Donald Trump talks of 'retribution' after Alec Baldwin sketch on SNL

I don't...At least not live anymore....If there is a skit that gets attention, I usually pull it up on youtube, lately most though are just triggered nonsense....

You're talking about how big meanie weanies they are at SNL, who is triggered?

It's always "mean spirited" when it hits close to home, isn't it?

No, some of them are funny, but usually in today's environment they more often than not are just emotional triggered nonsense....I understand you may like that sort of thing, but it is wearing thin when it is every show....

Fantastic rebuttal.

All they have to do is get enough votes. The constitution says the intent is for "high crimes and misdemeanors" but Congress is literally the body that decides what that means. There isn't an appeals process.

Sure, if you believe that Congress should be using Impeachment as a political tool....I personally think it should be rare...But, if you don't care about elections, then I guess you can think that.

You're talking about how big meanie weanies they are at SNL, who is triggered?

Um, you are, because you literally just posted no less than 3 posts, within 3 minutes of my post....lol

Baldwin has stated that his personal safety is now at risk because of Trumps statements. He’s correct. If some loose cannon psycho takes Trumps statements to heart and attempts to shoot up NBC studios or kill Baldwin, Trump is culpable.

Oh please....Do you ever post anything intelligent? Or does it always have to be seething hatred from you?
I'm not the one fervently kissing Trump's ass.

Yes, yes...I know that many in your camp would love to live in what I call, "the History of now", and forget that any other President's or administrations existed before Trump...It is a wonderful excuse to display your unbridled rage every day in here....Problem is, that it clouds your integrity.

Other President's were usually very chill about comedy being done about them. I've posted videos and quotes ITT about that.

Has SNL done any skits about AOC, Warren, Covington, Pelosi, Schumer, any one of the freaks running for President etc.? Will we see some Smollett skits in the future?
SNL has parodied every president. Richard Nixon was made fun of on the 1960 show Laugh In. What did Nixon do? He went on as a guest.

The only president shown unable to take a joke is the Orange Menace.

I don't think there should be. Trump is too defensive in these situations. He should just go with it.

He can't. He is not capable of self-reflection. Everything is about him. His ego is as big as Texas and as fragile as a child's soap bubble.

Trump is a clown on a whole 'nother level.

Laugh now while you want, but Trump was elected in order to send a message to the Establishment. Apparently, they're not getting it. So there will be more wailing to the heavens in 2020.

Retribution can come in several different forms. Perhaps some mockery of SNL themselves would be appropriate. Or taking a hit in their sagging ratings would be another form of retribution or Republicans boycotting their advertisers until their political scorn is a little more balanced. I know I can laugh at both sides if it is fair. But SNL lost me a long time ago because they are not balanced.

Balance isn't funny. Just sayin'. The best comedy is always biased.

Congress has lower approval ratings than Trump by a bunch. I agree Trump makes a rich target but so does crying Chuck and chewing her cud Nancy. And AOC is hysterical she begs to be mocked.

Go ahead, no one is stopping you. Write up some skits, submit them to SNL. If they're funny, perhaps they'll do 'em for ya. Or you could create a comedy show of your own.

My point is, whining about someone else's view of what's funny accomplishes nothing.

Other President's were usually very chill about comedy being done about them. I've posted videos and quotes ITT about that.

Very true, and I've already said, I wish that the President would let this sort of thing roll off his back....But, he is vocal about it, and liberals know he will be, that is I think at least part of the reason they do it.

After being trashed numerous times by the Smothers Brothers, President Johnson wrote them,

“It is part of the price of leadership of this great and free nation to be the target of clever satirists. You have given the gift of laughter to our people. May we never grow so somber or self-important that we fail to appreciate the humor in our lives.”

And yet, the Smothers Brothers were canceled at the height of their stellar ratings. Kudos to Johnson, but Nixon somehow managed to silence the Smothers Brothers through strong-arming CBS, appealing to their censors, and getting local affiliates in some markets to stop airing the show.

