  • Newly released documents that were used to get search warrants for former Trump attorney Michael Cohen include a lengthy section related to an "illegal campaign contribution scheme" that is completely redacted.
  • The obscured material could underscore the president's legal peril in the investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan, according to some legal experts.
  • Trump should be "utterly terrified" about the lengthy redacted section, national security lawyer Bradley Moss said.

There are numerous bombshells in these documents.

That could be a lot of different **** though.

It seems doubtful this is an investigation targeting Cohen, or he'd have plead guilty to this offense. This might in fact be the mystery investigation that Gates and Flynn are helping out on, and if it is, holy ****.

Haven't heard this before.

While, I hope you're correct, I'm unwilling to make such a claim about redacted text, text I haven't read.

Actually, I'm not willing to make any kind of inference about the portents of anything I haven't read, even if it isn't redacted. LOL

Sure...let's play "Guess What's Under The Black Stuff!".

We can do that while we are dying of anticipation.

Yes, we've seen too much speculation already, it's getting old. Redactions, from what I understand can be:
- to protect privacy
- to protect sources/methods
- to protect ongoing investigations
so IF it's an ongoing investigation (some have reported to be for sure, some have not):

only a subset of investigations turn up sufficient evidence to indict
a subset of that would potentially deal with Trump specifically
a subset of that would be enough to sway a Republican senate

That's no bombshell to me, it's potential capability, not even a potential threat.

Trump's weekend Twitter tantrum should clue you in.

You don't think a presidential campaign being investigated for an "illegal campaign contribution scheme" is a bombshell? You don't think an illegal campaign contribution scheme is perilous for the president? It even involves Russian oligarchs...

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Have you guys gotten too used to this or what?

Put me in an "or what" category, the one labeled:
  • "People who know it's irrational to make inferences about the unknown and unalluded to, particularly regarding court documents associated with proceedings that may have a counterintelligence correlation."

You wouldn't make a very good detective.

Be or be not that as it may....

Is the president in the redaction though? Even the quite you used was "could underscore the president's legal peril".

Haven't we known he may have broken campaign finance law for a long time now...which got re-kindled when Cohen plead guilty and admitted it was a crime and was for influencing the campaign? Beyond that, what more is there except an indictment of Trump? IMO, not much.

I feel like Trump has been in legal peril his entire adult life. Don't you? It doesn't move the needle much. Anyone else with his scandals and stupidity would have been long-removed. I mean, this guy was not and never could be the CEO of a big public company based on merit...he has few skills and would likely be considered too controversial, too risky...just based on his past. But as POTUS, he's largely immune. With Fox news/right-wing fake reality, he's largely immune from further political erosion for now.

If Jared could never pass Top secret clearance, the reality is that Trump could never have passed Top Secret Clearance by an even larger margin, but he's been made commander in chief and can grant anyone top secret clearance. <- that's a bombshell, but he's still POTUS! Helsinki was a bombshell. His campaign cronies all felons, indited left and right...that's certainly scandalous. But some redactions about a crime we suspect he absolutely engaged in, and have known about for many months...interesting for die-hard followers of the legal stuff, but not a bombshell IMO.

We were told that POTUS candidates are all vetted, but that's a lie. Our president could have failed what hundreds of thousands of government workers and military personally have ot pass in terms of security clearance, but we put him in charge of the nations security. That, for example, really ****ing concerns me. Some redactions about old news, meh. You know what I mean?

It's 19 pages and it's not about paying off Stormy Daniels. There are a lot of other pieces to this, I've read a few dozen things, didn't link much because I'm too lazy to go through it all. This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Fake news. If there were anything in those documents, Cohen and the FBI would have dropped those a long time ago and during the hearings. Also, this is from CNBC's non-stock market news reporting, so we know it's fake. They should just stick to the stock market. Move this thread to the Conspiracy Theories section. Thank you!

Red:
Hell, such a person couldn't have, in prior years, been elected, but there are now some 30M idiots who've discovered one another's existence, reached the age of majority and vote.

Back in Dec 2016, I had lunch with a political strategist. We were discussing how Trump won and why political strategists didn't expect him to. He talked about "this and that" tactical flaw.

I told him I didn't think tactics had a damn thing to do with it. I said the problem is demographic and that his ilk missed is that social media's ubiquity has made it possible for the intellectual rabble, which you miscounted, to discover they are great in number and that by congealing around one of their own, a charismatic rich idiot, but an idiot nonetheless, they could put their idiot in the WH. Availing themselves of popularity's sophistry, that's exactly what they did.

I don't know, how many people have gone to prison for the crimes you say he commited.

poor Tweety. arm the deflection torpedos! remember the Alamo and the buttery mails!

FFS.......

Exactly.

There has been TONS of stuff that came out regarding the campaign finance stuff and it's still an active investigation for SDNY so they redacted everything to protect their own interests. It means absolutely nothing beyond that but the "resistance" media is always going to put their spin on it.

I cant believe it....... how dumb people are, and not even see the spin when its right in their face.

"Blacked out Search Warrant" - Its a GAWT damn search warrant against Cohen

"Suggest legal Peril for Trump" - HOW it was a SEARCH warrant for COHEN in which Cohen has plead and SENTENCED.

If the blacked out portions had value, Cohen would have already plead to reduce his sentence further....... But yups This is like whack a mole in the dark.... have at it the only idiots are the ones swinging

Going to be funny when you guys switch to "They were framed! Deep state!".
