Wrong. I am not convinced the wall will work. No argument made has been fallacy free that supports it. There is no evidence it is necessary or would work.

My judgment of him is not clouded by hatred.

E-Verify has an error rate of what, 8-10%? It isn't my problem who is having problems. They should figure it out or be fined and jailed for undermining our markets.

I'd also posit that, on a hunch, most employers know, they just want the cheap labor. You know as well as I do that's more likely than them being unable to verify.

That's because the wall isn't the complete solution. It must be combined with other technology to make it work. Even then, it's not leak proof.

Would you rather just have the status quo?
 
The hypocrisy uncovered by this immigration nonsense is astounding. Trump up on his bully pulpit saying what xenophobes want to hear on Monday, and then on Tuesday it turns out that he is taking advantage of undocumented workers. He shuts down the government over a wall, and behind the scenes hires undocumented workers. Lordy, Lordy.

I wonder which wall will be remember longer in history--Trump's Wall or the Berlin Wall?

Yep, some employers do make cheap, illegal employees part of their business model. Others however are in a tight labor market and rely on E-Verify and documents presented to get someone hired. Most of these employees are making the same money as legal citizens.

Don't believe this crap about those people working for slave wages. It just ain't true.

We need workers in the labor market just not illegal ones.

I'd rather not waste my tax dollars on ineffective nonsense that is strictly designed to re-elect a president I don't support. Is that honest enough?

You want to really end the problems south of the border?

Jail employers of illegals. End the ridiculous drug war. Tax and regulate use of all narcotics. This way the biggest cash cow dries up. Use the border patrol and military to police the border and end human trafficking by actually taking it seriously. No waste of a wall, problem solved.

Of course this will never be supported by social conservatives.

And? There are americans robbing other americans by lying about college degrees and sordid other things. It all just depends. At the end of the day, I'd bet I'm more hardline than you are on immigration.

But for me, I am not deluded by it. It doesn't control my political thought. It's become a single issue. I guess, with the impending roll back of Roe protections, the right figured they needed something to fall back on once their biggest voting/donation bloc is placated.

I'm not averse to your suggestions but, the agents on the border believe barriers are crucial and in comparison, cheap.

For me, more concerned about America's genocide. If those tiny humans were allow to live, we wouldn't need immigration.

But it's not going to be cheap. Maintenance, plus we have all the pending legal fights, the blatant misrepresentation with regard to the native american land there, etc.

Remember, Roe is tied to alot more than abortion. Be prepared for forced blood donation or kidney donation, etc.

I had been waiting patiently for another thread about how Trump is a hero and serious about illegal immigration, and I was going to spring this.
But it's good that it's here anyway.
He's not serious, he never was serious, he never will be serious, and this whole so called "crisis" is just an enormous mental masturbation with an enormous orange dildo straight up the orifices of his true believers, who are so DAMN desperate to get off that they'll listen to anything he says, as long as he respects them in the morning.
He cornholes them repeatedly and they moan with pain and pleasure every time he does it, and they lash out at anyone who would so much as question anything he says.

Good Lord, how is they don't feel cheap and used, I'll never understand it.
