Fox News host tells viewers to stock up on AR-15s after O'Rourke suggests ban | TheHill

"Fox & Friends Weekend" host Pete Hegseth on Sunday urged viewers to buy more AR-15s after Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke called for a ban on sales of the weapons.

The comment comes after O'Rourke, who last week announced that he is running for president, said Saturday that he doesn't think the U.S. needs to "sell any more weapons of war into this public."

Hegseth responded to O'Rourke's call for banning military assault weapons like the AR-15 that was used in the New Zealand massacres: "You can use "weapons of war" or 'assault ban' all you want."

Guns don’t kill people crazy people kill people.

I am not sure he really had to tell his viewers to do that. Because any time some anti-2nd amendment politician suggests banning semiautomatic firearms under the guise of an assault weapons ban the natural reaction seems to be sales of semiautomatic firearms going up. Because of the Brady assault weapons it showed anti-2nd amendment trash in the democrat party were serious at the federal level at trying to ban semiautomatic firearms under the guise of an assault weapons ban.

Obama was a great gun salesman!

Any way if you want an AR-15 buy one!

Right now O'Rourke is trying anything to distract from many gaffs this weekend.

A "joke" about his wife did not go over very well and the white privilege thing.

Gun nuts paranoia is the driving force for gun sales.

Yes, stupid people overreact.

So, Fox is picking Beto for the Win? Nice.

Yes, stupid people overreact.

Why is it stupid to get something before it becomes illegal to buy in stores? If anyone is being stupid its the people who support banning semiautomatic firearms just because a handful of people misuse them for mass murder.

Paranoia suggests an baseless fear about someones motivations. How is it a baseless fear of 2nd amendment advocates to take the word of a anti-2nd amendment politician who says he wants to ban a semiautomatic firearm? Anti-2nd amendment politicians have shown in their states that they want to and have banned certain semiautomatic firearms and in the past voted for the federal assault weapons ban that is now expired. If this was pre-1994 you might be able to claim 2nd amendment advocates were being paranoid. To claim today that 2nd amendment advocates are paranoid is just bold faced lie.

Guns don’t kill people crazy people kill people.
True, but there is some validity to the argument that if there were no guns crazy people wouldn't be able to kill as easily.

Although of course there are alternatives.

And implementing "no guns" as a thing would be...problematic in the USA.

Its really rather comical watching the idiot leftist dance.

"We have to pass laws and do something about assault rifles!!! BAN THEM! No one needs an assault rifle!!!"

Well...not like I needed a reason to build another 3 or 4 but..maybe wouldnt be a bad idea. And lay in another few cases of ammo while we are at it.

"OHMIGOSH!!! Gun owners are claiming we want to ban guns so they are buying more!!!"

yes, with guns.......
A terrorist in Berlin Germany killed a bunch of people with a stolen truck. Let's ban trucks. Oh I know terrorist killed thousands with jet airliners let's ban airliners. Maybe AOC is trying to stop terrorism.

Watch smart government ban AR style assault rifles after one mass shooting. Watch stupid country continue selling them after hundreds of mass shootings.

I have a 22 that my brother and I like to target practice with on my mother's farm. After Obama came into office you could not find ammo to buy.

Fewer people are killed with long rifles than handguns by far. They banned AR Rifle style weapons once and it did not help.

AR-15 isn't a "military assault weapon".

Yeah, Trump, with Fox News as his propaganda outlet will cause a hot civil war. Just give them a little time.

Yeah, it's for gardening.
The military doesn't use it. I use one for shooting feral hogs so they don't destroy my mom's garden so I guess you can say it has a use in gardening.

To bad you are in TX, I'd have you come over and shoot my ground hogs. I am to lazy to go to the basement, unlock the gun closet, get out the gun, load it... too much work.
