    So 7.5 years.

It was said that he could face up to ten years in prison atop the 43 months received last week.
It seems low in light of his crimes, his total lack of acknowledgment of culpability, and the extraordinary lengths to which he deceived investigators and the courts. I'm not a Federal Prosecutor (obviously) so my understanding of the broader context is clearly limited, but it's difficult not to come away with the conclusion that the circus-like nature of his trials contributed to his low sentence. It's also difficult not to suspect that the low sentence is motivated in some part by the hope that it would defeat any argument in favor of a pardon.

Exactly. How many died and suffered at the hands of those he helped empower?

And he worked directly against the U.S. government/American people; which would make it even more hideous if our President pardons him.

    Re: Paul Manafort Sentencing

For anyone who wants to listen to an extremely nerdy discussion on Federal sentencing as it pertains to Manafort, there is an excellent discussion between Renato Mariotti and Ken White (AKA "Popehat") on the March 9 episode of Mariotti's podcast.

    On Topic with Renato Mariotti

Fair warning: when two lawyers start discussing the law, it inevitably gets deep into the weeds and can at times be a little tough for the uninitiated to follow.

    I'm shocked.
I thought he would get a whole lot more, and yes, he deserves the maximum sentence.
