Yep. I claimed from the getgo, that the biggest take-away for Joe Public was going to be just how dirty and criminal big business and big politics is.

We really are looking at the dark underbelly of capitalism and the American political process ...

I enjoy the fact Mueller's mandate declared that in their investigation of collusion any other crimes that arises would be referred to the proper authorities.

I enjoy because everyone around Trump is so corrupt, they can't breathe without some sort of financial crime.

Maybe I'll rethink some of my views on the FBI after this.

On reflection I realize my question was naive. Trump got away with outright fraud for decades, and his reward was (I assume) to be a billionaire. By the time he ran for President he must have come to believe himself invincible and smarter than everybody else.

Manafort doesn't have that, or he would have sold Trump out in a minute. All he has is his word, and his word is now useless. If Mueller ever used him as a witness against Trump, the WH would do to him what they did to Cohen, and point out that he's a liar who can't be trusted.

I surmise he has believed that he is better than everyone else from an early age.

There is a cognitive bias psychological condition known as the Dunning–Kruger effect. It is a condition is which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is. I suspect Donald Trump suffers from this condition. No one will know for sure, because he will never be properly evaluated.

The government may be done with him as a witness, perhaps, but I suspect they would be happy to take actionable intelligence that could be corroborated.

Perhaps the saddest part of Trump shutting-up Manafort, is the amount of Russian-Ukranian (and other) inside knowledge Manafort could supply. It's another example of why Trump is so terrible to this nation and the American way.

    Red:
I think he knew he didn't quite measure up to the folks with whom he was supposed to be a peer, and knowing so, he resorted to the "shady" stuff he did because he didn't think he'd "keep up" if he had to compete "normally."

    Blue:
Dunning-Kruger is essentially being (in one or more capacities) too stupid (incompetent) to know one is stupid (incompetent). I don't think Manafort suffers from that, but I'm sure Trump does.

I don't know. There is a ton more to this story.

    In other words,

One is too cognitively impaired, to realize they are cognitively impaired.

Actually, substance addicts often suffer from something similar. They are too impaired to grasp the depths of their addiction. While others around them see it clearly
