The president is in a unique position to get a bill like this through the House and Senate with his leadership but instead he chose to attempt to take away Healthcare from 20 million people and succeeded on passing a massive tax cut for the super rich

I've heard that swan song before. Back in the seventies when California passed strict auto emissions standards Republicans cried that such a policy would kill jobs in this state. I used to drive down Highway 90 which is towards Torrance in South bay Los Angeles and in the 70s I could not see downtown skyline which was about 10 miles away, could not see it because of the smog. Today downtown is in Clear view. Not only did the policy not result in job losses it cleared the air and made people healthier. Last time I checked healthier people means less money spent on Healthcare thus saving Society money. Well what do you know -- more money in people's pockets means the economy improves! God forbid Republicans do something that's wise.

What it is is compassionate and sensible capitalism.

See? "Socialism" is being redefined, that is all that is happening.

Bernie called himself a "democratic socialist". I personally believe that was a mistake, and should have called himself

a "social democrat", for that was what they used to be called.


Basically, today, the term is being used as "selective state enterprise", that's about it.

Don't forget about the DoD having $21 Trillion sitting around somewhere from the last few years even though their budget since existence is less than $18T. Or the roughly $50 trillion price tag for this GND. But somehow we are going to pay for it with the 70% tax rate on billionaires that would bring in a whopping $3 billion at best.

The fact that this woman has an economics degree is so disturbing to me, it goes beyond words.

All that said, I would vote for her a thousand times over. Let's celebrate her and keep her on the front page as often as possible! I love AOC.

Nobody thinks the world is ending in twelve years, except, perhaps, people waiting for Jesus to come out of the sky. It's a carbon foot-print dead-line, and the assertion is that if we fail to meet it, we'll start seeing some massively detrimental effects, some of which we're already dealing with in the form of wonky seasons and massive and numerous hurricanes.

1. The switch to green energy is a fraud. most green energy companies have crashed and burned.
2. Switching every building over to green energy would cost bulding owners millions of dollars and some simply do not have.
also there some buldings that are so old that it would be impossible to retrofit them and if you could the owner has 0 reason
to as he would never re-coup his money.

we just saw the failure of the high speed rail in CA. high speed rail failed in FL as well.
it would cost people billions of dollars in time. I couldn't do my job as i have to travel overseas at times
in order to work. I travel all over the US as well. I can't be traveling 3 or 4 days on a train.

Let just not even get into paying people to do nothing. that is the worst lunacy i have heard of.
