Senate rejects Trump border emergency as Republicans defect

I wasn't asked. Were you?
Yeah, because unless the doctor tests every drop of your blood, she can’t determine whether you’re infected.
Dismissing a poll because the entire population wasn’t polled displays a special kind of ignorance.

Completely agree with everything you said here.

The Republicans, as it turns out, aren't as completely stupid as the election of Trump made them out to be. I mean, some obviously are. But at least 12 aren't.

And of those 12, only Collins is up for re-election. The two retirees did vote aye, but the other 19 up for re-election voted no.

Those No votes include Thom Tillis of NC, who openly stated he would vote aye, along with his Op-Ed. ‘They’ ran ads at Thom. This is why impeachment is a fool’s errand.

Border patrol chief: Wall will 'most certainly' help secure southern border

Border patrol chief: Wall will 'most certainly' help secure southern border | TheHill

President Trump's proposed border wall will help federal agencies secure the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Carla Provost, the newly announced chief of U.S. border patrol.

"Most certainly, it already assists my men and women," Provost told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton on Wednesday.

"We already have many miles, over 600 miles of barrier along the border. I have been in locations where there was no barrier, and then I was there when we put it up. It certainly helps. It's not a be all end all. It's a part of a system. We need the technology, we need that infrastructure," she added in the interview that aired Thursday.

The Trump administration announced on Thursday that Provost would lead the agency, making her the first woman to ever hold the position.

I was polled twice the last 2 weeks. I don't know if this was one of them that polled me. After a while they all seem to be the same as the last one.

I was asked about the declaration in both polls.

I've never been polled. :(

They should leave this to the experts and the experts say barriers are needed. A barrier is need to slow down the flow of illegals crossing out Southern border everyday.
Are you saying you want shock collars on every illegal alien trying to cross the border? That is how an invisible fence works. Gues you don't understand the concept do you. A truly silly response!!!
The experts say no such thing. In fact, they say the wall is not needed.

I've never been polled. :(

Give me your number and I'll sell it - er, share it - to the pollsters!

I think once you agree to participate in polls your name gets on everyone's list. I get polled a lot. Especially around primary season here in NH. It's pretty much every stinking day. Polling companies, campaign pollsters, on and on and on. Once in a while I like to screw with them but mostly I play nice.

false equivalency. I haven't trusted polls since 2016.

What does that have to do with 12 Republican Senators agreeing with the Democrats that Trump should not have declared a national emergency?

With the exception of ME, which was split every Senator represents a state which voted for Trump. Meaning they voted for the wall. Meaning that Trump using this common tactic to get that done is pretty much OK by the people who these Senator's represent. (implicitly)

So what this tells me is that these senators either are carrying their own agenda or are the same sort that bent over and let Obama and Reid have their way with them for 8 years, which means, they all need to go.

You clearly wrote that you thought that the senators listed did not live up to your perceived responsibilities...

As I said, I am not responsible for what you think you read, totally ignoring that I stated I was replying in kind to a previous poster. Had you read them both it may have helped your perception, but I doubt it. So, do you think the previous poster clearly thought that the senators listed lived up to their perceived responsibilities to the "moronic Racist in Chief". Never mind, I am sure you do agree with all he said.

They weren't elected to support the President. They were elected to represent their Constituents.

And how many of their constituents have had their lives cut short by illegal immigrants?

And how many of their constituents have had their lives cut short by illegal immigrants?

I give up. How many? How many people were killed in Maine in the last 3 years by illegals? Alaska? Utah? You tell me.

I'll bet some of them have had their lives cut short by guns. Do you suggest they declare gun violence a national emergency?

Anyone have a list of the 12? I can't find an article that lists all of them and the vote's not up on the Senate website yet.

I'd bet anything Romney was one of them. Here's a guy who didn't have the spine to stand up to candy
crowley during the debates & don't trust him to have a spine to defend and protect the american people.
He will never be elected to any position outside the Mormon enclave known as Utah.

I think like Mrs. Clinton he's still hoping for another chance at the presidency. Some one should convince Mittens
to simply BUY AN ISLAND and declare himself "King Mitt". He could easily purchase one
of the Cayman Islands.

No I'm not. And neither are you.
I didn't say I was the last word in poll validity but I do believe in statistical analysis and don't dismiss polls because I find the results inconvenient. You instead, suggested the absurd idea that unless everyone is polled, it isn't valid.

Note: An 'invisible barrier' is an actual barrier. I am certain now, that even though I thought I'd made it quite clear what constitutes a barrier whether physical or technological, your brain is incapable of processing this information and it never will be.

The majority of the country supports Trump on this. He'll benefit from this greatly.

After stating he "didn't really need to do it [state of emergency]", the only folks who will believe him are those who are so on board with him it wouldn't matter what lies he told them.

So....are you guys just gonna declare a purge on your party's unbelievers or what?

Eat your own, Saturn did.

Good luck with that. Romney just took office 2 months ago. How should he be removed?

Kindly back up that statement with 3rd party support.

Last time I checked, 31% is not considered a majority.

National (US) Poll - March 6, 2019 - U.S. Voters Oppose Trump Emerg | Quinnipiac University Connecticut

If you actually have some facts or other evidence to support your statement, we all want to see it. Otherwise, we can only conclude that you, like many Trump supporters, are ill-informed.

And how many of their constituents have had their lives cut short by illegal immigrants?

Far, far less in aggregate or per capita, than were killed by native born Americans. Perhaps we should round up all native borns and ship them to Mexico? yes, that is absurd, but so was your point.

Interesting that both Houses of Congress just voted that THEY passed unconstitutional legislation granting the President Emergency power - something they apparently didn't realize with President Obama and President Bush used it.

So, should everyone in Congress who voted for the Emergency Powers Act be impeached and removed for defying the US Constitution when they passed that law?

Here the way I see it:

This group I see little problem with: Blunt, Moran, Lee, Paul, Portman, Toomey & Wicker who voted
against dangerous new precedent,” but are for the border wall.

Collins, Murkowski on decisive issues vote with Trump only about 50% of the time. He can never
really count on their votes on important issues

Alexander: I doubt even he realizes what's going on

Rubio wants to appeal to the RINO & independents to further his presidential fantasies

While Romney is a never-trumped to the core, a globalist who beats to the drum of Bill Crystal
morl likely to be seen on MSNBC or CNN than any other Republican in congress.

As for the Democrats there in two camps: One camp wants open borders as they see new votes
that will keep Democrats in power for all the decades to come.
They other camp are the blacks & their allies from the new ethic groups who to this point are allied
with the Democratic elites who have championed the rise of new ethnics like OAC, Tlied & Omar
into the fold.

It's my guess that the democrat elites seem to take pleasure of the dispossession
of their own ethnic group. It is a disease of the heart that never afflicted the America of Andrew Jackson,
Teddy Roosevelt or Dwight Eisenhower.

The prime architect of this ethnomasochism was Susan Sontag.
