Ocasio-Cortez, at SXSW, blasts FDR, Reagan and capitalism, says political moderates are 'meh'

it doesn't matter if you don't pay your taxes avoid paying your taxes etc ... the government comes with force and arrests you.
again semantics is not an argument.

There are hundreds of thousands of Americans who owe back taxes and have not been arrested. Their filings were honest and not fraudulent

Obviously AOC is a perfect illiterate and would not have named her program The Green New Deal if she knew the New Deal was the Great Depression and world war two. Do you understand?

That's quite a conflation. :lamo

Halliburton, Boeing, Raytheon and many other companies are doing quite well with the wealth redistributed their way.

when you buy from a business its not called redistribution. 1+1=2. We bought victory through 2 world wars from military and thus saved civilization on earth. Cheap at any price!!

Redistribution is when you steal money at gunpoint from those who earned it and waste it on crippling, vote-buying entitlements.

Nice dodge sir!

Blame it all on Medicare and Social Security.

Do you know the difference between a country and its government?

Yeah, let's ignore the waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare and SS because it is spending in the name of compassion and focus on the number one purpose of the Federal Gov't National defense! You people really have a credibility problem, Our defense budget is 900 billion dollars and entitlement spending is 2.8 trillion dollars so let's address the 900 billion and ignore the elephant in the room. I am on Medicare which I paid for and it isn't something to write home about

That's quite a conflation. :lamo

you too didn't know that the New Deal was the Great Depression? See why they need to bring the study of history back?

no it isn't it is fact.

So what happens when you don't pay your taxes?
the government comes by forces and takes you to jail.

how in the fricken world is that anarchy? you don't even know the definition of anarchy then.

I am saying that your whiny complaints point to anarchy. Don't EVEN TRY to twist this around.
You're the one suggesting that ALL taxation is "violent coercion" and "theft", which means that you are so anti-government as to demand that there BE NO government, save for maybe the military.

The ONLY PEOPLE who talk in terms of "theft" and "violent coercion" ("taxes are collect by threat of force and gun.") and other such nonsense are the doomsday preppers, sovereign citizens, extreme ultra-libertarian anarchist types, the whole raft of screeching anti-government crusaders who are convinced that a modern nation can be run as it might have been in the 18th century.

You speak in the same terms as many anarchists do, therefore you have a love and a yearning for anarchy, and you see the rest of the country in stark black and white terms, you versus "the big government tyrants".

Pro tip: When dealing with people like yourself, it turns out that collecting taxes wasn't workable when they tried just asking politely. ;)
Some of you guys get so angry that the IRS has a designation for your kind, the PDT, or "potentially dangerous taxpayers".

How does one actually separate anti-government extremists from ordinary "According to Hoyle" garden variety anarchists?
Is it like separating radioisotopes or is it like separating stems and seeds from pot?
I don't know if your continuously escalating anti-government rants would qualify you as an actual "According to Hoyle" PDT but the more I hear you talk about guns and violence in reference to taxes, the more I have to admit that I wonder if you have posters of Gordon Kahle or Joseph Stack on your wall.

Either way, debate that with yourself...all I know is, I know what you sound like and I certainly hope that flying isn't one of your hobbies.

Let's face it, you and AOC are two peas in a pod as she represents everything you stand for which is nothing but wealth redistribution, no personal responsibility, and a massive central gov't. Nothing you have ever posted shows any understanding of the Constitution, our economy, civics. or personal responsibility. Like most liberals you are a waste of time as you refuse to engage in even honest debate, never admit when wrong, and always divert from the official results to attack an ideology that promotes personal responsibility as well as individual wealth creation

Let's face it... you don't know what you are talking about.

.

wrong of course this was the exact language of Milton Friedman and other libertarians like those who Founded our country! Our country is great because of freedom and will not be great when it is based on constant civil war with one group trying to rip off another.

"We still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping at the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised to furnish new pretenses for revenue and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without a tribute."

-- Thomas Paine

Obviously AOC is a perfect illiterate and would not have named her program The Green New Deal if she knew the New Deal was the Great Depression and world war two. Do you understand?

No. I don't. Please teach us more.

but as a typical liberal you cant say why you think that????

He does what he does which is much like what you do. Get personal and pretend to tell others what they think. Not much debating with such asinine behavior. Do you understand?

well, why not lookup New Deal and Great Depression and see if they occurred at same time??

Great depression started in 1929
New Deal passed into law in 1933
U.S. entered WWII in 1941

Next?

Great depression started in 1929
New Deal passed into law in 1933

Next?

so you're saying New Deal and Great Depression only overlapped for 12 years and not 16?

Rexford Tugwell:
"We didn't admit it at the time but practically the Whole New Deal was extrapolated from programs Hoover Started!"

Let's face it... you don't know what you are talking about.

You don't have a lot of credibility on making that statement except to other socialists who want to believe what you post

This thread is a great read. :lamo

So? What's your point?

You don't have a lot of credibility on making that statement except to other socialists who want to believe what you post

Thank you for grading my credibility. I'm sure you've influenced many on this forum with that statement.

You have the same credibility changing the mind of a conservative as I have changing the mind of a liberal/progressive. Not sure what the purpose then is of your posts or mine. I will stick to official data, you stick with your radical leftwing opinions

Are you a current or former coke or crack addict?
I've been clean for almost twenty-five years but I used to snort, then later SMOKE, over an eight-ball of the stuff every day.

I snorted quite a bit of coke in my youth....later, got into meth...got out of it. Then years later, smoked it for a short period. Very addictive stuff. been clean for 20+ years.
Now I enjoy some cannabis (concentrate) and nice wine on occasion.

An 8 ball a night? That is some serious ****. Congrats on staying clean.....tough to do.

There is little correlation between top tax rates and economic growth.

Well, then, there is no need to raise the top tax rate if raising the tax rate will have no effect on the economy. Democrats have said the government cannot go broke, does not need a debt ceiling, and will not need to pay back the debt. So why raise taxes at all?

Not really all that tough, not in retrospect. Quitting CIGARETTES, now THAT was DAMN tough.
I only fell off the coke wagon twice after I quit, both times were one night screwups, a month or so apart, then after that, it "took" and I stayed clean.
Cigarettes? It took me THIRTEEN TRIES over a forty year period.

What I was getting at originally is, no one but an idiot buys their crack one rock at a time.
Yes yes, plenty do, and they're idiots and street dealers HATE them because they're not worth the risk or the trouble.

And when you get into the big time like I did (har har - not proud of it, believe me) you don't buy crack at all, you buy the coke and you cook your own rock. I graduated past the nonsense on the stove and was microwaving my powder and getting big honking crack "pancakes" 30 or 40 seconds later.

I didn't score on the street, I would make a phone call and twenty minutes later a kid that looked like they were straight out of community college would drop it off, and they were straight arrow, never touched their product. A couple of 8-balls for $120-150 each in Santa Monica back in 1988.

I know enough about you.

I know you're an anonymous internet poster who makes claims he can't support

I can support my "claims." I have all the diplomas to prove it. Just, of course I wouldn't identify myself to a nutjob like you. We are all anonymous here. But don't assume people are not educated just because they like a politics forum. I mean, if you are not, there are those who are.
