When she says something like this...

And then I see something like this...

When we all invest in them, then the wealth is for all of us too.”

All I can think of about that bolded part vs the second quote is "BULL****!" She may be be saying its not about abolishing capitalism...but everything that she's espousing are things that will end up abolishing it in the end. Maybe if we lived in a Star Trek like society I could see a need for abolishing capitalism. But we don't. We do not have replicators which would allow such. Such would be a main component needed for an actual socialist society to succeed that didn't end up in thousands or millions of deaths.

Anyone familiar with history would know that people like AOC led to the birth of Communism and Socialism and we all know the end results of both. She is appealing to the fringe radicals but unfortunately a growing number of malcontents that buy the rhetoric and ignore the end results. All one needs to do is look at Venezuela now

You're right. AOC is anti-capitalist and want to grab what others have made and earned to redistribute wealth. AOC is lurching the Left further into identity politics and the culture of victimhood (which is to say intersectionality) and pitting whites vs. everyone else.

Well, to be fair capitalism does have its faults. No system is perfect. But unlike theocratic, socialist, monarchies and communist governments capitalism hasn't killed millions upon millions of people. Capitalism has in fact been one of the main reasons that we have a society that is as free as we have it right now.

Wow wait a minute... the reason we have communism and socialism is because of people like YOU and other conservatives believing they were the only ones who could rule and that capitalism was allowed to exploit people and keep the masses in poverty and hell. That is why we have socialism as it is a reaction the the abuses of the conservative political sphere and its domination of world politics and economics up to the mid 1800s.

Rest: I don't see her pitting whites vs everyone else. I do see her using identity politics, but I don't see her trying to pit whites vs everyone else.

Right now, AOC is riding the social media wave and she actively dodges any REAL debate. She appeals to the intellectually incurious, history ignorant and snowflake generation who are used to getting participation trophies.
It's truly a testament to how stupid her ensorcelled audience really is when you realize this women just lost NYC 25,000 high-paying jobs, and NY BILLIONS in tax revenue, and they hang onto her every utterance.
The irony is that Hillary et. al. blamed Trump supporters for living in the past, when all AOC and her ilk want to do is keep Americans living in the past century and have millenials not even alive during that time, feel aggrieved for a culture they never living in or through.

You are right that capitalism predates socialism and communism. Ironically capitalism has far less deaths attributed to it in its entire life span than either socialism or communism.

Wow, how can one person, you, be so wrong. Capitalism is what makes things better, creates individual wealth, takes pressure off the govt. to provide for personal responsibility issues. Exploit people? How has capitalism exploited you? Your problem is you never want to accept responsibility for poor choices you make as in capitalism you are capable of being the best you can be but in your case that is the problem as you aren't capable of being better. Socialism spreads misery equally to everyone else and always spends someone else's money.

AOC isn't particularly keen on more laissez faire rather than less of it, but then neither are Trump and his Trumpkins; consequently, hypocritically flat fall conservatives' rants about AOC's assault on capitalism.

Properly observant of her and her collective ideology.

Put it this way.
Given that your lean is Socialist; If you lived in a socialistic society that allowed freedom for alternative ideologies to be expressed and be elected within that society (something that wouldn't happen), you too would be as observant of someone elected who was expressing an ideology opposed to the one you currently lived under.

How can one group socialism with communism? It is capitalism and communism that are at the more extreme ends and it is the extremes that most hurt society.

I too voted for Ray-gun, twice. I learned that "trickle down" was called "piss on" by the elites.

It's all in how you package it.
 
FDR interned Japanese-Americans in concentration camps, while Reagan politicized the crack epidemic with countermeasures that dis-proportionally targeted people of color in the 1980's and 1990's (and even today although it is slightly approving). "My heart and my best intentions still tell me that's true but the facts and the evidence tell me it is not," was Reagan's piss-poor whining response to being exposed for having lied about the Iran-Contra scandal. Seriously. But, go ahead, keep bitching and moaning about a 20-something-y/o lefty that only now just began her tenure in government. Seriously, who the **** knows what's going to be coming out of a potential Senator AOC or perhaps President if an earlier scandal doesn't consume her.

And if it doesn't, it'll be because of the incessant 'boy who cried AOC' threads/nothingburgers that kneecapped any viable criticism of her earlier on when it didn't matter.

You completely miss the point of the 2nd sentence.
The point that even in socialism and communism both end up with some who are treated better than the rest, and the example given were politburo members.

This is historically accurate if you look at both the Russian and Chinese politburos as well as the Venezuelans in their government and military, who receive preferential treatment.
