countries" came into force on December 29, 2004 - when George W Bush was the President of the United States of America would require the government of Canada to reject "Those People" should they travel across the US from the Mexican border and seek refugee status in Canada.

You really aren't suggesting that the government of Canada should break the laws of both Canada and the United States of America are you?

Posse Comitatus doesn't prevent the armed forces from securing the border.

Quite right. All that Mr. Trump has to do is to declare war on Mexico and the US military will be able to "defend the United States of America from foreign invasion".
