‘My whole town practically lived there’: From Costa Rica to New Jersey, a pipeline of illegal worker

I had been waiting patiently for another thread about how Trump is a hero and serious about illegal immigration, and I was going to spring this.
But it's good that it's here anyway.
He's not serious, he never was serious, he never will be serious, and this whole so called "crisis" is just an enormous mental masturbation with an enormous orange dildo straight up the orifices of his true believers, who are so DAMN desperate to get off that they'll listen to anything he says, as long as he respects them in the morning.
He cornholes them repeatedly and they moan with pain and pleasure every time he does it, and they lash out at anyone who would so much as question anything he says.

Good Lord, how is they don't feel cheap and used, I'll never understand it.

way too graphic, yet so true

"Trump was also known for his occasional largesse. The housekeepers who cleaned his villa noted neat stacks of $20, $50 and $100 bills on his bedside table, which Trump would dole out as tips as he golfed or strolled the grounds. He would sometimes warmly greet employees and compliment them as he inspected their work. "

Don't you read your own links?

Is that what you think was important?
So, we won't even talk about the hypocrisy because that didn't matter, right?

Build that wall, build that wall, build that wall - - just be sure to build in a big fat exemption for Trump, do as he says, not as he does, right?
Eight bucks an hour to operate heavy equipment. But he tosses out the occasional sawbuck or a benjamin.
You should be embarrassed at yourself.

It is pathetic, most apologist nonsense is, but in the face of outright proof that your god has feet of clay, it borders on absurdity.

If the border remains porous, the potential costs could be astronomical. Like a hard invasion instead of this soft one.

Porous borders you say?

Donald Trump on twitter... just last year.

- 45 year low on illegal border crossings this year. Ice and Border Patrol Agents are doing a great job for our Country. MS-13 thugs being hit hard.[0908 EST]

Trump, much like Romney was... is on both sides of every issue at any given moment. And his sheep will bleat about how consistent he is.

The left lost this fight a month ago when Trump declared he would take credit for it and a month later they still have not figured it out yet and keep digging a deeper political hole for themselves.

Hardly. We'll see who gets the blame. It'll be trump and the trump nation folk again.

I don't know what you're referencing cuz it ain't in what you quoted.

Why do you feel a need to pretend you can't read?

"Angulo learned to drive backhoes and bulldozers, carving water hazards and tee boxes out of former horse pastures in Bedminster, N.J., where a famous New Yorker was building a world-class course. Angulo earned $8 an hour, a fraction of what a state-licensed heavy equipment operator would make, with no benefits or overtime pay."

But, hey, he's helping make it possible to overturn Roe v. Wade. Nothing else matters.

? What does Roe V. Wade have to do with anything pertaining to this thread? I suggest you stick to it.

For the paywall challenged and the reading challenged: Trump paid them $8/hour to operate heavy equipment. No benefits. A licensed, legal operator would have cost him $51/hour, including benefits. Trump has employed a whole town full of illegal immigrants in the state of NJ.

‘My whole town practically lived there’: From Costa Rica to New Jersey, a pipeline of illegal workers for Trump goes back years

As an employer, Trump used every means to make a profit. As a president, Trump is using every means to attempt to prevent those who take from the gov't from being a part of US citizenry.

Different goals for different jobs.

Trump saying there's a 45 year low on illegal immigration is like the US saying there's a 45 year low in carbon emissions. Is the EPA and environmental scientists also talking out of both sides of their mouths?

The crisis is the mushrooming entitlement debt that will consume such a greater part of US debt to stagnate the US economy. Illegal immigration adds to the mushrooming US debt.
The crisis is the illegal drugs and gang violence walking into the US unabated.
The crisis is having immigration rules that aren't enforced.
The crisis is a congress which is unwilling to propose immigration legislation which is good for the country that may be too controversial to win congresscritters reelection.

Roe v. Wade is why Trump's allegedly Christian base puts their head in the sand about all the awful things Trump does.

Since I was a Republican until fairly recently, I keep getting campaign workers knocking on my door with their GOP get out the vote efforts. Usually I don't say much to them. I'm polite. I assure them I'm going to vote. I rarely mention I'm voting against the person they're campaigning for unless they push it.

