Many Dead in New Zealand Mosque Shooting

My prayers go out to those that suffered from this horrible incident.
My hope going forward is now with 60 people dead from this kind of "nationalism ideology" that we can finally start calling them terrorist and catching them before this stuff happens. They are no better than any Islamic terrorists and should be treated as such.

Omg. Such sick people. What is wrong? I read there were 4 shooters. 3 men. 1 woman.

Many children go to mosques, and it must have been during Jumma Prayer. It is very crowded with women and children.

Holy crap. My local Muslim sisters Halaqa group has a copy of the FB video. The video really got around. They say he blamed the Muslims for their own deaths and the video is very graphic. They are not publishing the video, but have it.

That (bolded above) is where the major (political?) disagreement arrises. Some (too many?) wish to greatly expand government power to prevent anyone from having "access to" guns or to limit "hate speech" (expressing any "evil" opinions). Others see the loss of freedom from increased government power (gun bans and free speech suppression) as being (or becoming) even more of a problem. IMHO, evil (unlike personal freedom) cannot be legislated away and any attempts to do so make it even easier for evil nuts (alone or in small terror groups) to amass higher body counts when they decide to go out in a blaze of glory.

BTW, I realize that you said take personal precautions (arm themselves and/or see something say something?) but many want to pass (transfer?) that responsibility to government agents (authoritarians?) acting on their behalf.

As a conservative I don't oppose Socialism on it's aspirations, just on its inevitable outcomes.