Well, I would say that twitter wasn't really available to Presidents before Obama, and he never ran to complain because SNL wasn't anywhere near as tough on him...But that aside, I'll agree that Trump is a little too thin skinned when it comes to that...He should do what I do, when SNL goes over the edge I change the channel...

Being 'thin skinned' is not a symptom of anything illness related...In fact Obama was rather thin skinned himself...

"I thought of this memo after reading the comment by Sen. Pat Roberts after he and other Senate Republicans had a contentious 80-minute meeting with the president on Tuesday. “He needs to take a Valium before he comes in and talks to Republicans,” Roberts said. “He's pretty thin-skinned.”

Sen. Roberts is being too generous. Obama is among the most thin-skinned presidents we have had, and we see evidence of it in every possible venue imaginable, from one-on-one interviews to press conferences, from extemporaneous remarks to set speeches.

The president is constantly complaining about what others are saying about him. He is upset at Fox News, and conservative talk radio, and Republicans, and people carrying unflattering posters of him. He gets upset when his avalanche of faulty facts are challenged, like on health care. He gets upset when he is called on his hypocrisy, on everything from breaking his promise not to hire lobbyists in the White House to broadcasting health care meetings on C-SPAN to not curtailing earmarks to failing in his promises of transparency and bipartisanship.

In Obama's eyes, he is always the aggrieved, always the violated, always the victim of some injustice. He is America's virtuous and valorous hero, a man of unusually pure motives and uncommon wisdom, under assault by the forces of darkness.

It is all so darn unfair."

Obama, the Thin-Skinned President - Ethics & Public Policy Center

Are you serious???????????????

Every President is mercilessly make fun of on SNL and tons of other places. This has nothing to do with Obie.

You guys can't stop with Obie.

It's much more "cutting," the humor, with Trump or Palin because what they do is so ridiculous. All SNL does is exaggerate what they do. That is all they ever did to any president.
The more ridiculous the person is, the more more it shows in exaggeration.

Trump has been sounding like Sarah Palin herself lately. The more he does, the worse it's gonna be on him. Rightfully so. We deserve better than idiocy from our President.

What cancelled the Smothers was the sheepish sponsors that pressured CBS.

Red:
No, he's not "messing around." The man has, for the whole of his life, conducted his affairs variously as a bully and authoritarian. Hell, he recently attempted to have the government implement USPS price increases aimed at adversely affecting Amazon's business. The man has no compunction about bending the federal government to his will.

Trump should serve as a cautionary tale of "Careful what you wish for." Voters left and right whine about career politicians and their corruption and say that they want someone who is an outsider. Well, you got one, didn't you? An arrogant, spolied rich boy who has never been held accountable for his words or deeds, and who still thinks he can run the country the same way he runs his businesses.

Beware of millionaires and billionaires going into politics. They know not what they do. That means you, Mr. Schultz -- you had one great idea that made you rich. Good for you. I'm jealous, wish I'd thought of it, but it does not make you any more qualified to be president than Trump is, and we can all see what a disaster that has become.

Please, no more amateurs.

Trump is the biggest freak running for President, in 2020, so yes, SNL has done a skit or two on one of them!

**hugs**

That’s true about exaggeration.
Ford was portrayed as a bumbler that tripped, Carter, a detailed technocrat; Reagan, a senile old man; Bush1, speech disabled; Clinton, a womanizer; Bush2, mentally challenged and Obama, too intellectual.

Oh, hit a nerve pointing out Obama's own 'thin skinness' eh....lol....I know that you'd prefer we treat Trump as though he is the first President ever that's had a problem with this sort of foolishness, and I agree that he doesn't handle it well, but maybe you shouldn't sound so triggered.

LMAO! What a little triggered snowflake.

Is he just messing around or what, just wow. Exactly what are they doing that is illegal? Here's the sketch btw, good stuff

Yeah...I bet you love Alec Baldwin. Ya'll love you some people who have abused their own 11 year old daughters.

What kind of trash ad-hom post is this.....

What I find strange is that Trump hates Alec Baldwin's impersonation on SNL, yet he keeps watching the show...
