New Zealand shooting: Trump tweets link to Islamophobic website ...

I actually don't believe in the death penalty for heinous acts.

I would prefer they get life without parole in a 4x8 cell without a window. No TV no books. Nothing. Sit there and think about what you did as you go slowly insane.

THAT would be a ****ing deterrent.

I don't believe in treating mass murderers in the same manner we treat a gas station robber. There needs to be harsh punishment for hate crimes. Nobody has given those 49 people a choice, their lives were snuffed out in an instant. This is just too horrible to be punished by a life sentence in a prison cell. That sort of sentence will not deter anyone who wants to copycat that crime.

Actually, what I propose is officially considered "cruel and unusual" while execution is not. Leads to insanity. No human contact, no "enrichment", no exercise.

Hell, I think the victims or their families should determine the sentence and the convicting jury decides if it fits the crime. If they want the perpetrator drawn and quartered and the jury agrees then bring on the horses!

I suspect that the prospect of being burned alive or slowly flayed would indeed serve to deter some folks.

As i said in the other thread, this can't be blamed on Trump alone, but people of that mindset are cut from the same cloth.

So, once again Trump shows he is who we think he is and links to crap like this and it doesn't bother his cult.

Yet the right wingers were apoplectic when Obama wore a tan suit...

So, prominent Trump cultists include an anti-Semitic mass murderer, an Islamophobic mass murderer, and a full on retard who couldn't make a pipe bomb to save his life or take someone else's.

Sounds about right.

Does anyone doubt that Donald Trump inspired the New Zealand massacre?

According to various reports, the alleged terrorist specifically cited President Trump as an inspiration. His online manifesto praises Trump as “a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose.”
...
As has been repeatedly documented by the Southern Poverty Law Center and other organizations, Donald Trump is considered a hero by white supremacists and neo-Nazis. The official Ku Klux Klan newspaper endorsed Trump for president in 2016.

hasn't he done this before?

You can tell who will be triggered by the news that a right wing terrorist is being labelled as such.

It's the 'black face ain't racist' types. The 'i ain't racist but racial profiling is necessary...' types. The 'my (insert nationality here) friend one told me what i was doing wasn't racist' types. The 'Stop & Frisk ain't racist - blacks just do more crimes' types. The 'white pride ain't racist types'.

Lol, I'm okay with that.

There's no better deterrent than a noose around their neck. Even that doesn't 'fit the crime' committed by these radical white nationalist terrorists.

And Trump did it again today, he denied that the threat of white nationalism is on the rise. He was consumed in his 'veto speech' and doubled down on his portrayal of immigrants as invaders, rapists and criminals. Trump said that immigration detention centers were “bursting at the seams” but he was unwilling to release more people. I mean WTF!?

Trump said quite clearly that white nationalism is not a terrorist threat although he said he hasn't read the manifesto. I haven't read the manifesto either but I know that white nationalism is a threat.

Q: Do you see rising white nationalism?
Trump: “I don't really, I think it’s a small group of people.”

Reminder: Multiple experts and organizations have said over and over again that there is a rise in what nationalism and white extremism. Some argue Trump is adding to that and I agree, he most certainly is. There's a great deal of concern all over the world about this growing anti-Muslim sentiment and Islamophobia, and with good cause for concern. Trump pits people one against the other. He foments hatred and fear. That's what we all need to stand up against, not only liberals but conservatives as well.

U.S. Law enforcement failed to see the threat of white nationalism, and now they don’t know how to stop it. As far back as February, 2017, the Trump administration moved to revamp and rename a U.S. government program designed to counter all violent ideologies so that it focuses solely on Islamist extremism. The program directed the U.S. Government to remove white supremacy as a cause of extremism. As far as the U.S. Government is concerned today, only Islamic terrorist extremism is the only type of extremism that the U.S. Government is pursuing. Trump has not done enough to separate himself from these groups.

I think ANY rational observer, at this point has to acknowledge the reality that Trump is a white nationalist. I'm not surprised by his response. It is consistent. That is not to say I'm not disgusted by it. I'm a human being, of course I'm disgusted.

There is a tribal mindset that will excuse the actions of any other member of the tribe, especially a "leader". White nationalism is the most dangerous ideology in the United States, and in many other parts of the world. But, it's a tribal thing. Just watch the defense that follows.

Burning alive would be about right....He could film it himself

Oh I know, but if Trump hadn't been around he'd just have praised some other right-wing leader. Yes I believe Trump inspired him and still inspires others of that type, but they look for validation of their beliefs and excuses for their crime and not necessarily motivation. I don't think it was Trumpism alone that pushed this clown over the edge.
Idk, anti-Semetic attacks jumped in 2017. Think of anything else that happened in 2017?

As i said a lot of people take the Age of Trump as 'their moment' and they will praise him among other, more genuine right-wing ideologues. However anti semitic and anti minority attacks did not begin the day Trump took office. This particular shooter may well have taken some of his cues from trump and that's bad enough - but he was also no doubt thinking of doing such a thing for a long time. Much of his adult life in fact.

The "Nut in New Zealand" was an abject failure. He only killed 49 people and that is 10 short of the world record (currently held by an American).

Who thinks that way except a white supremacist?

Oh come on now, Mr. Trump didn't even know the "Nut in New Zealand" so how could he possibly have "inspired" him.

It was reading all of that FAKE NEWS in the so-called "main stream media" that poisoned the mind of the "Nut in New Zealand".

People are 'inspired' by many things and many people. I never knew Abraham Lincoln but I've found the Gettysburg address very inspiring. Trump has most certainly inspired hundreds if not thousands of white supremacists over the past 3 years. Very few Blacks have ever met Martin Luther King but they find inspiration through his words. Millions of Christians have never seen Jesus Christ, yet they've been inspired by the stories about him as told in the Bible. White nationalists don't have to meet Trump to be inspired by the hateful xenophobic and racial speeches at his rallies and appearances like that one at CPAC. That's not by accident, Trump intentionally divides and creates chaos.

A person is judged by the company they keep. A person is also judged by the quality of those people who claim him or her as their compatriots, role models, guides or heroes. Trump is considered a hero by white supremacists and neo-Nazis. The official Ku Klux Klan newspaper endorsed Trump for president in 2016. Trump's closest advisers have included people with apparent sympathy for white nationalism and the "alt-right," including current White House adviser Stephen Miller and former White House strategist and campaign chair Steve Bannon, along with former advisers Michael Anton and Sebastian Gorka. Other lower-level officials in the Trump administration appear to share similar racist views.

  • A bunch of losers who can't get laid.
  • A bunch of losers who don't understand their own religion.
  • A bunch of losers who are "Pro-Life".
  • A bunch of losers who __[fill in the blank]__.

Can you see the vague hint of some slight, tenuous, connection there?

No, I was speaking about you specifically. Your comment was something that a 'hostile' white supremacist would say. Your comment implies that the man that murdered 50 in NZ is a failure because he didn't murder more people. So when I replied rhetorically asking "who thinks that way except a white supremacist?" I was specifically referring to you.

Then you responded that it would be "a bunch of losers who can't get laid", etc.

For Trump, things are either "nice" or "bad," "beautiful" or "ugly" and so on...
