After the Mueller report it will be hard for the left to deny that investigations aren't anything more than a witch hunt. Up until now they could always say that it was Republicans who started the Mueller investigation and that Mueller is not partisan. Once Mueller is done it will be obvious to any person with objectivity that these new investigations are partisan witch hunts.

Me too. I can hardly wait for the conclusion of that investigation so the juicy parts can begin. The SDNY is going to 'nail them to the cross'. And...."I LOVE it" And, the SDNY doesn't have to get permission from those filthy republicans to indict his ass.

You have no idea what you have no idea about, unless you have Mueller's notes. Thus, Pelosi rightly stated that she doesn't want impeachment because she knows she needs Republican Senators to convict, which they will only do if the evidence is compelling.

I am old enough to remember Watergate. Back then, Republicans resisted impeachment until the evidence uncovered was overwhelming. We will find out shortly how much evidence exists against Individual-1 Trump.

The Republican Senate won't vote to convict, not unless a Russian nuke explodes over Louisville, KY. (or something equivalent)
So, by pushing a House impeachment, one is pushing a symbolic gesture that will MARTYR the guy, and just like Clinton, his popularity will skyrocket, so what is the point right now?

If something happens that convinces a sufficient number of Republicans that he has to be impeached, TRUST ME...with or without Turtle Boy, those Republicans will sit down with Ms. Pelosi and make it clear that she can count on their support.
And then, it will BE THE REPUBLICANS who will march over to the West Wing and have a nice little chat with Herr Trump, at which time he will either resign or tell them "they wouldn't dare"....at which point they better "dare".

So barring that, what is the payoff for Pelosi?

She is trying to save seats from flipping in 2020. She wants to impeach him but she knows public opinion toes favor her position.

Yeah, it really hurt the GOP when they impeached Bill Clinton. Bush II won the WH, the GOP picked up 5 seats in the Senate, kept the House. I'll take that.

Adam Schiff and gang are set to interrogate dozens of Trump associates in an effort to uncover some sort of crime, hoping that will lead to Trump's removal before he can nominate another SCOTUS justice.

I have to laugh at the 'this is news..." part. Nancy Pelosi has been incredibly consistent in her opposition to impeachment hearings as long as she has been in Congress. Hell she was speaker when progressives were working on impeachment hearings for George Bush based in The torture memos and the lies about WMD in Iraq that justified the war. She stopped that in its tracks. If anybody voted for Pelosi in the caucus, thinking they were getting an ally for impeachment hearings, they were stupid beyond belief. She will NOT allow any articles of impeachment to get to the floor. Period. by the way, I agree with her. If the votes aren't there in the Senate there is no point in wasting all that time. We all remember what happened with Henry Hyde and his impeachment efforts.

This has been Speakers Pelosi's stand since winning in Nov. Other than Righties here at DP taking a failed slam at those who oppose Rump this thread accomplishes zero.

She has never called for the impeachment of Trump. Your post is a lie.

She never tried to impeach Bush or Cheney either, even though she was pressured by her caucus and the public.

Trump Fan Nation is the group who has been screaming about impeachment. Not Pelosi.
