‘A Match Into a Can of Gasoline’: Measles Outbreak Now an Emergency in Washington State

I have had to provided proof of children's vaccinations on many occasions.

Well sure parents usually especially today have that stuff. But if you are a 60 or 70 year old who wants to get on a plane what do you do? My spouse had measles and mumps as a kid and has nothing other than his memories that he had it. He never needed the vaccination. Cant imagine how one could enforce such a thing. Its hard enough for many people to provide birth certificates let alone vaccination records from 30, 40, 50 years ago or proof they had the disease. I have a photo of myself having chicken pox in second grade. Thats my proof?

And you have sources for those observations. I would think the biggest cause would be weakening immunity with increasing of time between vaccination and exposure. People may need to be revaccinated.

Also I would like to know if the people who were vaccinated but still caught Measles were vaccinated before they were at least 15 months old. I also wonder if Maternal antibodies may have interfered with vaccinations of children if done to early. And I'd like to know if they received one dose of vaccine like was recommended before1989 or two dosages that has been recommended since that time.

Well these are my sources, I have a fascination with epidemiology. And I have at least as many on my Kindle.

I dont have the answers to your new questions but they are interesting.

I think that's found in a few of those Sharyl Attkisson pieces that I linked to. She's written several articles about it, and as I recall the FDA man she interviews mentions that.

Didnt see it in that load of CT horsecrap.

Maybe, maybe not.

Things are seldom black or white.

Unfortunately, not only did I find her article irresponsible, now that I know you are a CTer, you have pretty much lost all credibility IMO and every single thing you would consider truthful would be suspect.

That's punching down. You should be ashamed. You know Florida's special.

There are some days when I do think that Florida is "special" (in the "Church lady" sense) and others (when the temperature here reaches a HIGH of freezing) when I don't.

Disease is clinically evident impairment of normal functioning of the body. You are confusing exposure with disease. Vaccines prevent disease not exposure.

I see, so your

Vaccines decrease your odds of catching disease and decrease your odds of having sequela after contracting a disease. If you compare those potential risk to the potential risk of the vaccine itself the odds aren't even close. Vaccines are much safer than not taking them are.

and my

The vaccine does NOT prevent the person from contracting a disease, what it does is prepare the person's body to generate its own antibodies which will enable the person's own body to kill off the invading disease organisms faster than they can develop to the point where they cause symptoms and sequalae of the disease to occur.

don't say exactly the same thing but in different words.

PS - And the link that I requested is - where?

This is exactly what I thought.

He’s basically going to be ignored by me from now on- it’s like a giant red flag.

you are angry that illegals come from every country and race. You are racist.

You are the one pushing the theory that some of these "idiotic White people" who refuse the vaccine might be "illegal"...They are not.....Go push your stupid theory's somewhere else

So they aren't illegals because they are white. So you are racially profiling these people? How racist of you. BTW the black people in the crowd are going to shocked that you think they are white.

My wife has a huge fascination with the subject also. Me, I had enough in my epidemiology class in med school I don't read much on the subject these days. But Hot Zone was pretty good.

It's very good, and it's the only fiction on that bookshelf altho he wrote using the science very accurately.

Two black people.! So you know people’s legal status by just looking at them. That’s profiling son. That is racist

Adults are advised in many cases to have a second vaccination. If you had this disease 50 years ago, and can't prove it, you could get vaccinated now. It the spread of this disease continue, that might not be a bad idea for anyone with questionable history.

No. This is total crap.

And I’d even go further and say that it’s irresponsible to link crap like that in a public forum.

Conspiracy theory lightly disguised as ‘reporting’.

We're all conspiracy theorists sir. All that separates us is just which theory we embrace. In this case theory A is that vaccines have no unintended consequences or side effects, while theory B is that they do.

All that really matters is the efficacy of the vaccines and/or the tradeoffs that a person must make.

That you need to invoke conspiracy theory to "make a point" comes across as being rather uncertain of the sustainability of your position, tending toward desperation.

Aw come on--you've known me to be a CTer for a very long time here.

Invoke a label, and be forgiven for avoiding the real points of the controversy. Got it!

No you are a conspiracy theorist, you accept any CT that blames the ebil US govt for anything

Logic/facts/reason/common sense are not things you understand

Yea I had asked my doctor about 5 years ago when there was an outbreak. She said "no it wasnt necessary." But now I do see the CDC has changed and said a second vaccine is necessary at 18 or so for young people so I imagine it might be the same for older people. They also now say we need two for chicken pox as well and a booster every 10 for whooping cough. These things keep getting updated.

Yeah.

Being pro-vaccine is an unsustainable position?

I see no point in continuing this.

You do realize that all of that so-called "vaccination" stuff is total crap because germs don't exist - don't you?

I know that this is true because FOX's Pete Hegseth said so.

Fox host says he 'hasn't washed hands in 10 years'

All the REALLY intelligent people either work for, or watch (exclusively) FOX to get **T*H*E** **T*R*U*T*H**!!

Right?

Right?

This is a non-Fox issue.

Its an issue of abject stupidity. Fox certainly parades that a lot, but it doesnt have an absolute monopoly on it.

I'm guessing there is more to that Hegseth clip. The quote is just too strange and there has to be some other context to it.
