Kamala Harris' Jamaican father rips her for pushing pot stereotype 'in pursuit of identity politics'

I believe we can...but first, our extremes, on both ends of the spectrum, need to STFU, and stop trying to act American. We're not, and we'll never be. Thank God! (Sorry American friends, just two Canucks chatting here, we still love you)

We need to calm the rhetoric down to boring old Canadian politics - the kind that actually gets stuff done without ripping the country in half. We need to compromise. We need to understand that younger generations are taking over, and deciding where this country will go. If that means building a more compassionate, tolerant, anti-asshole societal philosophy, well...so be it. You guys had your chance, it wasn't great, it wasn't terrible, and I'm sure the same thing will be said about my generation, and every generation after me - which is fine, so long as they also say we were uniquely Canadian, which was never a fixed position, but rather an approach.

We may need a change, but we do not need a regression, nor do we need to plagiarize the catastrophes of other nations. We're more than capable of creating our own. ;) I'll stand by Trudeau, girlie man socks and all, until a better option comes along. I don't see one yet, my friend.

But I'm all about your wife's beer. ;)

We'll trade you Trump for the guy with the girlie socks. We'll even toss in Sidney Crosby and Justin Bieber to sweeten the deal.

Scared of Pot. Scared of "sluts".

I bet he goes to the best parties, when he isn't busy at bible study.

:lamo As much as I wanna be a dick, I'm thinking American would be a riot at parties. There would just be a firm no politics rule at play. Maybe make that a no talking rule at play... lol Insufferable, yes. Unentertaining...no.

(You gotta get to know American, he's one of my favorite super villains on DP. Don't tell him I said so, though...it would drastically lower my **** talk cred.)

:lamo Am I allowed to tell you to kiss my ass up here? I don't think so...I better not. And for the record, Bieber might actually trump Trump for being the least desirable addition to Canadian society. Apparently Snoop Dogg wants to move up here now, though, thanks to legal pot...he can come.

I'll come if the pot is legal. I'll leave Trump in this country. His fan base would weep themselves into comas if Trump left.

Yes. I have researched this.

That surely isn't what someone would call a "slut". The OP has to really chill out with this random incel behavior - it cost him this thread.

Please don't use my post to comment on another DP member.

Sound like Russian propaganda designed to fool the gullible and poorly educated.

Yes - this is the new version of the divide America campaign the Russians and Trump engaged in during the 2016 campaign. This time the nation is onto their scam and its not going to work and be constantly exposed.

American Trumpkins should be ashamed of themselves for being part of this treason designed to hurt out nation and divide our people.

I don't think they will feel any shame. They serve a new Master now.

They probably feel pride at having served Master so well.

Is anyone surprised that the Democratic Party is allowing a joke of a woman like this to represent them;
Is that who she represents? Could have sworn it was the people in her district.

So a pot-smoking slut now insults her own family.
There you go, next time ask her on a date.

So they're both wrong. But men haven't been making a galactic ****ing deal out of equality. If you want equality then ****ing earn it, don't spread your legs to get it. She did, and I'm calling it out.

:doh

I can't believe the crap you are slinging in this thread. A female politician dated a male politician 30 years ago, a man who had been separated from his wife for years, and you dare refer to her in such vile, sexist terms for no other reason than she's female and a democrat? What is wrong with you?

She's a Senator. She represents a state, not a district.
You are right, my apologies, confused her with the ambitious one from Queens.
Still she does not represent the party.

Is this what you're blathering on about?
Did Sen. Kamala Harris Use an Affair With a Married Man to Launch Her Career? - Truth or Fiction?
I'm afraid reading this won't make you feel as uncomfortable as it should.

From the horse's (Willie Brown) own mouth:

"Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker," Brown wrote Saturday. Brown was the speaker from 1980 to 1995, prior to his stint as San Francisco mayor.

Brown appointed Harris to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and then to the Medical Assistance Commission – positions that paid her more than $400,000 over five years, according to SF Weekly. Brown also gave Harris a BMW.

"And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco," he said in his Chronicle letter Saturday.

Willie Brown on Kamala Harris: 'We dated,' I 'influenced her career'

From the horse's ass, I think you meant to say. ;) Very convenient that this guy is coming out of the woodworks to throw around such sketchy, unprovable allegations. I thought you right leaning folk tended to side with the accused in sordid affairs like this. What gives?

I want to keep you honest, so I added for you another thing that Brown said. From the same link a few sentences lower...

"The difference is that Harris is the only one who, after I helped her, sent word that I would be indicted if I 'so much as jaywalked' while she was D.A.," Brown wrote. "That’s politics for ya."

This should be the end of the discussion...

C'mon up, then, whatcha waiting for? :) You have heard that pot is legal across all of Canada, have you not?

Those "allegations" were true; ask Kamala ... :lamo

And why is that?!?

Fact is, Brown appointed her to two state commissions ... after she spread her legs for him.

The BMW was just the icing on the cake ... :lamo

Okay! I was talking about me. Personally, I do not care if one spreads the legs to get connections and rise to power or if he plays golf with powerful people or whatever. It is her personal life! As long as there is no corruption, I am fine with it.
Now, if you want to talk about it, you are obviously free to do so, but you will have to explain why the conservatives do not talk about Melania's spreading of legs...

Corruption was the part when he paid her for her services by appointing her to two state commissions.

What political offices did Melania get?

This is a valid point, but if this is the metric of corruption then what is the difference in corruption between appointing your sexual partner in two state commissions and appointing your son in law (Kushner) as a senior advisor in the administration?

I see (grin), you wanted to harp about Melania but it didn't go quite the way you expected ...

If you give reasonable arguments, I have no problem to accept them and come back with a different one that you cannot refute
