Thank you. Surprised to see Wicker and Blunt on there. And surprised Tillis reversed himself after writing a pretty strongly worded op ed detailing why it the emergency declaration was unconstitutional.

Edit: And very surprised to see Gardner and McSally not on there despite being up in difficult seats next year.

I was just in Lamar Alexander's DC office two weeks ago. I must have rubbed off on him.

8 more is all they need in the Senate, and there are two that are already regretting not voting for the resolution. The House, though, is a harder haul, as they need 30 more. Is or possible? Yes, though not likely. I've had a chance to communicate with at least one Soldier on the border (deliberately being non-specific) who described the ridiculousness of their task. There were not enough areas to string concertina wire, so the ended up restringing the same length of fence...SIX TIMES. Yeah, that's a thoughtful use of resources.

The senate voted 59-41 to cancel trump's february proclamation of a border emergency, which he invoked to spend $3.6 billion more for border barriers than congress had approved. Twelve republicans joined democrats in defying trump in a showdown many gop senators had hoped to avoid because he commands die-hard loyalty from millions of conservative voters who could punish defecting lawmakers in next year's elections.

i am not the least bit surprised. Are you?

Actually i am surprised that 12 republicans voted for this. That is a huge number. I figured it would be a half dozen.

The majority of the country supports Trump on this. He'll benefit from this greatly.

No, they don't. And no, he won't.

The numbers I've seen are 52% of voters oppose Trump on this. Even if all remaining 48% supported him, (they don't) it still wound't be a majority.
