“Whistleblowers from within President Donald Trump's National Security Council have told a congressional committee that efforts by former national security adviser Michael Flynn to transfer sensitive nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia may have violated the law, and investigators fear Trump is still considering it, according to a new report obtained by NBC News.”

“Career national security officials objected to the plan, citing what they deemed Flynn's conflict of interest, and also that the proposal sought to bypass a policy review that is required whenever nuclear technology is transferred to another country, the report says.”

“The report quotes one senior Trump official as saying that the proposal was ‘not a business plan,’ but rather ‘a scheme for these generals to make some money,’ and added, ‘OK, you know we cannot do this.’”

“‘Experts worry that transferring sensitive U.S. nuclear technology could allow Saudi Arabia to produce nuclear weapons that contribute to the proliferation of nuclear arms throughout an already unstable Middle East,’ the report says.”

Wow, retired generals profiting on giving Saudi Arabia nuclear technology! How corrupt is this administration?

Flynn was fired two years ago.

I have a feeling Flynn is destined to get off scot-free from that Mueller witch hunt, so the dems have to find another angle to "punish" anyone connected to Trump.

I did. Both Flynn and the other guy were fired long ago.
You didn't.
The Oversight Committee, led by Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., said its investigation of the plan "is particularly critical because the administration's efforts to transfer sensitive U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia appear to be ongoing."

Thank you. This is a big issue, and won’t go away.

So many issues were swept under the rug by the obstructionist House Republicans. Nunes said it would "all go away" if they lost the House. I hope he was right :)

One did wonder why the Trump administration never said boo about the Saudi murder of WaPo journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey.

Now we know. They're about to transfer nuclear secrets to the Saudis. Probably a nice fat Saudi paycheck for Trump in 2021.

Yep, now we know. Don’t forget Kushner’s 666 bailout. Quid pro quo?

Look at it this way....

Saudi Crown Prince and Khashoggi murderer Mohammad bin Salman had Trump by the proverbial short-hairs.

He knew Trump was secretly transferring US nuclear technology to his country.

That's why Trump did everything possible to sweep the Khashoggi murder under the rug. To mollify MBS and keep him quiet.

Makes sense. Kushner got a nice loan for his 666 5th ave building bailout. Trump family seems cozy with the Saudis. What I find shocking is generals trying to profit from giving the Saudis nuclear technology, and potential for them to make weapon grade plutonium.

Retired generals attempted profiteering from nuclear proliferation. That issue is not going away...

From your aource:

The proposal, which involved enlisting the U.S. nuclear power industry to build nuclear plants across the Middle East,

It was nuclear power plant technology. Not nuclear weapons technology.

Did you spin it that way intentionally, or did you read the headline and jump to that conclusion?

Nothingburger.

Remember when conservatives were foaming at the mouth over the Uranium One conspiracy theory where they claimed Hillary sold uranium to the Russians via Rosatom in a quid pro quo? Rosatom which is headed by Sergei Kiriyenko who is mentioned in the Steele dossier involving an attempted cover up of Trump's coziness with Russia?

Also on the board of Rosatom is Andre Klepach who is chief economist of VEB, a Russian bank that has ties to Trump going back years and whose President, Sergei Gorkov, Kushner met with in December 2016, which Kushner conveniently forgot to mention on his security clearance forms? The same Sergei Gorkov who was head of Sberbank in 2013, the biggest sponsor of Trump's 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Russia? The same Gorkov, and the same VEB, that provided cover for and funded convicted Russian spy Evgeny Buryakov, in whose indictment Carter Page is listed, and which served as part of the basis for the initial FISA warrant against him?

So we've got Republicans foaming at the mouth about Hillary selling uranium to the Russians via Uranium One / Rosatom in an alleged quid pro quo via the Clinton Foundation. We have zero evidence that Hillary was even involved in the Uranium One deal, or that there was any quid pro quo.

Then on the other hand we've got Trump and his campaign directly connected via numerous tentacles to Rosatom and its directors. Yet this isn't a big deal to them?

Now, it's not a problem that Trump is providing nuclear technology to the same regime that brutally murdered thousands of US civilians on US soil in one of the most notorious and violent terrorist attacks in the country's history?

Or a recognition that as Iran will be going nuclear, a nuclear Saudi Arabia might be needed as a counterweight.

LMAO nice try, Iran is complying with the nuclear deal despite the US pulling out.

Why are you okay with giving nuclear secrets to terrorists who have already murdered thousands of US civilians?

a scheme for these generals to make some money

Did I read that right?

You actually believe that. Huh? :lamo

Not giving them nukes. The technology to produce weapons grade plutonium. I know you are not so dense that you cannot understand why this is a bad idea.

That's what someone supposedly said, but with the media's record of late, who the **** knows if it's true.

Hell everyone in this thread, but me, think this deal was about nuclear weapons. :lamo
