Donald Trump talks of 'retribution' after Alec Baldwin sketch on SNL

She can say she's not a duck until the cows come home, but if she's advocating the complete substitution of government medical insurance for private medical insurance then she's a socialist. What she's advocating certainly isn't capitalism.

You're ignoring the standard and long term definition of socialism which blows the Right right out of its intellectual swamp.

This is the primeminister of Norway. That she show that as a politcians you should even endure music playing medieval jesters following you around then you out walking. You can put on subtitles to the video.

You can support socialistic programs and still not be a literal socialist. Dems and Republicans have been doing it for decades, and with success.

Especially when said programs are WILDLY popular among the American Public (60/70%+).

Surely you have an ounce of common sense and understand these facts.

Exactly. I wonder if Democrats should start defending Social Security from Donald Trump, loudly and often. He proclaimed we wouldn't be a socialist country, so presumably he's about to come after social security. Well, after some executive time and a few rounds of golf...

Maybe you should look at the 2010 midterm elections under Obama when the Democrats suffered the largest midterm election shift since 1938. The Republicans gained 63 seats in the House and six seats in the Senate. Nonetheless, Obama was reelected two years later. So I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

Yes, and Obama recorded 5 million fewer votes in 2012. Trump won by 85,000. He has no margin to be giving up any votes, much less 5 million. Moreover, Obama had an approval rating in the low 50's just before the election, and still gave up 5 million votes.

Trump has never had an approval rating north of 50% AND shown no ability to expand his base. With 57% of voters saying they definitely will not vote for him, I think its pretty safe to say this guy is a one-hit wonder.

Everyone knows Tina Faye did the Palin impersonation on SNL. SNL is a laffs program that's been on air for decades and decades. People like humor -- well, most people. Only rightwingers oppose humor on tv in its several iterations. Programs of humor exist within the First Amendment which the Right opposes. In fact the only provision of the Bill of Rights the Right accepts is its own mangled intepretation of the second amendment. To hell with the other nine starting with the First.

In respect of your avatar you've got it wrong. Way wrong. I like the avatar of you in your finest military uniform and the setting especially. It's more than I could ever ask for in any avatar a Putinphile would put up. It's like a confession that is entirely legal, material, relevant. I figure it's inside your house there in Alabama and on the wall of your den along with your other prized possessions.

Tell us more thx.

So glad that I can still trigger you and it's so funny to see you're own interpretation of how the right likes to view the world. Because coming from a regressive, it's probably the most telling of how you can barely manage the world around.

In order for any of you're opinions to be remotely correct. I would need to see some citations first. So considering your already have a pretty dubious history on that fact, you have my best wishes in whatever attempt you can mount.

Thank goodness that it’s the toxic Twitter platform and not Trump himself! Stand in front of a mirror and read this and try to take yourself seriously.
I don't recall saying that Trump wasn't part of the problem.

I do take myself seriously. Though if you want to act as though the rest of the platform doesn't even exist and that no one else is part of the problem. Then there is no real way to help you. Because even in the prospect of it, we've had people on the left attack just some of the most basic supporters for Trump on twitter with threats of violence and death, only to receive no punishment from the platform owners. Despite it being flagrantly in defiance of their content policies. Covington having been the best example in recent memory. With people calling for the murder and assault of those kids. One woman even going so far as to offer oral sex for the first person attack them on her behalf.

You get attacks on Trump, even though he could just be calling for solidarity of the nation in the wake of a tragedy. Coming from posters both big and small. So the next time you want to put words in my mouth, I hope you would realize that you're better than that.

Touché. However, your statement that Trump exhibits decorum is ludicrous beyond measure. Looking in the mirror and reading your post must have hurt.

No, no hurt to be found here. I hold to my stance on the subject, seeing as it's well founded given the evidence at hand.

That is also to say that I do respect your opinion on the subject. It's just that I can't wholly blame Trump for something that is most evidently a symptom of a larger problem. We've seen him and his supporters get attacked in the past over some of the smallest things and in other cases out of the blue.

Am I to take it that you'd willingly stand with the people on the left that continually perpetrate this kind of hate, simply because it's in spite of Trump?

Thank you for that. I mean it. No, I do not stand with people who hate, whether it’s on the right or the left. I am for smaller and less intrusive government (much smaller and much less involved in our lives). I bet that surprises you. I believe in liberty and freedom and rule of law. I don’t like Trump because he does spew hate, and he lies to us all the time. This might be hard for you to accept, but the truth is all out there—he does everything in plain site. The one thing I like about Trump is that he is genuine—what you see is what you get (I just don’t like what I see).

If you don't like him simply because he lies. Then what has been your opinion on our last three presidents?

Because despite the fact that they too have lied to the vast majority of the US and continued to do so. I can still acknowledge that they've done something good for the country on one occasion, or the other.

The post says nothing. So it's the usual post by you to include the fractured English as you post from down there in Alabama. And with your avatar that I mention often and always commend you on presenting to us to illustrate your status as a Putin-Trump Fanboy.

The second paragraph is your standard stuff, i.e., demand citations, documentation etc so you can continue to ignore all of it while demanding same in numerous follow on posts as if they'd never been presented by the poster. In this instance and once again, c'est moi. No one falls into that any more and don't you know it well by now.

They’re not Boy Scouts, I get it. But Trump tells them every day. Not all are lies, but falsehoods, exaggerations, facts out of thin air. On and on. I’m sure you don’t read the Washington Post, but they have a database of them. It’s pretty bad. You don’t hear about it on conservative news. That’s why I read a wide variety of news. When you do, the bias stands out. I don’t like Trump’s policies, either. Nationalism/isolationism is a bad idea—we need open trade. Trade wars are not helping. The tax cuts will balloon the debt, we are alienating our allies and getting cozy with Putin. The 70 year post WWII era is being threatened. Frankly, Oborosen, he scares me. I question Trump’s ability to handle a real crisis, like another 9/11, God forbid. He acts like a child sometimes—very embarrassing on the world stage. Need I go on? There is more. You don’t need to counter debate this post—it won’t change my view. But, since you were kind enough to ask, I give you some of my reasons for opposing the current president. I love America, and I know you do, too. Thanks.

I don't intend to counter, no. Though I must say that it's not as bad as people try to make it out to be. I for one can understand having a legitimate reason to not like the man, but not liking him because of some fictitious response, which I'm not saying is what you're doing. Is not something that I could ever get behind. Dislike him for his policies, fine. I've had my issues with his policies in the past and with others I've been fine.
I for one do think that he could do with growing thicker skin. But he does seem to handle himself better on the world stage with the other leaders, if one could look past the kind of coverage that he gets from the news.

Which if I'm to be frank. Speaking with any of my foreign correspondents has become a game of, telling them what actually happened as of late. I know another doctor from the Netherlands who for a long time, thought the Covington kids actually assaulted the native American man and it's even worse when you get to issues, like what is happening with Jessie Smallette. Because that story is currently running on both media drive and celebrity activist pushing it at the same time.

I've seen no evidence of him actually being cozy with Putin. Nor have I seen that him going for nationalism in a stronger message isn't a good idea. While I don't even think that I've seen any tell tale sign of him pushing for isolationism at all in recent months, not that I can recall any amount of it before.

I understand what you're saying, I really do. It's just that it's not at all as bad as people are trying to sell it.
