"We are told that multiple people have been struck by gunfire," a spokesman for the Kane County State Attorney's Office wrote in an email Friday afternoon.

An Aurora police spokesman told The Washington Post the suspect has not been apprehended and “multiple people ... multiple officers” were injured. The spokesperson could not confirm any fatalities. Those in the Highland-Prairie area were being asked to shelter in place.

So far no fatalities reported. 4 Officer shot, a number of civilians as well. Hope all survive

One report I saw there was talk that firings or layoffs had happened. Haven't heard a confirmation though. Sounds like a significant number of injuries though. Fox news reporting a coroner has been sent to the scene. Very sad.

The reports I've seen said some people had been life flighted to trauma centers so that seems pretty severe. Also just reported a coroner has been dispatched to the scene.

The apprehended has been changed to neutralized, so time will tell.

That's never good. It reminds me of the night Princess Diana got into her accident. The media was reporting her condition as "grave". That was a sure sign that she was going to die. Having the coroner on site is not a good sign.

Very sad.

With the number of injuries reported I am not surprised there are deaths.
After finishing working overseas, I worked security.
Had 1 guy that was fired, hired by another company in the same business. He then killed 2 coworkers, stabbed them.

Ya just never know when a person will snap.
