It's the people you are pinning your hope on who are desperate.

I go through periods of astonishment that Trump's habit of "projection" has been adopted by so many of his acolytes. Then I remember why they follow him. I've surveyed a LOT of forums and I just don't see that on the left side of the discussions. Maybe it's a left brain- no brain phenomenon.

    I found this statement interesting:
Former acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker privately acknowledged Wednesday that he had raised concerns with his staff at the Justice Department about the scope of the Southern District of New York's case against former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, according to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler and Republican aides.
Whitaker expressed concerns about Cohen case while serving as Justice Department chief (CNN). If accurate, kinda undercuts Collins' statement.

What fear is that? The fear of Russian collusion?

You mean like 2010? Sorry, but history didn't start with the election of Trump.

Didn't end there either. In politics nothing is ever settled. Trump was elected by such a thin margin and the Republican Senate majority so tenuous it wouldn't take many alienated evangelicals to turn the tables. Combine that with all those idiot Democrats who sat the last one out because Clinton was going to win hands-down showing up at the polls and the Republicans will have to do some serious damage control to their image if they want to be in the running. If they want to avoid the outer darkness.

Its a pendulum, dude. Republicans got creamed in 2008 only to sweep back into power in 2010. Dems are now coming back. Frankly, if you think about it, the GOP hold on the senate is quite safe. There are more red states than blue states so it makes sense that the way things are currently laid out that dems would hold the house and the Gop the senate

See that's the weird thing: it's not something which I'd hope to be true. Trump may have a real crappy public persona for many, but I'd prefer to think he's not that corrupt. If he is then so be it, but I don't hope that someone like that made it to the White House.
