'All options are on the table,' Morrison warns over Erdoğan's Gallipoli threat | World news | The Guardian

OK, not in so many words, but here's what we know:

  • Turkish president Erdogan holds public support rally
  • In his speech he showed live footage of the Christchurch shootings taking place, intentionally inciting hatred and fear among a complicit crowd
  • Stated that any Australians coming to Turkey who don't like Muslims will be sent back in a coffin "just like their grandparents at Gallipoli"

Yet something tells me he will not be blamed when an inevitable retaliation occurs in the same way Trump was. These disgusting comments represent the worst of Muslims and their reactions to Christchurch and should be condemned worldwide.

Of course he would. The question is, would Trump condemn his dear friend Erdogan like how he so forcefully condemned his dear friend MBS for murdering Khassogi?

Muslim terror against Christians in Muslim lands is common yet never saturates the MSM airwaves for days. IF it is mentioned, it is briefly and mostly on the right wing blogosphere.

I was in Turkey to mark the 100th anniversary of the landing of Anzac troops on Gallipoli. There are no words to really convey just how disrespectful or extreme Erdogan is. Despicable man.

Ataturk must be rolling in his grave at what is happening in his Country today.

I wonder if Erdogan really believes in it or is he just using the radical Islamists to stay in power?

He represents the worst of humanity. Erdogan doesn’t speak for Muslims any more than the attacker spoke for Australians. Stop being part of the problem.

Right along side Franklin and Washington.

Great... because that area of the world needs more incitement to do harm someone. :sigh:

Trump wasn't mentioned in the story. Do you feel that he needs to be introduced into every thread? Jees.

Nice of Erdogan to bring up Gallipoli to piss off both the Australians (of which the terrorist was from) and the New Zeelanders who suffered the attack. What an ahole.

These acts happen in Muslim countries to Christians all the time. And the media couldn't care less.

They are equally horrific, but not in the eyes of the Christian-hating media.

Another day, and another day of religious zealots being religious zealots. Christians bomb Muslims, Muslims bomb Christians. Hard to believe these two are "brother" religions eh.

How ironic that this is almost exactly what happened after 9/11, when the vast majority of Evangelical Christians considered people traitors if they wouldn't support attacking Muslims in retaliation.

So I see this as typical religious hypocrisy. If Christians hate this, they need to take a much better look at their own religion, and realize that it wasn't long ago that this was them.

I remember less than a couple of decades years ago when it was Christians bombing Muslims, killing hundreds of thousands, and the media cheered it on.

Maybe it's time for Christians to realize how hypocritical their religion makes them. Maybe find a new past time?

So he went full Trump eh? Seriously, this sounds exactly like a Trump rally, sans the video of course, Trump uses pictures...of a wall.

Trump’s Midterm Closing Argument: Pure Racial Fear

Trump and G.O.P. Candidates Escalate Race and Fear as Election Ploys

Thus I am not surprised. He's seen how well this tactic has worked on religious Americans.

He is President of the United States and 'leader of the free world' who has vehemently defended dictators so long as they are on his 'good side' (look at MBS). Of course it is warranted to bring him up in a thread like this.

The US did the same thing on 9/11 with the only difference being the USA lied its ass off. This Australian, not to mention many others of US/UK/Canada/ Australia/NZ have murdered many Muslims/Middle Easterners/Afghans,/... .

This pretense of westerners caring [yes, there are some genuine caring westerners] is over the top.

Trump wasn't mentioned in the story.

If we're discussing this in America/with Americans it should. This was much like a Trump rally, sans the video, which Trump replaces with images of The Wall. Pump up the hate, pump up the racism, threaten violence. It has everything a Trump rally would have.

This is even one of Trump's buddies, isn't it? Sincere question. (It's hard to keep track of which authoritarians he's in love with, and which ones he's not, although there seems to be a strong correlation between reprehensible acts committed against one's citizens, and the level of Trump's love.)

You are describing every US president since the US began its raping and pillaging back in the 1890s.

Since when is Turkey the home of rational thinkers. Nothing that emerges from the mouths of morons is shocking to me. I've heard the Muslims can be a "sensitive" crowd and have rioted over a cartoon, for **** sake. Regardless, only idiots-regardless of race or religion- believe that more violence will solve anything.

He sounds very much like TRump. No wonder they are buddies.

Well, it always was until Erdogan.

But, you likely have no idea.

Obsession noted. I prefer a story that isn't about his to stay not about him.

Trump has taken it to another level. I doubt any other modern president, Dem or Republican, would have defended MBS and insulted our intelligence info after what happened.

I prefer a story that isn't about his to stay not about him.

That's nice, but it is also about Trump, and his base. This kind of appeal to violent and racist Nationalism we are seeing in Turkey is exactly what we see at Trump rallies, and the crowd at Trump rallies behave exactly like the crowds at these rallies.

Check it out, Erdogan is taking his moves right out of the Trump playbook on inciting hate and violence:

From a Trump rally: If you beat up a protester at Trump’s rally, he’ll cover your legal fees.
last year he told Fox News that a Black Lives Matter activist who got attacked at his rally “should have been roughed up.”

From the article:
Erdoğan told supporters: “If New Zealand fails to hold the attacker accountable, one way or another we will hold him to account.”

Muslims have not stopped killing Christians since the the inception of Islam. It was the Muslims who started this holy war of religions with hundreds of years of forceful takeovers and oppression. The worst of Christian 'terrorism' was the Crusades, which were a direct response to the ongoing atrocities being carried out by ruling Muslims who had previously stolen the land from Europeans. Even so, the Crusades were a handful of mostly isolated battles compared to the enmasse of wars waged by Muslims before that.
