ISIS caliphate has officially crumbled and last stronghold Liberated

The Muslim Brotherhood is trying to infiltrate our country. The first step is to get their people into our government....If you know what I mean.

They're too late. The shapeshifting Zeta Reticulans have already seized power...

Sure, because if we stayed put, all of this would have just gone away with a beer and a laugh.

LOL, that's why I come to this zoo of a message board.

Help me out. What is "all of this?"

What do you believe we've accomplished in our ~16 years of combat in the region that justifies the costs?

Same thing happened with the insurgents in Iraq, and ISIS sprang forth from that.

Those of us who were opposed to our Iraq adventure from the outset are stuck shaking our heads over this "victory" over forces we helped to empower.

There's no going back, but can we hope that people are able to learn a lasting lesson from this (this time?)

Defeating one enemy in that region always seems to spur a worse one in it's place.

LOL, wrong. Obama told us it would be impossible.

The progress accelerated dramatically when Trump took over. He took the gloves off the military and let them go to work. And he quit the politically correct BS that was holding the progress back.

You lost on this one. Big time.

Yet another reason why he's going to be reelected.

The collapse of ISIS's caliphate was already well underway under Obama. The offensive to recapture ISIS’ de facto capital city of Raqqa began in November 2016, under Obama, and by late December of that year, Voice of America was reporting that U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces had made significant advances in the campaign. Ultimate victory there was not declared until October 2017, under Trump.

Is this a "Mission Accomplished" moment?

As stated context matters except to you as you make it up as you go along, the mission accomplished was for the returning ship and the ending of major combat operations. Show me where Bush said victory?

Yeah, I got that deranged email from the TeaParty.org. It basically said that because Congresswoman Ilhan Omar wearing a hijab, she supports Sharia Law -- which is insane logic.

"Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

How many casualties after the “ending of major combat operations?” The ‘mission accomplished” speech was delivered in 2003. Mission accomplished=victory?

Is this a "Mission Accomplished" moment?

What is it about liberalism that creates this kind of loyalty and always taking things out of context such as this issue. Here is the truth about the banner and no where in the speech did Bush utter the words, Mission Accomplished. Comments like yours are despicable

The banner stating "Mission Accomplished" was a focal point of controversy and criticism. Navy Commander and Pentagon spokesman Conrad Chun said the banner referred specifically to the aircraft carrier's 10-month deployment (which was the longest deployment of a carrier since the Vietnam War) and not the war itself, saying "It truly did signify a mission accomplished for the crew.

LOL, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Your favorite media outlets don't even care about this. The are ignoring it entirely. There's a reason for that, because Obama was wrong.

What is it about you that makes you feel invested to bend facts and events into a pretzel to defend GW Bush who obviously made this statement prematurely?

What makes people of your ideology so miserable and always negative? Ending of major combat operations doesn't mean ending of the war and you know that

Bush never made the statement, prove me wrong??

We set up a staging point to fight terrorist organizations on THEIR land. Right in the hear of it all from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Put the enemy on the run within their own comfortable confines. Stirred them up into a cohesive "army" in a centralized locations where we could bomb them into submission. Killed them by the thousands.

There, not here. That's the key.

And guess what, we still have a military base right there that we can re-assume if necessary.

If you want to kill cockroaches, you have to get in the dirt with them.

You know nothing of my “ideology.” 2003, and here we are 16 years later with boots on the ground. Your stance is suspect at best, to be expected!

That’s some Viet Nam logic there, you gonna go all dominoes next?

Your credibility is once again in the toilet.

You act as if events do not have a record that can be summoned at will.

Maybe you will now claim that the man below isn't really George W. Bush?

You do know that there are literally thousands of missions within a war, right? Many battles as well.

That word "mission" is like Mandarin Chinese to you people.

It's just a fact. Which is like political kryptonite to people like yourself.

OMG, where in that speech did he say victory or MISSION ACCOMPLISHED? You are the one with zero credibility on this and every issue, obviously there is something in the liberal ideology that creates this kind of loyalty, hope you are being paid well.

Bush never uttered the phrase "Mission Accomplished";[2] a banner stating "Mission Accomplished" was used as a backdrop to the speech

Orwell would be proud of you ability to revise history.
Sorry, the POTUS doesn't make a speech on an aircraft career for a minor mission. He was clearly going on the assumption that the Iraq war had ended, as Rumsfeld predicted "in weeks."

Maybe it was the 100 foot banner behind him that said "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED?" Your willingness to spew absurdities is clearly boundless.

I'll wait for a legitimate news source before celebrating.

If this were inaccurate, the so called "legitimate news" would not hesitate to blast Fox News over it.

That they are avoiding reporting it shows that they are not the "legitimate news."
