The number of guns per capita has been steadily increasing in the US but the murder rate has been steadily decreasing for at least 65 years.

There has been a sharp rise in Mass Shootings since 2000. If my memory serves me correctly there has been a lot more violent video games since 2000 than prior to 2000. So the NRA may just be correct. More guns per capita less murders per capita. More violent games per capita more mass murders per capita.

I back the NRA for the merits. Just because I agree with CERTAIN parts of the NRA, does NOT mean I agree with ALL parts. Secondly There are ALWAYS Fanatics. So with the NRA there are FANATICS but there are also middle of the Road normal law abiding citizens and LIKELY a greater proportion of them the fanatics are a great minority.


that being Said.

1) NRA puts on firearms Safe courses has many Registered and qualified instructors.
2) NRA provides Firearms education in general to youths across the nation hope to instill values and safety to responsible firearms ownership
3) NRA provides SANCTION events where those want to participate and enjoy their freedoms can do so without fear of persecution as well as in a confined space so not to put others in danger like some irresponsible people that recklessly shoot out in the open or NON approved areas.

SO YES I STILL do support the NRA. do I agree with all their comments? Nope will I support their comments when they are wrong? NOPE, but Is the NRA as a whole still a respectable organization in my book yes.

It is impossible to arrive at conclusions based on the data you present.
Even if the number of guns per capita has increased ,the rate of the population possessing firearms has decreased. This means that a smaller percentage of the population buys multiple guns driving the gun per capita figure higher

So even if murder rate has gone down, it i does not mean that it is because of the higher gun per capita figure. One can as easily claim that it is because of the lower rate of the population possessing guns...