This last time I was candid with the guy and said that when the GOP picked someone as awful as Trump, they lost me forever. He seemed to understand. But then he asked me if I was pro-life. He was setting up to tell me that no matter how bad Trump was, he was serving the right's pro-life agenda. I told him I was pro-choice. He nodded and left. He and I and YOU know that the only way all those otherwise decent people are putting up with this vile man and his hypocrisy and his trade wars and his family separations and his backstabbing of our allies and his embrace of dictators and his twitter tantrums and all the other ways he is shaming this country is because he's stacking the courts with the religious right's only chance to repeal Roe v. Wade.

Trump hires illegal immigrants en masse.

:lamo this ****in guy thinks Mexico is going to invade the US.

Including illegal ones. And he's doing the same as president.

Uh-Huh. I read it when the OP posted it.
Regarding what I posted on this thread, exactly what did you find in the WAPO article that you imagine challenges it?

I was, among other things, referencing the fact that (A) Trump is and always has hired thousands of illegals, and (B) making one among many specific references to eight dollar an hour heavy equipment op jobs that normally pay several times that.

But the main point of the entire thread is Trump's absolute and utter hypocrisy over illegal aliens who he suddenly now claims "are taking our jobs".
Well yeah, of course they take some American jobs, because often times American employers DO NOT WANT American labor.

Trump and his team have somehow magically managed to manipulate and distort this into "Democrats want open borders and welcome illegal aliens who take American jobs", which is absolute bullcrap.

Years from now, if this nation ever recovers from the Trump fever dream, people will look back and start to remember the fact that hundreds of thousands of American employers have been taking advantage of cheap illegal alien labor for as long as it has existed.
And those people are on all ends of the political spectrum...and always have been.

Okay, that's it...you either understand what I was getting at or you don't, or won't.
It is not important to me that you agree, but I just wanted to make my position clear, and I can't make it any clearer.

I think this issue along with his position on protecting American workers while his products were manufactured abroad speaks to the more practical truth of the desire for cheap labor over the desire to employ based on nationality. Anyone who at their core favors protecting American workers would have a track record of doing so, and not just use it as a rhetorical device in campaigns. In this sense I would say Trump did the smart thing business-wise, but not what's in unison to his message while campaigning.

And as long as you fine folks continue to distort it as some kind of "commie leftist tyrannical plot" instead of looking at it realistically as a manifestation of certain greed elements common to both sides, it will never be properly addressed.

Ah. The cheap labor point. No kidding. Not really news.
But it's only hypocrisy if you can show Trump knew.

Nothing reported in the WAPO story in the OP or the subsequent WAPO story today was able to show Trump knew.
I hope you don't think Trump does/did all the hiring for the Trump Organization operations.
Do you?
From WAPO today ...
" Did Trump know he employed workers who had entered the United States illegally?
We don’t know.
Neither the Trump Organization nor the White House has responded to questions about what Trump knew.
Eric Trump has indicated the Trump Organization was unaware of these illegal workers until recently, when he said the company was forced to fire them. “Our employees are like family, but when presented with fake documents, an employer has little choice,” he said."

But that's what Trump is!

100% rhetoric - 0% reality

And his fans are addicted to this "empty calorie junk food".

What are your "fine folks" doing to solve the problems? Resisting? Coming up with new sanctuary methods to thwart the Feds? Letting criminals out on the streets?

Why of course!!!
I guess we'll just apply that plausible deniability to everything.
By the way, I have a few "commie leftists demoncrats" who would like to rent your plausible deniability machine.
What's that? You say it's for Republicans only?

Hmmmmm...

I'm glad they did. I doubt Trump or his family had any hand in hiring them in the first place.

Sorry, but he was responsible for the business culture that allowed that to happen. The culture starts with the leader and the rules of operations fall from the culture. Trump had been cited for this before. If he were truly appalled by it, it never would happen. But, the evidence is overwhelming the Trump is our hypocrite in chief, while his cultists continue to rationalize, or otherwise make excuses for, his abominable behaviors, as that is the way cults work.

See also, Trump products manufactured in countries other than the US.
